Wikipedia or not.

Taye Taiwo was voted the third best player of the tournament while Mikel Obi was voted the second best player of the tournament. All the rest na story.

If Taye Taiwo was voted ahead of Aguero who you and I to disagree.

Football don pass make I dribble like Okocha. Football is what did you contribute. Shikena!

As I said, that is all you know about 2005 tournament. Yet you want to argue 2005 WYC with those of us who watched Silva, Llorente and Fabregas lie and role on the pitch after Spain was eliminated.

You want to argue with us who watched Zuiverloon of Holland attempt multiple times to injure Mikel out of the Nigeria vs Netherland game. Mikel later walked to our medics and they slipped Ice cubes into his socks because of the hurting ankle.

You want to argue with us that watched in fright as the Moroccan side with one of the best strikers of the competition, Iajour were going to face us. Then we put up a good game and eliminated them. We cheered when Iajour got a red card and he spat on one of our players.

Or when we watched in eagerness the match between Spain and Argentina and Messi scoring one of the best goals of the competition, if not the best goal.

I watched 2005, it was amazing and we still see signs of their players, including those from Argentina like the Zabaletta, Silva and Aguero who all were part of the City revolution.

Taiwo was a good player in that competition. They were far better players. The awards do not tell the full story.

So, you don't know Taye Taiwo was offered by both Real Madrid and Ac Milan before he later choose Ac Milan.

Na wa ooo!

Did Celestine Babayaro ever dreamt of playing for Ac Milan?

Ac Milan and Chelsea are not in the same level. You know that.

What happened to Celestine Babayaro when Mouriho came to the club? grin

I followed Babayaro wella but I knew he was not the main player for Chelsea.......

If he could not hack AC Milan, is it real Madrid. You did not follow Babayaro wella. It is a pure lie. If you did, you will not say he was not a main player. They were Champions League games that Babayaro was the one who sat by the side of Rudd Gullit.

How can a player play for Eight years in the club and he was not a main player.

I thought i was alone on Awoniyi's performances all along.

If not for that unfortunate Isaac Success' injury who for know Awoniyi? Isaac Success would have made it up to atleast 7goals in that tourney considering he had already scored 2 goals by the first half of his 2nd game.

I know a little bit if history of that team. Awoniyi was their top striker until Isaac Success gate crashed late into the camping and selection exercise. And this was after the team had played several series of friendly matches. It became Success all the way.

Who knew Awoniyi at the CAF U17 tourney of 2013?
Do you mean Awoniyi was their top scorer prior to the CAF U17 tournament?

Bro, don't give false information.

Isaac Success and Ibrahim Alhassan were the top joint goal scorers with 5 goals apiece. Isaac Success was already a full member of that team.

Ibrahim Alhassan was the lad benching Kelechi Iheanacho in that team. It was when he left Iheanacho started shining. Although, Kelechi Iheanacho was the top goal scorer in the friendlies, he was still not a starter in that team when Ibrahim Alhassan was there.

It was wen Alhassan left he became a starter in important games.

Such is life. But he came in and gave Nigerians a cause to smile and forgot about Isaac Success.

Awoniyi proved himself for the World to see. He scored 4 goals and assisted 5 times.

Statistics don't lie.

Are you sure you watched it? Talk true.

If you did, you would have known that the Netherland squad and our squad played our first game in the same stadium. They had bigger names than us and we later met in a fierce battle in the Quarter finals.

That was a big match because it was against the host and we won them by penalties. A long one. Mikel pulled his boots because of his inflamed ankle .

That was Netherland 2005 World Youth championship. Not South Korea.

Yes Mikel was by far better than Fabregas and Messi in that tournament. Unfortunately, Mikel did not have goals.

Taiwo and Messi got to that list with goals. Mikel did not score in open play and was second. He earned it by pure Ballin'.

But as a whole, I will still take Fabregas as the best player but Mikel is not far behind and he has some memorable games to his name.

