Anambra should be sold to Dangote! Too much lies in the administration Always partnering with multinationals in multi-billion dollar investment with nothing to show on ground. |

uzolexis:Vegetables can definitely be exported.. But before they are, first and foremost they must be wasked and cleaned and free from soil, insects and any other organism that may bring parasites and diseases into the destination country. The Moment a single insect is spotted on the vegetables, Quarantine would reject them. They are also sprayed with preservatives and kept in climate controlled pakaging/containers for exports as they have a very short shelf life. I truly doubt that Obiano actually exported anything. The Nigga exaggerated and played a script that didn't end well. |

duduade:This is probably the most stupid question I've heard on Nairaland. I think I now believe someone's assertion that the majority of Nairaland users are kids and people of very low IQ. |

MadCow1:So ABX are also lying too? They even organise trainings for potential exporters. Check out their website and stop typing rubbish. |

MadCow1:I know the process of vegetable export as I work in the agricultural sector. Why do you think Obaino didn't export anything Do you have any evidence to prove that or you just assume Nigeria is incapable of doing such.... |

Justiyke4u:Bro it's all about investor confidence... if you said you did something, it attracts investors then they come and see nothing on ground, do you know the implication? It's similiar to our banks who were declaring paper profits due to witty accountants then the bubble burst and heads like cecilia ibru, akingbola etc had to roll. Let's not kid ourselves ANSG cannot expect us to go and be asking abx and Co. About exports don't worry I expect a rebuttal from SR. It is very painful that obaino (a man I respect) has started playing the 'handwork of the bitter opposition haters' card...I expected a robust defence, pictures of export documents etc not telling us to go to LGA WHERE UGU IS GROWN...local consumption is different from export any finance man knows that! They should show us export documents and for the first time SR will be shamed, till TODAY NO POLITICIAN HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVE SR ALLEGATIONS FALSE...how come? I really thought obaino would be the first... |

For people still in doubt over commercial exports from Anambra State. This is the international Terminal at MMIA- Lagos. What is the Ugu doing at the international terminal if not for exports?

viviangist:The so called Anambra vegetables export is a scam and political tool. Supplying local traditional vegetables to Nigeria restaurant and Nigerian community abroad is not a big deal. Right from time, African food stuffs has always been exported to America and around the world. Africa can not export food to Europe, America, Asia even middle east because they have it in abundance. THEY CAN ONLY EXPORT TRADITIONAL AFRICAN FOOD STUFFS TO AFRICA COMMUNITY THERE. They have everything. Thousands of fruits and vegetables that we never seen in Africa. Vegetables that are more expensive than meat. Some are heavily fortified with nutrients that makes you live longer. E.g.. broccoli and many others help to fight cancer and other diseases. |

DonMaxxy:I tell you. Even the drug peddling business, you can never beat the hardworking Eastern merchants. Importation of fake products, production of killer liquors in filthy environments and a host of other honest living. All hail the Igbos!!!!!! |

uzolexis:I didnt say Nigeria is incapable of exporting Agricultural produce.. But if those Pallets I saw that were packed and left out in the open like that in the Airport are the Agricultural Produce of 5 Milion Dollars that Obiano exported, then I am sorry to say I DON'T BELIEVE HIM. He can produce the export reciepts and invoices to back his claims up but I strongly doubt those vegetables will make it through the Airport or Seaport Quarantine of any European Country. |

Oga, the exports happened over time between January and now. It does not imply that the $5m worth of Ugu is what you are seeing there. It is the total exports so far made.......... ![]() He has provided access to the company that facilitated the exports, when he provides the receipts, you guys will go further to ask him to provide the names and addresses of the consumers in Europe. Oops! MadCow1: |
| Re: Obiano's Reply To Sahara Reporter On Vegetable Export by uzolexis(f): 10:07am On Aug 02, 2016 |
aresa:Of course everyone knows vegetables are perishable and needs to be properly packaged and stored for export like you said it's common sense so what makes you think they don't do that? |

sCun:You can organise whatever trainings you want.. ABX, ABC or whatevers you call them.. All I know is that Export Quality Vegetables are not packed nor handled the way I saw in those photos. Maybe he exported them to Ghana or Togo, but definitely not Europe. Go sell that Bullshiit to Aunty CHidiebere in Ohafia that has never been to an Airport or crossed our Borders. Below is how you handle Export Quality Vegetables https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/image/view/-/1694418/medRes/463005/-/maxw/600/-/5ja1o7/-/eldoret.jpg Vegetables for export na ehn dem leave under rain.. ![]() https://saharareporters.com/sites/default/files/styles/normal_medium/public/IMG-20160726-WA0007.jpg?itok=5FxGMFOL E no go even take 1 week for the whole thing (plus carton) to rotten.. |
