[quote author=amb001 post=47522356]Good morning House,
Please who knows abt the rating of Memorial University of Newfoundland. I've read very terrible ratings on d internet on HW the profs. are nt friendly n helpful, and poorly its certificate is rated in Canada. However, the pull i hv towards the sch is its "ridiculously" very low tuition. Newfoundland is also terribly cold, for this reason I dnt seem to care much.

Pls, seniors in Canada, is MUN a gd choice?

good people please help.

Sorry about that! It's well. Did you request for GCMS notes?

[/b]Praise The Lord everyone!
I got my medical mail some minutes back.
Points to note:
1. Humans are insatiable. For very long I was worried of being delayed cos my app is 13+wks. Currently I'm worried of how long my medical would take before the embassy receive it and ask for my passport. Am I serious at all?
2. Applications are being attended to at random. When apps come in, they are shared amongst attendants/VO's apparently. Each VO has his/her own efficiency rate. You may submit before someone but that person would get medical/approval before you cos of the speed difference between your attendant and his. We should stop worrying and start praying for the specific attendants on our cases for God-speed.
3. Everything has it's time. When this thread was still young, online route was exceptionally the best. Currently paper route is leading the pack. I don't know the reason for this, but I'll personally advice upcoming applicants to use the paper route for swiftness. Who knows, online route may rise again next year, as everything has it's time...just monitor the trend of your time.
4. Do upfront medicals. If you know you are really sure of coming to Canada. That is, even if they delay you once/twice you will still try again aka Canada is do-or-die. DO UPFRONT MEDICALS BEFORE APPLYING. Currently I am trying to do my medicals cos I didn't know this before hand. If not for medicals, today would have been my passport request. I bless my God still, at all at all na e bad pass.
That being said, please I need expert advice regarding my medicals @thesoj, @Onyeoma3, @Siga, @justwise, @daveboiz and any other helpful individual

To all those who got their approval mails recently I say congratulations, it's time to start with ticket Booking and sort yourself out. For those recently denied, don't give hope, another trial may secure it for you.

adeolams:
Hi Guys,

My TRV was approved yesterday 13th.

Masters degree
Submitted 11th of May Paper Route

Medical Call: 13th of June
Medicals done: 15th of June
Medical Passed: I wasn’t interested, because I didn’t link my app online

Approval Mail: 13th of July
Processing Time: 9weeks

Financial proof:
Bank statements of two accounts (Dad)
Sponsorship letter from my Dad
Land properties documents
Tax clearance receipts.

Education and other docs:
BSc statement of result and transcript from Nigeria
MSc certificate and transcript from Uk
WAEC certificate
Birth certificate.
Police Clearance Certificate
NYSC Certificate
Conditional acceptance Letter
Print out of Application Page showing I have been accepted unconditionally.
Attendance certificate of my first master’s graduation
All applicable CIC forms

N.B:
1. I didn’t pay tuition fees before applying.
2. I paid for my flight ticket a month before I submitted my application (Funny right?...I was positive. I have saved almost 638,000naira compared to the recent flight fees)
3. I did all research and findings myself with no help. Google was my best friend
4. I have also not been involved in any activity since August last year (I did my first master’s graduation in July came back home August) so I did not get a study leave letter/letter of introduction from any work place. My understanding and research of Study gap is 2007-2011, 2013-2015: what where you doing in 2012?
5. Going for my second Master’s degree and not PhD. My BSc, first master’s and second are all related in the same field.
6. I did not write any SOP or letter of explanation to convince the VO that I would come back. (To be honest I am not coming back….lol! wink)
7. I did not also include my personal bank statement.
8. All the documents I submitted were photocopies except my dad’s bank statements and conditional letter of Acceptance.
9. My dad’s account that I used had less than 5million, combi of the two accounts. But there are lots of inflow and outflow in them.
10. I had a very imperfect application, I omitted one of my siblings in the form that had study questionnaire. (was so worried at first but I believed all will be fine)
11. I dint submit any birth certificate of my siblings, I have plenty of them. Two are based abroad and I didn’t include their bio-data to show their status abroad.
12. I didn’t not include my dad and mum bio data or travel history stamps or visas.
13. I didn’t link my application online, I felt receiving emails from CIC was better and less stressful.
14. I didn’t do upfront medicals cause I felt hearing from them will make me feel that all will be well.
15. I had like four certifications I never included in my application because I felt it wasn’t necessary.
16. I have been to the states just once with my 2yrs visa that expired in June during my app.
17. The sponsorship letter I submitted had a lot of alterations in black pen because no time to reprint and re-sign, my dad was too busy during that time.
18. We all can only try our best, no one can have a perfect application.
19. Pardon me for any mistake in my write-up. Rushing cheesy grin

I submitted my application before I discovered this forum, after I read a lot of comments here and what people submit, I was so scared, because I didn’t include so many things. But I believed in God and stayed positive. Please don’t be discourage to chase your dreams, the sky is your starting point. I hope this will be useful to someone.

Thanks for your time and all the best!!

Pls kindly share your field for Ugrad and first master and that of your intended second master as i too already possess a masters degree from uk and quiet disturbed by some of the comments here about ones level of study being applied for

We really need PGC/PGD applicants to come and give their testimony right here on this forum because it baffles me for a VO to delay an application just because u r going for a PGC/PGD, we need applicants to request for their GCMS to really know the main reason for the delay and not conclude that they r delayed because they r going for a PGC/PGD and my last advise is to always apply for a program that is related to ur 1st degree, I noticed most people applying to colleges always apply to study Human Resources Management.

Good afternoon all, I am back again here since end of May 2016..I submitted online route since 28th May, 2016. I haven't got any mail from CIC regarding medicals or any other information..Should I be worried since Its not up to 2 months yet?. Is it possible to do upfront medicals in any CIC designated hospital?. Is there anyone who submitted online route at same time who has been called for medicals?. Any thing I could do to speed up the process as school is due to start at September 1st 2016.

Thank you all for the anticipated feedback.

I honestly don't know why people make a fuss about this issue of PGC/PGD.

There are lots of people both in the past and in the present that have gotten trv with these programs. It's not a sin to want to pursue PGC/PGD.

Those who have been delayed should request for their gcms notes and find out what's wrong with their app.

Yes, it easier for the masters applicants because they're going for pure academic exercise except the few ones among them going for professional masters degree like MBA. So most often than not the VOs don't really pay attention to their future prospects as long as there is program consistency. And let's face it getting a masters admission no be beans. The difficulty/competitiveness of masters admissions sometimes weigh in to convince these VOs.

If you're going for PGD/PGC on the other hand you need to submit an airtight application.

Admission for masters is competitive and difficult.... Trv is easier. They hardly have to proof that they're genuine students.

Admission for PGD/PGC is easy but trv is more complex and difficult.

Govt of Canada is just being thorough with PGC/PGD trv applications to weed out non genuine students.

Myself I finished with a reasonable GPA.....getting a masters admission wouldn't have been my problem, I have seen people with far lesser GPA secure masters admission. Buh I am inclined to upgrade my professional career. am not really interested in an academic exercise in masters for now. Maybe in the future sha.

Do the needful, submit your application and hope for the best. Either PGC/PGD or masters we all have a chance in securing trv.
