Thanks so much for offering to help... biko what part of California? Do you have any info around San Jose? Or San Francisco?

I have spent the last few weeks calling hospitals around San Jose but the cost is really high.

Sorry dear. Just El Monte for now.

I ve a b2 visa and had d intention of applying for a b1/b2 visa for hubby and daughter but want their interview to be after u ve gone, their max stay shld be for abt 3 weeks to witness d birth of baby. On a 2nd thot, we re considering whether MIL shld also apply and come along while my hubby will return in 3 weeks. Do u think dey'll ve better chances if all 3 of them apply together? Shld d interview be after i ve left? Hope it wont appear like my whole kindred is migrating to d US? pls weigh in on my predicament pls. Thanks alot.
Your matter boils down to ties and financial werewithal.
In this economy can you guys show that you can afford the birthing trip plus ticket, feeding, and accomodation for husband, daughter and MIL? What is the purpose of MIL's trip?
Anyways I dunno if una and Dangote dey compete for who hol' pass sha... smiley

Hello everyone. Hope we're all having a great weekend. Please I need a clarification. DH once applied for a US visa in 2013. He was supposed to go for a medical tour/conference to be sponsored by the hospital. However, the trip was cancelled by the hospital so DH didn't bother to go for the visa appointment anymore.
Now, he wants to apply for a US visa to assist & witness the delivery of our baby. Do you think his failure to go for his previously scheduled interview will jeopardise things?
Thanks for your anticipated contributions.

P.S: I have a valid US visa which has been used for its purpose and I have notified the consulate about my new intent.

Any question asked that does not get a reasonable answer has the probability of having negative effects.
The key to a successful interview is preparation and honesty. The mere fact that he did not attend an interview will not pose an issue as long as he has a reasonable reason ... If asked

My sister, I tried helping you by checking several airlines but your best bet seems to be turkish airlines at N448K. Qatar is N100K more while virging that is doing promo doesn't fly to Houston. Best of luck!

My advise, do Virgin to Newyork then take a local flight to Houston. It is cheaper and the distance is shorter.

I think your husband might be asked why he didn't show up for the interview and he has to let them know the truth. He should just pray and prepare well before he goes for the interview. Best of luck to you two wink

You can check Airbnb , I doubt if any decent accommodation will cost $500 a month. Most ones people use cost within $1000 and above

Hello everyone, I am so pleased to have been introduced to this group, u all are so amazing. I am a new member, I read from the beginning, did all my research myself. There were times I wanted to ask questions but as usual I wld get d we don't spoon feed on this thread so I never asked. Always praying at all times and God truly answers prayers. Applied with my hubby and son for b1/b2 visa at 30 weeks,we all got it. Glory be to God, we applied in Lagos but went for an expedited interview in Abuja. Abuja VOs weren't nice that day, they didn't approve plenty pple visas. Traveled with my son,Flew Turkish airline from Abuja to Turkey, Turkey to Chicago and to Dallas. Oh yes ma Poe was Chicago and it went smoothly with the CBP, stated my purpose of traveling which is childbirth and vacation, was sent for secondary inspection, spent 5mins there, declared over 12k cash and credit cards, asked who I wld be staying with, told them including hospital as well and I was off. My groundnut and maggi crayfish wasn't ceased and we went stamped in for 6months. God is indeed great. Thank you all for the posts etc. I have seen my doctor,we r chilling. Baby isn't due yet.

I don't think you will have any problem, peoples poe are at times different from their final destination for various reasons,it could be as result of cheap ticket etc. What matters is for you to be able to explain your self convincingly when asked or better still, you can get correspondence from a Chicago doctor instead

I was always on the path of cheapest is best but trust me some airlines are best avoided! I've hardly heard positive reviews on Ethiopian airline and the online reviews are even worse. As someone suggested, you might have to do Virgin Atlantic to NY and then take a local flight thereon but though I haven't flown Ethiopian airlines, I'd avoid them if I were you. Maybe someone who has flown them can throw some light?
