Nairaland remains a wonderful concept, but not doing anything to curb tribalism is an error of judgement on the part Seun. All over the world, it is illegal to be racist, I see no much difference between racism and tribalism.

I repeat tribalism on NL has reduced to a large extent, probably due to fear of ban. What is obtainable today is nothing compared with the days of toxic and venomous tribal bashing.

Most of you are just being hypocrites. Some of us that even vent out our tribalistic tendencies are better off. We all have our animosities and stereotypes against other ethnicities, some of you only hide it in public and discuss it in your closets.

Some people were making noise didn't make them veterans.

Anyway, I was given a long ban by Seun and his mods on account of their new law. I had to watch proceedings on NL from the sidelines for days, especially this particular topic.

I was extremely impressed by the rebuttals the Igbos here gave to that Igbo hating Ijaw man and his new found Yoruba friends, you lots were indeed formidable, I was laughing all through.

Ikechuku takes no prisoners at all.

Anyway, I will soon be leaving NL permanently in a few days, I have been forced to use other platforms to continue this our fight against those who would wish to re write our history and paint the Igbo black.

But I am overjoyed to know that Igbo interests and integrity will always be violently protected here by a formidable Igbo unit that is well armed with all the requisite info needed for such task.

I am also grateful to NL and Seun for affording me the opportunity to be a part of this forum, I learnt alot from this forum.

I had wanted to deactivate my account, but on a second thought I decided to leave it intact, for posterity sake.

It will be the highest hypocrisy if I fail to mention that tribalism and ethic jabs are also part of the fun of NL, that you might not really get elsewhere, except on Vanguard online and probably Facebook. In the midst of the jabs, we learn one or two things. Atimes some jabs make you to read up on such jabs and you will come back to give a merciless counterjabs. . Veterans will understand what i am talking about.

Government agencies, political parties, security agencies and even print media now know that anyone that ignores NL is doing so at his or own peril. This is a classical example of online forum that has given power to the youths and masses. Here, we can report any agency or personnel of government or corporation or individuals that misbehaves in real time without any fear of harassment, which was prevalent in the days of the likes of Fela and Gani Fawehinmi.

By and large, I have learnt a lot from NL in the last 10years. While growing up, I was never interested in who were our forefathers as Africans, who we were as a people, the events that led to the amalgamation of North and South, the civil war, Awo, Zik, Ahmadu Bello or Oduduwa. The contributions of all from every nook and cranny of Nigeria challenged me to read up, to separate the truth from fallacy. I had to read virtually every book or write up ever written on Nigerian Civil War, Pre and post-independence era, the days of the Evil Genius Maradona, the dark days of Abacha and the emergence of the 4th republic democracy in Nigeria. I also picked interest in the top 5-7 ethnicities in Nigeria and I had to read up on their histories too.

Seun thanks for creating this forum. It has been an avenue for youths to air their opinion freely, demand better governance and forge a better country for ourselves. Even the ethnic jabs is forcing all parties to have mutual respect for ourselves despite all the animosities and probably collaborate to achieve an objective of a better country.

10yrs? You really have balls. Funny enough, I see/view nairaland as an anti-northen forum were baseless lies against the north/northerners are propagated everyday by people who know nothing about the north/northerners, and it should my 3rd/4th year here. At some point I almost deactivate my account, what? I deactivated it but I couldn't complete the deactivating process because I just couldn't remember the password I used for the email account I opened my nairaland account with, so I had to just give up.

That been said, nairaland have been educative, enlightening, entertaining and informative. Kudos to seun and his esteem team of moderators who gave birth to a forum like this, where the average Nigerian can express his freedom of speech freely, without any fear. Nairaland is still a work in progress because I believe there are many things yet to be done by seun.
