well take you time and think about it.... because sometimes a patient wouldn't have time for tests, a quick diagnosis would have to suffice... in such cases, which organ would you use to make such quick diagnosis

A quick diagnosis based on what evidence exactly? ?

Or you the revered Dr. House

If everything is in place and you can do it as you've stated, what exactly are the uncertainties?

irregularities in that particular organ that would indicated the presence of any(most) illness(es)

Assuming there is jaundice, wouldn't it appear on the skin? if it did, how are supposed to diagnose jaundice without looking at other organs?
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Millex(m): 7:18pm On Jul 09, 2016
I would go with blood Donpre

The blood will still have to be tested, n besides blood is a tissue n not an organ

well I don't know, hence why its a open question.... the answers are suppose to be different, you're even free to Google, its all about learning

To further clarify, the book I saw this question in, used the eyes. A doctor detected hypertension, a cardiovascular disease and one other by just examining the eye using an ophthalmoscope... which is pretty kul

Anyway, I think other organs should be able to give such diagnosis and more... the question is, which? hence why I called on med docs and students who know the human body in and out, as they'd be in the best position to give an educated answer. buh its still an open question, everyone can give a shot at it

this is specifically for doc and med students buh any aspirant with in-depth knowledge could also drop an answer

if you were given a condition, in which you are to pick only one organ in the human body for the diagnosis of all patients you are to examine (i.e you can only examine that particular organ, no matter the case or patient).... which would you pick?[drop your reason(s) too]
Kidney would be more specific than liver. Since all diseases would present itself in the fluid component, almost all body fluids get to the Kidney after sometime, even old CSF after replacement. Although the liver almost seems to be useful but most body fluids relatively don't get there. Brain's blood-brain barrier makes it useless here.

I would say the Liver. Because with the help of the Kupffer cells, it filters out toxins capable of causing harm to any part of the body.

You're right. Kidney/liver, seems very important.

THE LEGAL EMPOWERMENT OF JOINT ADMISSIONS AND MATRICULATION BOARD AND THE CURRENT ADMISSION PROCESS

The legal instrument establishing the Board was promulgated by the Act (No. 2 of 1978) of the Federal Military Government on 13th February, 1978. By August 1988, the Federal Executive Council amended Decree No. 2 of 1978. The amendments have since been codified into Decree No. 33 of 1989, which took effect from 7th December, 1989. Decree No. 2 of 1978 (amended by Decree No. 33 of 1989) empowered the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to: (a) conduct Matriculation Examination for entry into all Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education (by whatever name called) in Nigeria (b) appoint Examiners, Moderators, Invigilators, members of the Subject Panels and committees and other persons with respect to matriculation examinations and any other matters incidental thereto or connected therewith. (c) place suitably qualified candidates in the tertiary institutions after having taken into account: (i) the vacancies available in each tertiary institution (ii) the guidelines approved for each tertiary institution by its proprietors or other competent authorities (iii) the preference expressed or otherwise indicated by the candidates for certain tertiary institutions and courses (iv) such other matters as the Board may be directed by the Honorable Minister to consider or the Board itself may consider appropriate in the circumstances. (d) collate and disseminate information on all matters relating to admissions into tertiary institutions or any other matter relevant to the discharge of functions of the board. (e) carry out other activities as are necessary or expedient for the full discharge of all or any of the functions conferred on it under or pursuant to this Decree . (www.jamb.gov.ng)

The questions now are
1. Is this year's admission process legal or illegal?
2. Can schools reject the policy?
3. What legal basis does post utme exams and pre degree or remedial admissions have?
4. Who are the proprietors of government (federal or state) owned institutions? Their Chancellors, Governing Councils, VCs, ASUU or Government?

My prayer is that Allah do the best for all aspirants.
Ameem.
Lots of Love from
A CONCERNED NIGERIAN.

If liver is doing its main work well(detoxification), most diseases will be avoided.

A medical ASPIRANT doesn't need those stuffs for now.
Even when you get admitted, you will need more of Physics and chemistry and biology first.
DONT RUSH THINGS

For e.g if you want to download Last' Anatomy textbook, just type "Last's anatomy pdf free download" into your search box on Google. You'll see lotsa options to download... That's how I got most of the softcopies I downloaded myself.
