I've got to admit, I enjoy how these rival fans turn to overnight accountants, calculating and analysing matters related to United's finances ![]() Exaggerating in the process and having the piss boiled ![]() After laughing about the mkhitaryan deal being 40m, it turned out to be just 26. Same way they exaggerate Ibrahimovic's wages. In the end the pogba deal if he comes will not be more than 88m. But if blowing things out of proportion will make y'all sleep at night, it's all well and good ![]() |

I really wanted Mahrez! ![]() I hope the Mkhitaryan guy won't dull that right wing o ![]() Pogba for €120? This is what ruins players. Can you really play under so much pressure as the world most expensive player in the midfield? Especially for a guy who seems like a drama queen. ![]() |

Elxandre:If I didn't write JSS3, it is better than your situation of not passing common entrance (Primary school exit exam). Your explanation didn't make sense. I ask between number 8 and number 10 which is easier to pass? You are looking like a lost sheep. Mourinho doesn't mind playing Zouma or Jones or David Louis in midfield where passing is done with less pressure. But a player like Rooney should be passing in more crowded zone in the number 10 (AM) or number 9 and half (SS). You lack logic. You be olodo. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 9:05am On Jul 07, 2016 |
Elxandre:If you said number 8 is more difficult to make passes, then you should not be analysing football. Number 10 requires intelligent passes and quick play. This is why most number 10 drop deeper as they get older. Scholes, Pirlo all started their careers as number 10. In fact most great midfielders started their careers as offensive/attacking midfielders. Some even ended in the DM like Gerald. Gaal almost made Schweinsteiger a DM. Even the greatest midfielders sometimes have off days. Even our own Paul Scholes. But you guys were quick to rubbish Rooney after he excelled in midfield, a new position, for two months. You no know ball. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Elxandre(m): 9:27am On Jul 07, 2016 |
elampiro:They were used as 'destroyers'. Even Pepe once played that role for Mou as shocking as he is on the ball. And Everyone even knows Luiz is great on the ball. Na you be Olodo. I ask you, Is Rooney a better passer than the likes of schweinteiger, Kroos, Xavi? Seriously I used to rate your analysis high, not knowing you were an Olodo. To you 'great passing' is floating the ball to Valencia all day. ![]() Rooney's passing is shockingly limited, not visionary and is only better than Schneiderlin's. Everyone can see that, except "football Didinrins" and "fan girls" like you who only follow matches on Whoscored and the likes. ![]() |

No one is born to be a midfielder. Players drop from advanced zone to midfield as they get older or when they can't compete with the best in the attacking zone. Carrick: Started as a striker. Signed by Spurs to play the number 10. Ended his career as a DM where he actually play his most football. Paul Scholes: Started as an attacking midfielder and sometimes played in the wing. Pirlo: Started as an AM, went to CM as he grew older. Ended as a DM. Xavi: Started as an AM, quickly reinvented himself as a CM. Schweinsteiger: Former winger/AM, now CM. Gaal almost made him a DM. Gerald: Started from the right wing, later played as AM and CM. Ended his career at Liverpool and England as a DM. Even Xabi Alonso was not always a DM. If Mourinho wants Rooney in more advanced position, it makes sense to say that he sees that Rooney can still be productive enough to compete in the high pressured zone Elxandre, I say again. You no know ball. |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Elxandre(m): 9:48am On Jul 07, 2016 |
The difference is Rooney became a superstar as a number 9. One of or the best in the world at some point. Those players grew into the midfield at a tender age. And annoyingly, you listed only midfielders all through your examples. I ask again, Is Rooney a better, or even close to being as good as those guys up there in terms of visionary passing ability? I bet Mourinho won't compare himself to Pirlo because he also plays deep and "not under pressure". He believes so much in Rooney, yet he went to get a similar player in Ibra (34 years old)? Elampiro, you be fraud. |

Elxandre:Wether used as destroyer or as annihilators, the fact remains that these are not great passers. Elxandre:There are the guys who couldn't make it in pressured zone and were deployed to less pressured zone early in their career where they mastered the art of passing. If Rooney played there consistently for several years, he could be as good. Elxandre:Only blind man like you couldn't see that Rooney was our best passer, and the one who made the most creative passes in the last two months of our EPL campaign. Rooney was making through passes like pure water. Which midfielder dominated in Wembley on both occasions? Someone who cannot pass will not have 10/11 accurate long balls. Only Scholes used to do that. This is our match against Everton in FA cup

