iMerchant:Let me help you here, from a colustomers point of view, I have made los of purchases via konga.com and I have also returned so products especially when the advertised product is different from what gets delivered. Or I once had a situation where the deliver led product looked tardy, cheap and different from what was advertised. Franky alot of merchants are to blame! Their quick money mentality ends up affecting these businesses. For a merchant to succeed simply 1. Make sure you advertise exactly what you are selling. 2. Make sure your advised products are standard and of good quality not tattered packagings 3. Don't try to sell fake products |

No site like Ebay,Amazon, and King of kings of all sites Craigslist. All these so called jumia, konga sell complete fake substandard items by using fake internet shopped images from other global sites to advertise on konga.com,jumia etc. If you want to buy quality goods,go to aliexpress.com Very mature site, where they sell fake and original. The good thing is you can select fake from original, not like konga and jumia Dat sells mostly cheap Chinese products. Nigerians be wise, very soon eBay will give nigerians the chance of shopping on their server,by then una go see quality original for cheaper value, not here where imagine I see chinko home theater for 30k on konga.com ,d same home theater wey dem dey sell for 9000. Imagine 21k difference for chinco home theater. Ppl feel say konga and jumia no dey sell fake, uurrh you gork yourself. Na konga sell fake pass. |

iamjayboss:all the points the op made are pointless and holds no water . If those points are valid then ebay and co wont even be in existence .why will any entrepreneur be afraid of competition ,when to be successful you need to be a step ahead of your competitors |

onatisi:E-commerce was not built on the foundation of pay on delivery. That is a Nigerian thing because we do not have trust for ourselves. The best products to sell online to the Nigerian market are services and subscriptions. I have been enjoying less fuss since I switched from products to services. ![]() |

hahn:we are both saying the same thing. I said it is the " best for the Nigerian market considering the peculiar nature of the Nigerian market", if you remove pay on delivery you will be amazed at the number of complains that will erupt from the buyers but like I said it can be modified to accommodate both the buyer and the seller ,at the moment now it is tilted in favour of the buyer |

NAIRALAND should have been the best place to market a product or service. I enjoyed selling my original memory cards I got from dubai stores for more than 3 years with lots of great review, but unfortunately, a mod that finds nothing good in good reputation delist my thread without a clear cut on what I did wrong. I file a complaint and mail this mods, there was no rules in nairaland I violated but he feels my thread of almost 3 years old should be close down based on selling copyright materials and offering after sales service of giving free movies and Android games I took the pain of opening another thread for my memory card, and decided not to include that I be transferring free movies and Android games to the cards, but he still delete my thread . I sell original SanDisk I get from SanDisk stores in dubai and the mods and Seun thinks am selling fake. Thank God I sell on jiji dot ng and my establishment on nairaland base on customer reviews had made my sells be base on customers referrals all over Nigeria. My powerbank Is still selling hot though here. I just pray another ban doesn't come from seun mods. |

hahn:Online stores are a still a growing industry in Nigeria. The "Pay on Delivery" is meant to impart confidence to the customers and improve trust. The first items I got from Konga, I chose "Pay on Delivery." Today, I use KongaPay, which is even a pay-before-delivery option. |

A good example of how your money can disapear into thin air is Traclist.com one of those ecommerce site that has been oweing sellers for more than a year now. They moved office when the couldn't pay thier sellers and staff. Only God knows what they have done with people's money. Baba ijebu or Nairabet probably. when you want to sell online better build ur own ecommerce site. |

Most sellers showcase something else on those platforms buh end up delivering substandard items. In terms of honesty, we're still behind.. Most people now prefer to see what they want to buy bfor purchase |

Merchant are dubious on this platform, I like shopping on Konga but I only buy what konga is selling not from other merchant on their platform because I don't trust other merchant. |

Owning your platform is the best. Especially now that building e-commerce sites and interesting payment processors are becoming very easy and cheap. Your can even extend your platform to become multivendor. Believe it or not, the Nigerian e-commerce business is still very much opened to competition despite the rattling of Jumia, Konga and the likes. |

ReabridCharles:My brother , the same thing nearly happened to me on Monday . I was about buying a Techno Camon C8 from a seller on JiJi , never knew the guy was a scammer until he told me to go to the bank and pay in the money for the phone , I had the money with me but knowing how scammers move around these days I didn't even want to try it , he even refused to come and collect the money while bringing the phone . The rest is just a long story , people are just the ones making bad names for all these online buying/spellings stuffs . |
