" Wedding? What the hell is happening here?" I tried to get up but felt some invisible hand push me back. " What is going on?"

The white man looked exasperated. " Mara!"

The angel glided into the room. Beautiful is not enough to describe her, her lips were full and luscious, her skin was so white i could see my face in it. She had long jet black hair that fell down to her waist. She looked so tantalizing standing there in her bridal gown.


" What is it Dad? " She pouted.

" He doesn't remember anything, why is that?" Allen asked.

" I took away his memory that's why"

My heart skipped a beat.

" Please princess restore it" Allen begged his daughter.

" No dad! He belongs to me now! "

" Restoring his memory does not take him away from you"

She pouted and placed her palm on my head. I felt an electric bolt run through my body.

" Allen? "

He laughed. " Welcome back. we have to hurry"

" What are you doing here?"

'' You still don't remember a thing? Mara!"

" Okay, okay dad!".

She placed her palm on my forehead again.

I could remember everything now, my God! i have to save Chantelle. I remembered Don' s boys dragging me on the beach, they had fired a shot on my chest. Don! i seethed in anger.


" Who is she?" i asked.

" Your bride" Allen said.


I sat up. " My bride?"

" You see, once you stepped into that Town with me your soul automatically became mine. If you die here on earth your soul will return under the sea to work for us".


I felt goosebumps on my body. " Why didn't you tell me?"

" You never asked. Your soul left earth a week ago, but a week is five minutes in our own realm and your soul returned to us. Mara immediately fell in love with you. She is my favorite daughter, i couldn't refuse when she asked to own your soul."


I closed my eyes. " What does she want from me?"

" She now owns your soul so therefore she is now your mistress."

" Are we still on earth?" i asked stupidly.

" Yes we are. Put on your tux, a wedding awaits us."

How do i get myself out of this mess? " Allen please can you give us a minute"?

He walked out of the room.


" Hi. Am Kojo"

" I know your name and everything about you! i have the deed to your soul, don't even think about sweet talking your way out of this wedding!"

God! " Am excited about the wedding, i just want to know my bride" i lied.

" We have enough time after the wedding!"

This girl is something else. " Please can we return to my house after the wedding?"

She pondered over it. " As long as we are together, i see no reason why we can't. Now put on that tux and meet me downstairs!" She walked out of the room banging the door after her.

My God. From the skillet to the fire! how do i save Chantelle with a bride breathing down my back?

After the disaster wedding, Mara took hold of my hand and we found ourselves in my house. That night she wanted us to make love but i begged her to give us some time. I woke up the next morning to see all the glasses and mirrors in my house broken. She said they made her upset. My plan now is to go after Don and rescue Chantelle.



" Don't even think about it" Mara said.


I didn't know when she entered the room, i was Dressing up that night when she said it.

" Think of what sweetheart?"

" You are not leaving this house"

" I am the head here and i dictate for us not you" i said bravely.


" Shut up!" She screamed.

I felt something lift my feet up and slam me against the wall. I sit up, propping my back against the wall groaning in pain. She rushed to my side.

" Are you alright?"

" What was that for? how do you expect this marriage to work out if you keep treating me like this?"

" Am sorry, i don't want to lose you or kill you in anger. "

My eyes almost popped out of its Socket.

" Mara before you i had a life, i had people i cared for and i want us to be one."

She sobbed and held me tight.This approach seems to be working.

" I don't want us to have a mistress_ sub relationship. i want us both to have equal rights and i promise not to do anything to hurt you" i kissed her softly on her soft luscious lips.

" You promise not to ever leave me?"

I sighed inwardly. " I promise"

" I also promise to do what ever you desire and make you happy."

She lifted me up and i resumed dressing while she sat on the bed looking at me with puppy eyes. I kissed her softly again and slipped out of the room.

I drove down to an underground shop where i bought a new gun. I hid it under my car seat and drove down to Lome. It was almost 1. am when i got to Lome. I remembered Chantelle' s home address so it was no problem locating her house. I tucked my gun into my jean and parked my car few feets away from the house. I unlocked the tiny black gate from inside. i brought out Mara' s hair pin and picked the lock on the entrance door. I brought out my gun and stealthily entered the spacious living room. A light flicked on and before me stood an apparition holding a pestle in both hands. She moved back in fright on seeing the gun in my hand but her eyes never left my face.

" Kojo'' She whispered.

" It is me, i won't harm you please drop the pestle".

" What do you want?" She cried. " Turn around and leave at once!"

" Ama please. Am dropping my gun" I placed the gun on the ground lifting both hands up.

" What do you want?"

" Chantelle she is......your daughter right?"

Ama nodded sobbing.

" Its okay, she is my friend"

Her eyes widened in shock.

" No not that friend" i said.

She nodded again and sat down still holding the pestle, i lowered myself into the sofa opposite her.

" Some men came to drag her off about a week ago. I have notified the police but we haven't found her yet". She said a midst sobs.

