Hello all,

We have been called by friends, family and everyone who has our contacts that our raising funds for Mayo is a scam. We were also informed that some persons had made statements concerning her state and her ability to pull through this ordeal.

As a family we wish to make these affirmative statements:

· Mayowa is presently in LUTH receiving treatments that will prepare her for 7hr trip to Abu Dhabi. We have also engaged the services of the Flying Doctors to accompany her on the trip based on recommendation by the Doctors in LUTH (Form attached)

· Mayowa is receiving treatment in LUTH to allow her be able to travel as advised by the Doctors in LUTH and she has been transfused to help improve her PCV

· The funds are solely for Mayowa’ s treatment and for no other reason.

· We await her Visa for travel documents to commence the journey as we are in touch with the doctors abroad and they are awaiting her arrival.

We appreciate the contributions made by Nigerians on this journey. Mayowa will live to tell this story and you shall be one of the audiences by His grace.

Please support us with prayers as you will surely be told the success story as we have not given up on Mayowa living her life and we will never give up until the work God has started is finished.

Thank you once again and will provide updates on her treatment and procedures.

From the stories so far, the TRUTH remains that Mayowa is ill and battling for life.
And as such, neither her family nor herself has given up yet. So, she needs our help (financially & others) to continue the battle.

There is no such thing as "beyond Treatment" even if the lady had a 0.5% chance of living, the family did the right thing by making efforts to seek a second opinion and treatment elsewhere. the argument that she wasn't invited or had no visa is a silly one, most US hospitals would seek for full payment before a letter of invitation for visa processing is given to a non citizen, the Complete Monies were barely raised 2 days ago....

Linda Ikeji was extremely insensitive on this issue..

As long as there is life, there is hope. No matter how slim the hope is, it must be lost. This is a family that is frantically battling to save their daughter's life. As at now, we don't know if the fund received so far is going to be used for the intended purpose or not. Is it not a bit early to tag them as scam? I think it's incredibly evil and insensitive of Linda to tag a family as fraud. She does not know a fraction of what they're going through yet she's putting them so much humiliation. All for what? Traffic? Is calling out a distressed family worth the traffic? This is not the first time Linda Ikeji will shamelessly drag people through the mud but in this case she has sunk to an all new low.

I just visited linda's site now , she actually said the story was scam.She directly accused them of scamming Nigerians.She made no mention of another page.Yes,she was indeed insensitive.

I think your judgment is already prejudiced to paint Linda as a bad person. It doesn't matter if the lady is breathing her last breath, if it's a fraud, its a fraud.

First, what was the intended use for the money? If the family came out to ask for funds, with the pre knowledge that the Doctors had already said there is nothing that can be done medically, then it's fraud.

Except they explicitly stated that the doctors had already given up and the money was to seek for alternatives or sustenance, which I doubt, this is a fraud!

I've never seen the need for crowd funding critically ill people. Isn't it more realistic to manage them and give them comfortable passing? 7 billion humans and at least a billion sick and poor. Do we not have a duty to help those who cannot get to the media? And an even greater duty to help those who have a fighting chance and will require much less resources?

must we only raise money for ppl that are near death situation? why is Linda ikeji calling it a scam when the girl in question has cancer? if you are the family will u just sit down and accept anything the doctor tells u without trying out other options? finally even with your donation there is always a chance that the person can still die. my point is Linda is in no position to say that it is a scam except of course the girl in question doesn't have cancer
