I believe Paul Le Guen understands the challenges on ground. He is familiar with African football and knows the strength of our opponents.

That is even why he should begin his hunt for hidden gems while the foreign based players are busy with their clubs. By the time these guys arrive camp, he should already have an idea of those who can break in.

The final preparation will go on with the selected home base players and the foreign players who will make most of the team.

I think we stand more chance if he is coaching and working on his tactics.

Let us see how he starts. Sad Salisu Yusuf refused to work with him. Wish Coach Yusuf the best.

Qualifiers are not for local hidden gems except they find a Lionel messi kind. Time is too short

We should be looking for how to blend the Odubanjos, Isaac Success, Akpom etc that are likely to be part of the qualifiers.

While the foreign players are with their clubs, it is right for Coach Paul Le Guen to stay in Nigeria and monitor local talents.

That does not stop him from keeping track of our foreign talents. It is also better than a coach who will stay in Europe, collecting monthly pay and only come in during qualifiers and tournaments.

I agree with Paul Le Guen here. When the matches are coming, he can invite the talents he spotted and work with them until the foreign talents are available.

I perfectly understand the pt from which u are defending Le Guen.Bt what i am saying is he doesn't have d luxury of time and games Keshi and Oliseh had to experiment on local players.

Nothing wrong in digging out local gems bt he must focus more of his energy on securing d foreign based talents. Like tbaba1234 mentioned Success, Odubanjo and Akpom.Including those foreign grown talents that u TheGoodJoe have always clamoured for us to cap. These are players i personally believe can offer more to Nigeria both on d short and long term.

To b factual, at d senior level there is not much quality in our league. I can only recommend those that are U20.

If the coach does not see quality, then he would not call in anyone. However he must check himself. What we need from him is him constantly looking home and abroad for players to make the team stronger.

The key word is Stronger.

So even if he invites Ovie or Otigba, they will not be available for the coach to work with until they arrive in camp.

During that time, Coach Le Guen can continue his scouting mission for local talents who will make the team stronger.

He works with them, pencils those he feels will help the team. When the team arrives, he does the final screening and selects the best candidates. (Not forgetting to cap Ovie Ejaria.)

That is the normal thing. Coaches will always open camping with local players. Then when d foreign based lads report to camp the local boys are pruned down.

What i dnt want to hear is "we should rely more on the local players". Ordinary CHAN dey could nt qualify from group.

I think Barr. Green was talking in respect of players availability. He foresaw clubs not releasing our key players and advised Coach Siasia to focus on local players.

As for the CHAN, Coach Oliseh takes the blame and not the players. His atrocious selection caused the team not to qualify. Also Coach Oliseh even kept a player like Usman Mohammed from excelling.

With a well selected home based side with good tactics in their arsenal, they will excel in such tournament.

Waoh! From the first day you went hard on me I said to myself 'this is not her real taste.. this must be her outward character which naturally put people off but there must be a place in her heart that is special... Let me find it out.' And today I found it out. You must be a very interesting girl.

Actually, when I first saw your comment I just laughed because of the 60 years old grandpa example you used. I would have replied but I was too busy and I didn't want to reply roughly.

Are you serious! Is sir TheGoodJoe the grandpa? grin or Sir Icon4s the granpfafa? grin

Truly truly or most assuredly, I think I am older than sir TheGoodJoe if what he said about his age is true.

Sir Icon4s! I don't know his age. grin

The prospective captain of the next under 17 has already been offered a pre-contract deal by liverpool before even playing African qualifiers. His representatives are kicking against it, hoping he gets better deals especially after playing the African Tournament and possibly the world cup. I say, he takes the deal, he has now. Nothing is guaranteed.

Simon is out.

As disappointing as it may seem Stanley Dimgba is abt the only recognised natural winger in that team.

Yes Umar. Aminu Umar is another good Am/striker but he is nt a natural winger same goes for Imoh. Sisia would nt want to field non-wingers in both and left and right wings.

I have seen Imoh do well severally on the left wing.
The Right wing is where i have nt seen any descent player apart from Dimgba. Aminu Umar can play in the number 10 positon while Imoh plays as a LWF

Aminu Umar played as a right winger throughout last season and he was fantastic. I will prefer him to play in that position.
As you rightly said, he can also play in the number 10 position.

You are right, Imoh-ezekiel plays on left wing but I was surprised to see him play on the right wing in one of their Europa League matches.

Let me adjust it.

Umar............ Etebor.......... Imoh

Ighalo is a very good striker and I think he is more experienced than Iheanacho and Success. Sodiq Umar and Aminu Umar are also very prolific strikers you can count on any day anytime.

i'm well aware you have to write official letters for these things bro, i was angty, hence the way I came off.

