While some of what Malcolm wrote could be correct, i still stand with Buhari i don't believe good things come easy. Jonathan and his party so wrecked havoc on the Nigerian economy that it is impossible to redeem in only a year and a half. When we stand by someone or something we don't waiver when hard times come, we don't abandon ship in the middle of the journey. We stand tall through thick and thin till the job is done.

Voting for Buhari was inevitable. The other option was untenable. Scratch that...there was no other option.
We did what we had to do to get Nigeria right and we will do it again. The way it's looking, we'd be doing it again pretty soon because Nigeria is nowhere near 'right'.
People are jaded and do you blame them? Honestly, do you really blame them? There are days I am emotionally drained about this country. I can't join this praise singing and say things are better. Maybe they will be but right now, I don't feel it. I sincerely hope things get better.
But we did what we had to do on May 28 2015. I am not apologising. I have no regrets. I will do it again. It shows how shitty the other option was that a man who had been rejected 3 times was voted in. We voted for hope.
It's been a tad disappointing and frankly, sometimes mind boggling the way things are being bungled left, right and centre but we will keep pressing on. 4 years is not a long time. Shape up or ship out. No time for iskanci.
I still have hope. As unreasonable as it seems. I do but if things continue the way they are going, that hope will die. It's no biggie. It is what it is.
So please, stop insulting those that are sorry they voted for Buhari. People have a right to be disappointed. Leave them alone. If they want to apologise let them. You don't have to accept their apology. I still for the life of me don't understand why they're apologising. They are better than you. You people still haven't apologised for wanting to foist GEJ on us a second time. Kuku kill us na.
And what is all this 'I told you' nonsense, you didn't have a better option so zip it. If I hear pim! The country was going to hell and we slowed down the pace.
You should be thanking us goddamnit.
You should.

I was waiting for the guy to just mention Obama. America is in the unique position to print as much dollars as they like to spend its way out of a reccession. Reason? The dollar is in such high demand worldwide you can't print enough. And that was what he did. He threw money at all the banks and companies folding up, built roads, bridges etc and increased public sector spending eg obamacare. Nigeria on the other hand, has to prise every dollar from the hands of NDA. We are bleeped because we are in a recession and are broke. Armchair critics...
Re: Five Reasons Buhari Is Failing - By Malcolm Fabiyi by Rick9(m): 5:41pm On Aug 11, 2016
The part where he mentioned Obama got me, that's to know a Leader that is not only competent but also intelligent and willing to put personal and selfish interests aside and go after the greater good,
Unlike in Nigeria, tribalism , enthicity, sentimental bigotry has becloud us so badly.

P.S
Please if you have anything you can do that would fetch you money start learning it now oh, cos the way things are going in this country , the future is inherently laden with uncertainties. Please be prepared for the worst.

I know it will be more worse that this if it were GEJ that one the election. The level of destruction here is more than what Obama inherited. Nevertheless, this write up is an eye opener for Mr. President.

All these kids above me though. This forum have become something else. You hardly read any meaningful comment except insults upon insults.

Anyway Sahara reporters got this one right. Buhari's economic policies from the onset were "ignorantly made" to put the nation into a dire situation. You don't just come onboard and try to change everything overnight. You take things one step at a time. Buhari and his economy team{if there is even anything like that} seriously need to put things in order. They just have 31months left to vacate that office, his economic team should think outside the box for once.

I saw that finance minister saying rubbish yesterday, and I'd wonder if that woman is even capable of handling a complex economy like ours. God help them all

Above you is the so-called youths who are supposed to be the future, very worrisome, above you are comments bereft of anythoughto

It took PDP 16 years to make a dollar = N197,
but it took APC just 1 year to make a dollar N400.

It took PDP 16 years to destroy Nigeria, but it
took APC just 1 year to massacre, dismantle, kill and bury Nigeria.

It took PDP 16 years to make fuel price N87 per litre, but it took APC 1yr to make fuel N145 per litre.