Elxandre:Mourinho will not promote Pirlo to an AM. He will just allow Pirlo to spread passes in the less pressure zone. Get common sense. |

elampiro:Oga, if you are insinuating that #10s are neccesarily better/more intelligent passers of the ball than the CMs/DMs that sit behind them (due to the nonsense "pressure zone" thing you have been shouting since).... Think agaiñ or else.... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by elampiro(m): 11:07am On Jul 07, 2016 |
Dadehmola:Consider this: Maradona is a number 10. Pele is a number 10 in the traditional sense. Even the best midfielders of our generation were previously number 10s, most of them had to drop to the less pressure zones as their speed and athleticism left them. |

Victor Valdes is on the verge of a move to Middlesbrough. The 34-year-old signed for Manchester United in January 2015 but made just two appearances for the Red Devils before being released last month. According to BBC Sport, Valdes is due at the Riverside Stadium today to have a medical and discuss personal terms with the newly promoted Premier League outfit. The veteran stopper spent time on loan with Standard Liege last season, helping them win the Belgian Cup. [Source: BBCSport] #MUFC #Valdes |

Woodward is a businessman, I can guarantee he would recoup that £100m from his next business deal. Think about the money that would be made from endorsement and sale of shirts from Zlatan & Pogba. Ed Woodward is an 'ibo man', guy don do I'm calculations no fear. |

JOSE MOURINHO ON HIS IDEAL NUMBER 10 Jose Mourinho believes Eden Hazard does not have the ability to become Chelsea’s regular No.10 and says Deco and Wesley Sneijder are the two “perfect” players who can fulfil that role. The Belgium international has asked the Chelsea manager about changing from the left flank to a central role, and although he was tested in that position against Stoke City and Norwich, last season’s PFA player of the Year was used on the left in Tuesday’s 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel Aviv. When he was asked if Hazard could thrive in that role in the long term, Mourinho replied: “As a number 10? I don't think so. “We have different concepts of number 10, me and him. “For me a number 10 does a lot of things, with the ball and without the ball. So for me a number 10 is a very special player in my team. “With a system of two midfield players and one number 10, I demand a lot from a number 10. “I like a number 10 to score goals. I like a number 10 to get in the box. I like a number 10 to score goals like Oscar's against Maccabi Tel Aviv. “A number 10 for me is an eight-and-a-half when the team loses the ball, and the number 10 is a nine-and-a-half when the team has the ball. “Who is my perfect number 10? Wesley Sneijder and Deco. Because they could defend, get in the box and finish goals? Yes.” m.goal.com/s/en/news/1862/premier-league/2015/11/28/17821032/jose-mourinho-reveals-his-perfect-no10-but-its-not-eden |

elampiro:That's why I used the phrase "necessarily better" in my previous post... Yeah, #10s & "hole men" have been synonymous with intelligent passing, craft & guile but football has evolved beyond that stereotyped mentality At liverpool, Steven Gerrard thrived as a 2nd striker (nine & a half) not because he was the most intelligent passer of the ball. Even our very own J.S park wàs deployed as in AM in certain matches - did it necessarily mean he was more intelligent/better passer than Scholes who sat in Midfield? Thomas Muller is another player that has been deployed in a withdrawn C.F. role on numerous ocassions with Kroos Sitting behind - does it mean Muller is the more intelligent passer? Nobody would even compare the passing abilities of Pogba to that of pirlo's (despite the fact that the Frenchman thrived in a more advanced position). Elampiro, i'd say that Mourihno's decision to push Rooney upfront & nearer to goal is probably because the portuģese feels fat boy's goalscoring abilities would benefit the team better....not because of any yeye passing ability (that's clearly not Rooney's forte in this context ) |

Every fans are in support of united paying £100 to £120 for pogba. We have the money and for once in a long time, we should sign a perfect midfielder to cover up that area once and for all. Rooney can go jump into the lagoon for all i care. He's past his prime |

igbsam:I don't get how somebody will continually support a player who is only remembered to play well once in 15 games. Some things have no laid down value especially when it comes to services. |

lekkie073:I weak my brother. Sometimes, i just scroll past elampiro's comments. They reek of shyt! Someone is past his prime, yet he wud be comparing him to d current crop of hungry players we have today. Rooney is finished and has nothing to offer. If a player is dat good why wud they be changing his position the same way a woman changes her pant. |
