I started ANC about 6weeks ago and I was placed on a weekly anti-malarial drug (I didn't have malaria and wasn't tested for). I was also given my 1st tetanus toxide shot... I am due for another at my next ANC which is on the 18th of Aug.

I am going for another scan cos they detected something during my 14weeks scan, so I need to do another scan so d Dr would look at d results and advice.
How many scans have u done so far?

I'd advise that if ur worried about anything or u feel there is something they r supposed to do and they aren't, u can politely ask them just so u guys r on d same page. I always ask as many questions as I can cos I need to know wat drugs I am ingesting and y.

hmmmm............I dunno what to say tho! let me just assume it's cos its ur first ANC visit. I'd advise u talk to the dr when u go for ur next visit, u have a right to!
Another thing u can do is ask mamas who came have been coming for ANC at the hospital, i want to believe ur not the only ante-natal patient there. Make friends with them and ask them questions on what and what they were given when they started and i'm sure that will guide u on what to expect.

3 trimester mamas how is d waddling, vigilante mamas how is it going @ britenystacy didnt get to see that bump that got everyone talking,but weldone all d same. so to my rant,

so i got to ikorodu general hospital yestday to register for ANC, they only attend to first timers on thursdays, after the orientation (registration requirements,which includes your spouse donating blood before you are booked, financial requirement like 45k for VD 65k + for CS total o) they gave us bottle for bringing urine every ANC day, sold a CD and some pamphlets, gave us baby n mother list and some forms requesting for 5 tests to be done( genotype, hepatitis, blood group, av forgoten the last 2 joor) we did HIV test before we left and we took a tour of the hospital, they gave the nxt date to come book properly as 13th of nxt month, but dh must have donated blood and i must have done those 5 tests before that date.

pls mamas is that how first ANC visit is normally done or i went too early LMP says am 16 weeks today, didnt even get to see a doc, although first timmers that are further along are given shorter date for their nxt visit. me just want to be sure LO is ok, cos since MS stopped, i sometimes ask myslf if am really preggy abi my body is just deceiving itslf with all dis body changes, as i dont have fetal movement yet.

Those are the requirements in the GH I registered too... You are not too early as I registered at 14weeks... The last two tests are; VDRL and Urinalysis... All the tests were carried out in the hospital laboratory... One pint of blood was collected frm my DH after screening it...

The difference is that VD is 25k while CS is 63k (excluding charges for drugs)... You'll pay 10k for registration/orientation, 4 small books, 2 bottles of cold-pressed coconut oil and booking... You can see the doctors anytime; I saw the docs 4 times before 12weeks... Then, if I cough or sneeze, I'll go to the hospital... You know *firsttimethings* *Lol*

Lest I forget, vagina swab was carried out to take sample of our discharge on the first visit... We were told that only peeps with issues will be contacted when the results are out... This test is free for first timers...