It took PDP 16 years to make Nigeria corrupt,
but it took APC just 1 year to make Nigeria Fantastically corrupt.

It took PDP 16 years to keep the price of rice at N7,000 per bag,
but took APC 1 year to project it to N18,000 per bag.

It took Jonathan 5yrs to travel to 15 countries,
but it took Pa Buhari 1 year to travel to 30 countries.

It took PDP 16years to apply resounding economic policies that made banks grow, but took APC 1 year to apply policies which made banks to sack more staff.

The worst administration of PDP is far better than the best of APC!

At this point in time in our lives as Nigerians, I think we need to do beyond the ordinary.

How about Nairaland becoming a political party, by virtue of the fact that it is wide-spread across the six geo-political zones and it is made up of vibrant youths, with different talents, ideas, experience and ground-breaking innovations...youths who still have "better years ahead"

Don't get it twisted.....this is no revolution...but its a conscious, yet critical effort to turn back the hands of time, and set Nigeria on course for greater glory

Nairaland is blessed with the numbers
We can get connections with other like-mind politicians who share our views
We must learn to stop trading blame games, abolish ethnic, tribal and religious sentimentalism.... but rather, we could form a consolidated and United front to take over the reins of this country, in the best of our days when our glucose level is still maximum

Lalasticlala, Mr SEUN, tosyne2much, omenka, wastedsperm, fynestboi, even you Madam OP......... don't you think you've got what it takes to be at the helm of affairs....

with 1k every month from every member of this forum, we would have enough to register our party, set up the necessary commitees, observe the necessary protocols and come 2023, Nairaland can present a presidential candidate.....cos I presume that we all want to see Nigeria work..

just doing some critical thinking here....as a progressive NIGERIAN youth..

my View!!!!!!!

"Izzalie"

Who hacked your account?

Buhari and his economic team can't do anything worthwhile. Why do you think they're always talking about oil price?

Because, the only thing that can save their a$$ is increase in oil price that provides plenty of surplus to inject into the economy.

Until that happens, na "siddon look."

Adeosun is not up to the task. What's worse however is that Buhari wouldn't listen to anyone until "sh*t hits the fan."

NOI would still under perform if she was under Buhari. You guys don't get it.

Insider details state that Adeosun objected to some things in the Nigeria-Qatar deal. Guess what, Buhari went ahead to sign it defiantly without acknowledging her objections.

Soludo and Sanusi, Nigeria's best performing CBN governors were screaming about letting the naira float? Guess what, Buhari was saying he doesn't get devaluation.

This is the reality. Politics would not allow some of these ministers resign, if not there are many of them who would want to take a bow.

Nigeria is f'ked in ways you can't understand.

They keep saying GEJ did not save when there was an oil boom , blaming past administration shows u are not competent to face the challenges ahead ...Nigeria is in recession why ? Let's be reasonable here folks .. Which country survives without a government for 6 months without having an economics crises and expect the economy to be viable without true fiscal policy ? Just imagine America without a govt for 2 days and we can tell how much will be lost in Wall Street this is a wrong start to his administration and we are all feelin it , even if there was saving all will be down d drain by now .. Thank God he never came to power in 2003 maybe NIGERIA will be surviving from international aid ...

*This trash is not the 1st rubbish and For those who say Mr. Buhari inherited a mess that needs time to be cleaned up, here is a simple response: it was a mess he fought hard to inherit. Mr. Buhari was not running for president in Egypt. From 2003 till 2015 – 12 long years, Mr. Buhari fought for the opportunity to lead Nigeria. He knew that Nigeria was not saving for a rainy day. He knew that oil prices were dropping precipitously. He knew that the national assembly was expert at padding budgets. He knew that politicians and civil servants were pilfering public funds. He talked about all these problems incessantly when he was running for office*.
I know the write up is too long to read and understand, but you can chew on the above. Perhaps something might just happen.