As right as he may be, aren't they all involved in the rot? What are the chances they didn't get a letter and just chose to ignore it? I know what ministries do when they don't like somebody or something. I have a personal experience, too personal even. So, i don't go about swallowing their excuses hook, line and mugu.

I'm not as young as you think, and if I am, i've seen stuff many older people haven't, so using my assumed age against me is a cheap shot.

Like I said, I spoke out of anger, but I don't trust the ministry just as much as I don't trust the NFF and any right thinking Nigerian would ask relevant questions knowing Dalung's antecedents (which you may not be aware of). I may have come off wrongly, but my point stands. They're all shady and incompetent

Good day and Petrobros, glad i'm the only reason you can contribute to a sports topic. You're just here for me, it's charming.

There are grounds for your anger. You could have asked if there was indeed a request from the NFF to the Ministry. If there was, why was it not granted. And if not granted, why did they still travel thinking that all will be well. If you notice, this has always been the problem with our national teams and the Ministry. Truth is, everybody wants to cash in!

Also, most important thing in an institution is that you should always seek an approval before executing an instruction. We do not actually know what really transpired between them. So what you have heard is the Minister's side. But all the same, the essence of the approval is to make necessary arrangements for the project and to know who should be responsible for the project.

I am not absolving anyone here. Am just letting you and everyone know that there is a proper way of doing things and people should be oriented, compelled and guided to do these things the proper way.

To much politics creates room for familiarity. So when there is too much familiarity, people would act irresponsibly. That is why the NFF is messe.d up.

As I said, relying on strictly stats does not tell the story. You just put Flo as a 300,000 pounds attacker but Flo was bigger than that. He was a fine attacker and he was the lead striker of Norway.

There was a time Brazil did a tour before France 98 World Cup and tore teams to shreds. Back then, Romario was still in the squad. During that period, Roberto Carlos was the second best player in the World and scored some fantastic free kicks.

Tore Andre Flo and Ole Gunnar Solksjaer were part of the team who beat that great Brazilian team before the World Cup. I think the score line ended 4-2. The Norwegians put four past the World Champions and World Cup favorite. That drew a lot of respect for the Norwegians, Flo and Solksjaer.

Before Roman took over running Chelsea, Ranieri, current Leicester City Coach was the head Coach of Chelsea and he led Chelsea to the Semi Final of the Champions League and finished second in the EPL table.

Chelsea was a team with top Stars. Running posts can not change it. During Babayaro's stay at Chelsea, it was a higher rated club than Marseille and attracted bigger Stars than Marseille.

When we talk of Desailly, Dennis Wise, Graeme Le Saux, Babayaro, Geremi, Weah, Zola, Poyet, Crespo, Petit, Flo, Hasselbaink, and many more. These were respected names. Marseille could not boast of it.

Saying that Babayaro joined a small club is funny because it was a movement that begun. Babayaro was a big part and stayed all through. Chelsea went up from there. Babayaro was part of the Chelsea team that beat Real Madrid to the Super Cup. He was part of the team that reached the Champions League Semi Finals. He was part of the team that finished second Under Ranieri.

Babayaro = Legend.

Taiwo did not and never reached that level. During Babayaro's time until Taiwo's time, the French Ligue one were not up to the EPL in competition and is not till today.

So you are still trying to fight against the truth. Taiwo did not come close to Celestine's level in football.

There is a reason why there is Baba in Babayaro.

No 1, Celestine Babayaro was bought by a small unknown Chelsea in 1997. True or false?

Yes! Because as at 1997 they were nothing.

No 3, Can Olympics Marseille boasts of a player who won Ballon_d or wearing their Jersey? Yes or No?

Yes ofcourse!

And what about Chelsea fc players? Yes or No? Never

No 3, was Celestine Babayaro an important playerof the Chelsea fc team that reached the Semifinals of UEFA Champions League? Yes or No?

No! because he only played 24 minutes and 83 minutes respectively in the group stage and that was all. He played no part from the round of 16 till the semifinals before they were defeated by a Ligue 1 (Monaco) team you claimed were not competitive.

So, he was inconsequential in that competition. He only played 4 matches in the EPL that same season Chelsea fc came second on the League. Once again, he was inconsequential to the team.

No 4, was Celestine Babayaro a Legend in the EPL, FIFA or CAF? Yes or No?

No! Because he was never recognised or honoured with a single individual medal in those competitions.

Manual Garbage on Ovie Ejaria

“He came to our camp back in 2013, He showed flashes and we were impressed by what we saw in him but he left the camp before the team took shape to complete his move to Arsenal and we moved on” Manu Garba told Owngoalnigeria.com.

” I would have called him up for the U-20s but still again he just joined Liverpool and needed to settle down but his quality and career rise has never been in doubt”.

