Ist of all, you really made me laff with this your comment. I laffed so hard I didn't even know how to reply you. You are converting 8€ paracetamol and comparing it to Nigerian emzor and saying 350€ laptop is a China laptop. Baby girl plz go broaden your horizon and stop mingling with those who keep giving you negative stories abt Germany. It won't help you going forward. I'm a damn realist and anyone who knows me here know I say it the way it is. And mind you I don't shop on eBay neither do I pratonize Primark or flohmarkt. When you are in Germany think like a German and stop making euro to naira conversion before you buy things, it won't help u.

You keep talking abt people not getting jobs or intern slot while I keep seeing Nigerians who have gotten jobs here. Them no get two heads, think positive. #enuf said, enjoy ur summer

You throwey your guy abi,
and EKE your matter dey court, na me be your accuser and lawyer and judge,

go back and read my past comments. i am being real. i need to correct an impression about the high expectations people generally have about being abroad. i have seen people weeping for being uninformed especially those who have lost so much just to get here. things could turn good also but the truth is that there are challenges here too. And you know it.
i dont need anyone to like my post. nobody likes the preacher who preaches hell fire every sunday. Everyone one wants to hear prosperity preaching only. when i read UK and other threads on nairaland i am impressed. people coming out to say things the way they are. i read Canada thread recently on NL and what i read shocked me.

It's good to be realistic. Nonetheless, we shouldn't be too negative because we want to allay our optimistic bias.

Can you please stop being so aggressive. Nobody is quarreling with you, i don't know why you are taking things too personal. I can say it over and over again that Germany is one of the best countries. if you feel that you don't like the system you can relocate, and stop discouraging most people. If you cant be corrected then stop commenting here, i don't even know when you started existing here. You correct people and get offended when being corrected showing that you know it all.

Funny but true. @schwartz the impressions you are giving us here are boiling people heart, please don't use your situation and others own to judge the whole situations.
I knw palm-history and everyone have different fates on their palm and what matters most is to move closer and pray to God, this is the right way u should have put it.
You are a woman, we expect u to give us the good impression and courage. Take it or leave it, you have discouraged many people here. Softly softly mama smiley

NB: It's good we have these little discussions from time to time. I'm sure many folks have learnt new things today. I want to hear the good, bad & ugly but without discouraging people or attacking them.

If there's a argument between a man and woman, it's the woman that will say the last word and they can express themselves in a nasty manner at times.

That's a woman for u,so am not surprised.

D prices are outrageous only if u still do the mistake of mentally converting to naira and comparing it to how much its sold in Nigeria.

If u buy gadgets in Germany with a germanized mentality, my sister dia is nothing outrageous abt d price. You can't tell me a new laptop of 300€ is outrageous to a German or a TV of 400€ is outrageous to a German or a Samsung phone of 160€ is outrageous if u av a germanized mentality. I have bought phones and a TV here and I don't c it as outrageous bcus I stopped converting to naira 2 months after my arrival.

The truth is that, a laptop is more expensive in Germany because the cost of marketing and sales is more and wages ar higher. If you display a ware n Germany, the seller will collect nothing less than 8.50 and hour while in Nigeria, that 8.50 will last for an entire day.

Note that this question is coming from someone with only the naira and have not made a dime from Germany. A laptop for 300 euros will certainly be a normal laptop of with basic features or I even bet it might be a secondhand laptop. If you convert that amount in naira, 300*370, you know the kind laptop wey you go use am buy.
@Ohaskid, buy your laptops and phones from Nigeria. A Samsung in Nigeria is the same Samsung anywhere in the world.

My dear pple, every Mallam with e kettle ooo. Do not follow some negative comments here. Germo non good, them beg u come here? Abeg carry ur bag go where good for u.

I won't advice anyone to come here with high expectations but trust me, Germany is one of the best place for studies. Ask pple in uk, Canada, us they don't only work to pay bills, majority also work to raise tuition. And here is a country that gives u first class education for free and u are there running ur mouth like broken tap.

Drop that mentality of currency conversion u are in euro zone not naira zone. I guess u are also scared to buy deodorant after ur currency conversion. I pity ur bf and class mates, u go don use body odor finish them.

I usually do not direct my post to people, but I think a member should be voted out. Her poorverty consciousness is above board. Imagine someone converting to buy banana? For food way u one eat? I imagine if u make ur hair or buy clothes. What a mentality!

My advice to incoming students, do not come with high expectations but trust me with ur part time job and full time holiday job, u can survive well.

Them beg u come Germany? Flight they to Nija everyday waiting u they wait for?

Go bath jor and buy some deodorants!

U carry ur family problem come they use discourage pple here. Germo good for me jor cos I only work to take care of my self and not thinking of tuition.

Go baf!
