I think most people want the interview to continue.

Though my opinion is that most people see it as an avenue to lash out at the contestants.
That aside, it's actually a fine development.
Can you kindly explain the emboldened?

And the "lashing out at others" will continue in a vicious cycle till the end of the contest.

I don't see how that is a fine development.

You see,

I am a diplomatic fellow...
And I let people have their way as long as it doesn't get in my way.
I am not in the habit of forcing my opinion on others.
Otherwise, I'm with you. It should be scrapped.

During the interview session proper on the pageant thread, I was opportune to conduct voice interview for 3 of the contestants.

I could feel the emotion in their voices when they expressed appreciation to those who stood by them when the whole of Nairaland came for their heads.

You see, when you invest a lot of emotion and sacrifice in a cause, no matter how small, and all you get are insults and snide remarks on your person, people digging up old posts (that you made in sheer innocence) just to discredit you, it hurts.
Worse still, the people who perpetrate this are usually good friends who create alt accounts and come after you.

I followed most of the controversies then, but I refrained from commenting because the compassion I felt for them would have caused more violence from my reaction.

I would have said, "let's even scrap miss NL so people will not have to go through harrowing moments just because they signed up for a contest"

But then what is life, and how are we forged to become better individuals if attacks and hate from foes and loved ones do not come up?

I would advise anyone who signs up for this online contest (pre pageant interview inclusive or not) to brace up and take every challenge that comes in good faith. Whether they win or not, they should know that they would be better for it in the end.

Fynestboi boy didn't bring the interview. Actually when he organised a private interview for the contestants, Dygeasy asked him to stop, saying there's already a planned interview in the offing for the contestants.

Go look for the thead, you wasted moronic mandrillus chimpanzee.

This is how you go about making baseless statement like an epileptic major sufferer.

You just assigned yourself Nairaland's chief ïmbecile personified
I asked him to stop because Tosyne2much and Wristbangle were already making plans to commences their own interviews which is more recognized since they've been doing it and they were working with me.

Dygeasy can you see what your decision has caused your team? Don't even feign ignorance of the private email one of the contestants sent you a day before the competition was meant to kick-off. I'm sure you were told to postpone and also asked to cancel the interviews.
If you want to see screenshots here, then just deny and watch your reputation go down the drain.
About three contestants sent me messages that they didn't have their photos and the answers to the profile questions we sent them ready.

You cannot rule out the possibility of those things happening.

I've tried to be high-handed as far as this contest is concerned, some people think I'm overdoing it or too harsh. Some even think I don't have normal human emotions. Lol

If I start laughing with everyone, won't you accuse me of being too friendly and consequently biased?

How can we proceed with a contest in which a good number of the contestants haven't provided their details?

undecided The only thing you're guilty of is being Human.. Which is a good thing..

But if you want a process to be halted, so long as you're not the only one on the council/board/whatever.. Every thing right in this world demands you consult with your team, sort things out first..

All these remarks by other members of your team.. It just shows someone was trying to be a god among kings.. undecided

In my candid opinion. The Mr and Miss Nairaland contest is a tacit waste of time. Imagine most of the contestants are actually student, but, yes but, you never see them partake in contest like The Nairaland Inter-School Debate or The Nairaland Poetry Club Competition.

They always flock around this Mr and Miss Nairaland contest, why, its obvious, because you don't need any ounce of intelligence to win, just get people to campaign for you, and let people vote based on who is popular, then voila!. You're home free!.
Fynestboi is very active in the interschool debate Sir