Only 14 Outfield Players Training With Nigeria U23s Three Weeks Before Opener Vs Japan

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria U23s coach Samson Siasia is sweating on the availability of some key players three weeks before the national team’s opener against Japan at the 2016 Olympic Games.

The likes of Alex Iwobi (Arsenal), Kelechi Iheanacho (Man City), Mikel Agu (Porto) and Godfrey Oboabona (Rizespor) have been ruled out of the Games owing to commitments with their clubs, while Mikel, Ighalo, Ndidi and Moses Simon are doubtful.

As at Wednesday, only 16 players, including 14 outfield players, have showed up at the team’s training camp in Atlanta, United States.

Oghenekaro Etebo (CD Feirense), Daniel Akpeyi (Chippa United), William Troost-Ekong (FK Haugesund) and Kingsley Madu (AS Trencin) have given their assurances that they will link up with the squad in the next few weeks.

Mountain of Fire stopper Erhun Obahor is in Germany to conclude discussions with an unnamed 2 Bundesliga club and should join the squad as from Saturday, July 16.

'He has lots of speed’ – Leicester City’s Ranieri reveals Musa admiration'

By Shina Oludare

The Italian tactician has underlined the importance of adding the Nigerian to his fold ahead next season

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri says the Foxes will be relying on Ahmed Musa for his blistering speed.

The Nigerian joined the reigning English champions from CSKA Moscow having snubbed a host of other English teams.

Ranieri has now revealed that Musa can now join his Royal Air Force to bolster the Foxes forward ranks as they hope to successfully defend their title.

“Musa can bring his speed,” Ranieri told Foxes Player HD. “I don’t know if he’s as quick as Jamie Vardy, but he has lots of speed.”

“It’s very important to have another airplane in our squad. Remember, we are the RAF and we’ve signed one of them!”

Leicester City kick off their season against Manchester United in the FA Community Shield on August 7, 2016.

They begin their title defence a week later against Hull City before hosting Arsenal at the King Power Stadium.

Welcome to #lcfc, Ahmed Musa! #premierleague #leicester

Levadiakos Open Talks With Olympiakos Over Michael Olaitan

Michael Olaitan whose career was almost cut short by an on field slump is reportedly in talks with Greek side Levadiakos over a move from his parent owners Olympiakos.

Talks with Levadiakos are reportedly at an advanced stage as he currently doesn’t feature in manager Victor Sanchez plans and they are reports he could be allow to leave the club on a permanent transfer for free.

Olaitan hasn’t played for Olympiakos since his unfortunate slump in 2014 in the middle of their derby clash with Panathinaikos and he has since then endured three loan spells in three different countries starting in Greece where he spent the second part of the year 2015 on loan to Ergotelis.

23 year old Olaitan played for two clubs last season in two separate loan spells in the Netherlands and in Belgium respectively making 15 appearances for FC Twente before moving to Kortrijk in January where he made 7 appearances all in his bid to get back to his best after the health scare of 2014.

The former Nigeria U-20 forward is however relaxed over his future as he is taking his time with the offer from Levadiakos before giving his consent to the move and they are reports of interest from other teams.

His current contract with Olympiakos is set to run till the summer of 2017.

Ogana Pushing To Gain First Team Attention With Scoring Streak For Braga B In Pre Season

Louis Ogana is doing his chances of joining the senior team of Portuguese side Sporting Braga a whole lot of good with his goal scoring run for the B team in pre season games.

Ogana five days ago scored in the B team 3-1 friendly win over Penafiel and yesterday the 20 year old Nigerian scored the second goal in their 5-1 thrashing of Moreirense in another pre season game.

Signed 12 months ago from third division side Ribeirao where he was one of the top scorer in the division with 15 goals, it took him time to settle down into his new surrounding at Braga B in the second division.

He however ended the season on a high with 8 goals for the B team and his present goal rate in pre season games could earn him a call up to the first team of the Portuguese giants.

His elevation to the main team according to followers of the Portuguese team could be fast tracked if he carries his goal scoring streak into the league.

BREAKING: Former Flying Eagles Captain Joins Dutch Side Roda JC Kerkrade

Abduljelil Ajagun who was recently deemed surplus to requirement by Greek side Panathinaikos has pitched tent with Dutch top division side Roda JC Kerkrade on a one year deal, the club has announced on their official website.

Delighted by his capture the technical director of the Dutch side Ton Caanen described Ajagun as a fast and offensive midfielder who also guarantees goals, a quality he feels makes his capture a coup by the modest Dutch club.

The former Nigeria U-17 star who also featured in two U-20 World Youth Championship and captained the 2013 set has been at Panathinaikos since 2013 and caught the eyes of Roda when he scored against fellow Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League.

Predominantly a central midfielder he scored 14 goals for Panathinaikos in the 58 games he played for the Greek side and at Roda he has been handed the jersey number 14 for the new season.