Hopefully, he concentrates on football and become one of the greatest strikers Africa had ever produced. He can do it. Drogba is a good model. Ronaldo is a good model for these young talents.
Honestly, this hairstyle of his is uncalled for, there other better hairstyles,if u want to do dreadlocks,do dreadlocks all through, nice dreadlocks, not this type of Agbero dreadlocks. No one has complained about even Mikel's hair styles but admires, even people admires Neymer's hairstyle but I bait anyone would admire this

The same way you think he was better than Fabregas was the same way voters thought and choose Taiwo.

Besides Taiwo scored only two goals. So, that should not be an excuse.

We had many who scored more than him.

Roma Starlet Not Joining Nigeria U23s On Saturday; Trained For One Day With Team

https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/8925Umar.jpg
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Roma teen sensation Sadiq Umar will not join the Nigeria U23s at their training camp in Atlanta, United States on Saturday, July 9.

This website earlier reported that the lanky attacker was considering his future with the team in the wake of the death of his father a day before the Samson Siasia-led side tackled Mexico in a friendly.

The update is that Umar is planning to rejoin the Dream Team but has not yet fixed a date for his trip to America.

The 19-year-old, who is presently in Kaduna, trained with the national team for just one day before he flew to Nigeria.

Hailed as the New Nwankwo Kanu in his homeland, Umar was acquired on a permanent basis by Roma this summer.

Everyone agreed? The last time I checked there was no census to determine btw who agreed and who disagreed. Just 2 or 4 agreed out of 1m Nairaland users.

As you can see, there is no agreement.

Yahaya is better but the statistics said otherwise. So, who is fooling who?

Or are we saying we know better than FIFA or CAF?

Chelsea Talent Ola Aina Turned Down Opportunity To Represent Nigeria At Olympics

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Chelsea defender Ola Aina was sounded out about the possibility of represent Nigeria at the 2016 Olympic Games by emissaries sent by the Nigeria Football Federation.

But the Londoner rejected the Nigerian Federation’s proposal as he is focused on representing the youth teams of his country of birth, England.

At this stage, Ola Aina is not considering switching his international allegiance from England to Nigeria just like that, and it is has been suggested that he might consider the prospect of turning out for the Super Eagles.

At international level, the 19-year-old’s future has been the subject of intense speculation, and his father Olufemi Aina has said that he can’t force him to represent Nigeria as the player is now an adult and can make his own decisions.

The promising youngster recently sorted out his future at Chelsea by putting pen to paper on a new four-year contract.

Mikel confirmed for Rio may force Belgian club to stop Ndidi

by Samm Audu

Thursday Jul 07, 2016. 15:24

Mikel Obi’s confirmation for the Rio Olympics may force Belgian club Genk to stop Wilfred Ndidi from next month’s summer games as they insist on guarantees from coach Samson Siasia their player will see first-team action in Brazil.

Ndidi, 19, is one of several foreign-based stars Siasia is banking on to shore up his team for the Olympics after several other players were stopped by their European clubs.

Siasia has already announced that Chelsea star Mikel has confirmed his participation for Rio, which means he is guaranteed first-team place and with Ndidi also now playing a defensive midfielder, his club do not wish to release him only for him to be warming the bench in Brazil when he could be earning his keep in Belgium.

“Genk want assurances Siasia will use their player, if not they do not see the rationale for him to be at Rio Olympics,” a source told AfricanFootball.com

But an official has reasoned that room could be created for Watford target Ndidi to revert to his old position in central defence particularly as Siasia is rebuilding that position following the long-term injury of Segun Oduduwa.

That tourney to me was one of the best WYC ever stagged. Nigeria also presented one of our best Flying Eagles team. So unforntunate that a player called Lionell Messi was ever born. We would have won the FIFA U20 that year.

The quality in those matches were jst too much. New Zealand 2015 could nt b compared with it.
