I really appreciate this writeup about GTBank.. Seriously this is too bad, looking at GTBank from outside, some people think that they are paying their staff very well but they did not understand. Is it a bad thing to be an HND holder? They do contract staff as if we are nobody, they gave us big target ( marketing 1,200 accounts monthly for just 2 contract staff), send us out for marketing without T fare, no promotion, low salary, no car loan or house loan and still pay us less than 80k per month. Now everything is cost and the salary still remain the same. Anyway, I think is time to say our mind.. Let us send a mail to the directors, and the ogas at the top with a diff email ( untraceable). One thing I will always do is Thanking God bcs I don't depend on GTbank. I have my own unstressful, low capital and easy doing biz giving me more that X2 of my salary every month which is plan B and soon will turn to Plan A. Guy free youself and start working on your plan B. If you what to know what am doing, kindly send a mail to olawale.opeyemiola@gmail.com. Thanks guys and God Bless.. |

In Nigeria of today an employed job cant really get u all you want not to talk of the treatment most employers give to workers especially those on contract. For any one who cares i could get u hooked up to a platform that cld help you create a business system for yourself. Sadly our education system has prepared us to take our cv's about searching for jobs that dnt exist. You need to start thinking outside the box n stop being modern slaves to these useless masters. Sorry to hear about this mate, I and my former colleagues at Mtn call centre suffered the same fate back then, but I thankGod for where I am today. Maybe you guys can start a campaign on blogs and Twitter, that may help out, maybe the MD and other stakeholders would come to your aid, but be very discreet and smart about it...use a ghost IP address machine that would not be traceable to you so your identity can be hidden. |

Ever since Segun Agbaje became MD of that bank, he has successfuly introduced slavery mentality and sycophancy as the watchword of that Bank. God bless Tayo Aderinokun and Fola Adeola. They created a workplace environment that their staff could die for. GTBank under Segun is not different from working in a Gestapo Camp. Truth be told, GTBank has a work place is merely riding on past glory. Working under Tayo is a different ball game in comparison with working under Segun agbaje. Tayo was a leader and a mentor, Segun is just a slave driver. The bank has lost a lot of competent and experienced hands to competitors. Most especially Access Bank. No wonder Access Bank's result keeps improving on a yearly basis and GTBank has been flat in the last 3years. Customers of that great brand that Fola and Tayo created should know that GTBank is servicing them with the blood and tears of most of their staff. |

This post stared up some emotions in me. While it is a known fact we do not have a reasonable government with our interest at heart, we can look at other means of getting justice for this kind of inhuman working condition. There are reputable law firms in the country that will easily put a spotlight on all of these and make sure you guys are treated well with sane working hours. Approach Festus Keyamo chamber, Falana and some A list chambers. They will be your voice and also ensure normalcy is returned to your work place. I tried this with a colleague in my work place who filed for defamation, he was hugely compensated for it. God heal our land and make our troubles go away. Amen. |

They don't care if you die there! It's a cult and those 'managers' will always do everything possible to ensure you deliver, otherwise they answer to 'the lord bosses at the nocturnal meetings'. The Bible has warned about giants, GT & co are modern day giants. Get out and get a llife! |

No wonder Sterling bank customer service is very poor. The Management has made their staff to be sharing their CVs to customers instead of attending to then. This is really embarrassing! But we got no choice. Who wants to remain a slave. I spend the time I am supposed to use to serve customers surfing the web searching for jobs, who lose, the management, because they will not get value for employing me. I just do my work without initiative nor tacts, I just do what I am told to do, that's all! At least before the set of people you recruited will come to a substantial level of skills, you would have paid dearly for it with customers rating which you claimed to value so much dropping to near 20%. The work place is now a nightmare, I just don't want to go back to that office the next day. I can't imagine the rational that makes someone coming into the system whom I will train to be receiving 204,000 monthly and having a future, while me the trainer will be collecting peanuts and with no prospect. Before you tell me to resign, i will resign. But we still have other 99% that will keep sabotaging the bank by poor service, till they do the right thing. |

/ What OP described is not slavery. The employees have the luxury of resignation. Any smart fellow will know that if he ever works for any organization in Nigeria, the first year salary should be dedicated to starting a side venture because of the unpredictable nature of Nigeria employers. But what do you have? They start living large and when the illusion clears, they are back to square one--no savings, no jobs. \ |
