The more I tried to want to agree with this government on the sincerity of purpose the more difficult the government makes it for me daily. Is it Hajj that is important to us as a country now or reviving our economy? When manufacturing companies are buying the same currency at an exorbitant price, the people going on a religious trip that suppose to be on their own volition will be buying the same currency at 197? You use economy to subsidize religion? I don't think it is really reasonable to keep thinking that this government is not out to destroy Nigeria

Nigeria couldn't secure FOREX for its students schooling outside the country but it has made same available for those going to stone the devil in a better organised society. The real devil to be stoned is in Nigeria.

As far as Nigeria keeps sponsoring all these useless pilgrimages to Jerusalem or Mecca, it can't claim to be a secular country as stated in the backward constitution.

Nigeria actually isn't serious about development and progress.

Government should completely hands off this nonsense.

Nigeria is hopeless. It's a misfortune being born here.

Now isn't this some THIRD WORLD type of bullshit.

Businesses and Industries that need to purchase essential raw materials and even wares for trade that will affect not just the economy but also employ people has to buy the Dollar for 400 Naira a Buck..

Religious people on a personal trip to a foreign nation for religious activities that does not benefit our Nation in any way whatsoever have not only easy access to the Dollar, but at a rate that Businesses and individuals would kill and die for.

How can we give such break to religion when it does not pay taxes or contribute back to the Nation? angry

This is why we still remain a Third world Nation because we are still doing dumbass shit like this. angry

Is Buhari not an idiot like this? Why should the CBN give such an instruction on his directive obviously. Does he give the christians such privilege when they want to go for pilgrimage? Why can't the pilgrims go source for dollar at the rate everyone sources theirs. Businesses would go and source for dollar at 400 per dollar, then an individual or group of people that wants to go gallivant to fulfill some silly religious obligation would be giving privilege to source at a lower rate, this just shows how myopic our leaders are. I'm pro-buhari but this latest move just gives more power to the sentiment that he's trying to Islamise the country.

This instruction is from Sultan of Sokoto and and Emir of Kano, those guys rule this country, same they gave instruction last time to declare that 3rd day public holiday when moon was not sited. And some people are still arguing that this country is not islamised.