Mensah had abducted his own niece. How do i tell her? a thought suddenly nagged at me and i shifted uncomfortably in the sofa. Who is Chantelle' s father?


" She is mine right.....?"

Ama looked away and confirmed my fears."So why are you here and with a gun!"


" I......she......she um, she called me last week but the call disconnected before she could say anything. She sounded scared" i stammered out the lies.


" Yea right! so you came in the middle of the night with a gun,! please leave my house and stay away from us!"


" Ama am sorry. Am sorry for everything."

" Please just go! if my daughter doesn't return home to me safe and sound i will report you to the authorities. Now leave!"


I got up and picked up my gun. " Ama please hear me out"

" Out!" She screamed.


I walked out of the room with my head bowed in shame. I had come very close to sleeping with my own daughter, i have not been there for her for twenty whole years and now she has been abducted by her own uncle. I got us all into this mess.

I don't know how long i ran, my hair was disheveled, I looked like a mad woman but i kept running. I don't know how i escaped from the inferno without a single burn and i don't know where am even running to. I rounded a corner and almost ran into a car. The car swerved dangerously and parked. My God! they have found me already. I stopped running, i know i couldn't run for long without them catching up with me, a hand touched my shoulder and i screamed in fright. When i saw who the hand belonged to i collapsed in relief and fainted in his arms.

I couldn't believe my luck.I would have ran her down if i hadn't swerved in time. I kept checking her pulse to see if she was still alive. her heavy breathing comforted me, i don't know what the future held for us but i was content. its not everyday a man finds out he has a beautiful twenty years old daughter. I carried her into my living room and stopped short when i saw Mara standing in an angelic flowing gown.

" Who is that!" She screamed.

" Mara, honey, this is my daughter"

She walked towards us in a slow sultry way like she was dancing a smooth dance with a lover. But her eyes were blood red. " Take her back! i don't want her here!"

" Sweet heart but you promised to...."

She let out a piercing scream and all the funitures in the room rose up into the air and came crashing with a heavy thud. The room started spinning and i fell to the floor with my daughter in my arms. Mara suddenly stopped screaming and the house went still.

" We are one now, she can stay." Mara said.

I got up on shaky legs and carried Chantelle to the guest room. She was burning up with fever. I don't know how she had escaped from Don' s claws but i was happy to have her with me. i borrowed her my PJ and shirt and spoon fed her. I watched my baby girl sleep with tears misting my eyes. No wonder she looked so much like Pam. Pam, another woman i had failed to protect.

" I burnt it down"

Mara had walked into the room without me knowing again.

" What did you burn sweetheart? "

" Your enemy' s lair"

" My enemy?. What do you mean?"

" You will find out soon enough" She glided out of the room again.

I sat down on the bed beside my daughter. She looked so beautiful. I pray Ama forgives me, it couldn't have been easy raising up a child single handedly with no support. how had she survived for the past 20 years? I know i have wrong Ama greatly.

I don't know why I'm thinking about this but, if I remember correctly the two herbalists refused helping Kojo because they sensed that his calling was way bigger than quick riches (they couldn't interfere with God's plan for him).

Obviously, him being the main character and all gives him a better chance of shutting down the evil President and maybe the underworld devil. Forgiving Mensah AKA Don is possible, they are family after all.

Episode 11

Chantelle

I woke up in a strange bed with my head pounding. I started coughing and i felt a strong masculine hand lifting me into his arms. he patted my back gently while the cough racked my body.

" Kojo" i whispered." Thank you"


He handed me a glass of water and some aspirin. I washed the aspirin with down with the cold water. I closed my eyes, i don't know what had set off the fire at the n*ked club. i was alone in the room that had been assigned to me when i heard the screams and pandemonium. I peeked and saw that there was no body guard at my door. I felt the heat hit me with a full force before i even stepped into the dancing hall, the club was ablaze. I saw unclad bodies trying to escape, the roof was almost caving in. I took of my top, now clad only in my panties and bra, i melted in with the crowd. I still don't know how i was able to escape without a single burn on my body.

" Kojo there was a fire. I was so scared i won't make it out alive"

" Shhs baby girl, you dont have to talk about it now" Kojo said soothing me.

I don't know where Kojo was coming from last night that i almost ran into his car. But i was so glad he showed up when he did.

" Where were you coming from last night." i asked.

He stood up. " We will talk when you are stronger baby. Let me go get you something to eat"

He went out of the room.

I was stunned when Chantelle said the n* led club was set ablaze. This is Mara' s handiwork! how many lives has been lost because of me? what do i do with this strange girl? why did she set Don' s club on fire? I walked into my room but she wasn't in. I heard giggling and splashing sound coming from the bathroom. I opened the door and almost shouted in fright.



Mara was in the baththub with two other girls_ did i just say girls? all three of them were gloriously n*ked with full soft b00bies. In place of their leg was a long fish fin which was shiny and wagging in the water. Mara is a mermaid! the two strange girls vanished into thin air. Mara whirled around and fixed a deadly gaze on me. I sagged against the door post in exhaustion. What have i gotten myself into?
