Mumz, helovesme, sheweezy, joysa thanks so much. I've changed all her skin care products. But I'm still looking for dove sensitive soap. Rofemiguwa, pls can u post d exact pic of d one u got for Pristine. Pls should I still be using savlon in her water I stopped. I just wanted to find the cause. But her skin is better but it can still be better than this.

Did you also change her diapers brand and wipes? It's really important that you do.

I use dettol for my son from birth till date. I actually request for mine to be sent from nigeria. I think the Nigerian dettol is "stronger" and more effective lipsrsealed

if i lay hands on that your baby i will force pap down his throat and give him amala for lunch. The semo will be for dinner..... cheesy

Truly though to each his own!

I will also assume that your geographical location allows* you access to plenty medemede grin

My second son's creche had a nice/decent amala joint right across from it. One of the carers would help me buy a wrap with just their ewedu for him. He probably would finish half of it at a go! LOL

Funny thing is his current staple diet/favourites do not include swallows except he has no choice!!!!!1

Hahahhahahahahahaha.

You are lucky that you can easily get freshly prepared lunch for him at a restaurant.

You know I'm team #fitfam hence all the "medemede" grin

Mamas pls i have some questions o.

- What brand of breast pump do you recommend? The one that wont hurt my nipples. I'm thinking of getting Tomme Tippee manual pump. I want sth not more than 9k. If there is anyone way cheaper and effective, the better for me.

- How soon can someone travel by air locally after a c-section? And how soon i can travel by air locally with baby?

- If i'm travelling with baby by air, do i need to carrier? Anyone has any idea what kind of carrier is approved?

Sorry for my plenty questions. Pls senior mamas, help me with answers kiss kiss kiss

Newborns fly well but they usually don't recommend anything less than 2-3 weeks because most doctors don't want you exposing that fragile, low-immunity human to a world of germs so soon. But that is a choice you must make. I think you should call ahead after buying your ticket and ask for a travel bassinet. They usually give first come, first served and I've actually not even seen once used in a Domestic flight here. So call and confirm you can by one. If not, you may be told to buy an extra seat for a carseat. You have to give your baby some sort of liquid when taking off due to the change in pressure (feed it or have the baby suck on something). Or the child will scream in pain and be miserable because their ears are popping. The younger, the easier air travel is. They will sleep as newborns but dance around as toddlers.

The most important thing last: You should ask your doctor to clear you for travel after your surgery. Someone we know had her baby, flew back (domestic) a few days or a week after and died 2 hours after getting home. Stress. My mum got to her place to greet her and the baby and met everyone trying to resuscitate her. She had waited long for that child and rushed home, I don't know why. Her husband cried whilst stuck in traffic trying to reach her. Surgery is not something to mess with.

Good morning mamas, how are our babies doing?

I came here to complain before and I was asked to do kegel. It's 4 months after delivery and my virginal is still open. I fart from my virginal and it's so embarrassing. After bath, I feel water coming out from my virginal. Please, what should I do.?

Thanks.

Sorry about this it can be so embarrassing! Keep doing the kegel theres nothing much you can do asides that undecided with time your pelvic floor will tone up.

The water coming out is it only after bathing? Could it be urine? Maybe you are having incontinence? Don't have any other idea as to what may cause this aside incontinence which the kegel will also resolve.

Queefing is normal after vaginal birth because of trapped air.
Your kegels will help
Add squating too, nothing rigorous just do it little by little here and there.
As for the water i have no idea !

Yes, it's after bathing, it's not urine, I'm guessing it may be the water I used in washing that place.

I think that place wasnt properly stitched after delivery because it's no longer tight both the entrance and inside.

Thanks

I think the only problem with dettol is people dont know the right quantity to use. Just one drop is enough. But some pour it in too much. That is why to play safe, people just opt for savlon cus its mild.

I totally agree with you. With dettol, a little goes a long way.

To be honest, I'm just hearing for the first time on this forum that dettol is "harsh". It's a favourite with mothers that choose to use disinfectants when bathing their babies at my end.

By now (2 weeks old), I think you should be drinking more formula per feed. At least 60ml.

Attached is the guide for aptamil. Please note that it's only a GUIDE just as they've stated. Your baby may feed more or less.

They claim 90ml for a child of 2 weeks but not all babies drink that much at that age. So I will suggest you increase the quantity gradually. Start with 40-50ml, see if he finishes it and then take it from there. If he does finish it, prepare say an additional 10ml - 20ml and see if he will finish that.

As your baby is not getting breast milk, it's really important he gets all the formula he needs to ensure he's not left hungry.

30 ml of formula 6 times in 24 hrs is underfeeding in my opinion! That's like 30ml every four hrs? To be sure is it the one scoop you count as 30 ml or the water quantity you mixed it with? After feeding is he content? Or does he cry?
Since your bm is not enough to augment his feeding I'd say up it to 60ml every 2hrs! If he doesn't finish it then you can reduce to 30ml but please feed more frequently. Give water after feeding so the water doesn't go and occupy space for food that will nourish him, follow his cue on quantity to give stop when he pushes off! Don't give him more water than the food he is consuming.

You obviously didn't read the feeding guide on the formula tin, if you did you wouldn't be feeding him just one scoop at 2week old sad
Keep putting him to the breast it will run eventually, the stress you are going thru with your episio may have affected your supply and please try and relax get help also! Your baby needs His mummy to be strong. Get well soon dear kiss

Sometimes BM doesn't come. It's okay. You could keep trying to nurse the baby but please feed him with formula. Feed on demand, if he cries, give him food. Use the guide given at the back of the tin of formula to mix it.

Pls, rest is all u need to make ur BM flows properly. like me pap doesn't have effect on my BM production but watermelon and lots of water did d trick for me. Keep nursing and have enough rest.
from my research, reason for taking pap is becos it can easily be taken unlike water that if not thirsty, its always difficult to go down at times. Taking liquid is just d main thing but not necessarily pap or tea.

In another news, my baby has been down with cold (cough and cattarh) for d past two weeks now, so this morning I called d family Dr and he advised against the use of Eucalyptus Oil for steaming, (it works but d effect doesn't last) that I should use ordinary hot water fr his steaming, and true to his claim I can see d different after using ordinary hot water.
Just saying this for other mamas to try.

I would give him about 5 to 10 ml of water between his formula. Though some people are advocates of no water at all for babies. Bur I feel because of the formula it's better to support with some water to prevent constipation.

Does the formula fill him up per meal? Then there's no immediate pressure to increase the quantity per feed. For now at least.

Don't pressure yourself as per bm. After he's formula fed you can offer the bobby to stimulate production but at least you're sure he's well fed already.

Remember a balanced diet and some rest also helps with bresst milk production. Take it easy please.it gets easier as time goes on.

Personally, I think 10months is too early.

Milo is too sweet and it's also fattening. Your baby might end up preferring it to water.

I think it's best you wait till he's a year+ before introducing it.
