Are you now suggesting we all should be quiet on this issue?? I don't think so. There are some people out there who applied since April. My brother those people have to move on with their lives instead of being tied emotionally to one Canada Study Permit application. The worst of it is that some of us have our International Passports in their domain. Please retract your comments for their sake. Thanks
Bro, For those that are forwarding petitions, i think it is right they use their actual email address which they filled in their various visa applications to forward those mail (as they wish) so that their petitions could easily be identified and treated.

The day I applied for the visa, the processing time was 10 weeks, it's now 15 weeks, probably they think it's easy to move to another country within 1 week and settle down. I literally paused my life for months but I canceled my Canadian visa application and requested a refund a week ago. I got my U.S. visa approved on Monday.

I'm divergent in nature and I also have to protect my dignity. I will not pay processing fee just to be subjected to this biased and inhumane treatment. I have many things to say but one of the many things I find appalling is that they provide status update to many other countries within days or few weeks but keep us waiting forever as if we don't have any reasonable thing to do with our lives, yet we keep paying for this gullible treatment.

If you think all they are just doing is scrutinize application, you are wrong. Their main objective is to apply what is called Social Engineering, they are applying social and human control into the approval or denial process, that's why you will see some applicant who waited 20 weeks get denied with silly reasons like "Purpose of visit".

They need to treat all applicant with respect and dignity. I support those that have also contacted the Canadian immigration minister, I have also bitterly and constructively gave them a piece of my mind. Let's all speak up when we see injustice, by doing that, we are helping future applicants.

Good luck everyone.

lies..PGC/PGD is the categorized issue here even if processing time is 20 weeks sef still masters are being responded to in 6-11 weeks mostly!.To all rather than saying they are treating you unjust and unfair compared to masters because you got to provide evidence oo no be mere say talk oo grin,i feel the right sentimental word to use is i feel we are being MARGINALIZED amidst the other levels of study program.study is study as long as i have my reasons.Masters sef na even paper work.mbok!after na masters go come for office they seek for my techical/practical knowledge in solving critical issues cool

Your assertion is baseless. I am going for Masters (Thesis-based) in Civil Engineering. With a full funding/scholarship and my application is 17 weeks. I haven't been called for medical yet. Stop saying that it is PGD/PGC that is treated unfairly. There are many masters students that haven't gotten their TRV yet. Most of them are not on nairaland. Please do your research well before you come here to make a baseless claim. Stop complicating issues and put your hope on God. Each person case is different in the eye of the VOs. We should pray for grace. It is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who shows mercy (Rom 9:16).

Oga, I believe most peeps here are spiritual people. It is glaring that the CIC process is generally inconsistent for us Nigerians and it is now far from being a case by case issue. What is not ideal, is not ideal. CIC is not being fair and just here.

The Tension here is fever pitch. The lesson to be learned here is that nobody should keep all their eggs in CIC's basket...they obviously do not take these applications nearly as urgent or as importantly as we perceive they should. Stop paying advance tuition (being overly invested financially) and apply for alternatives (SA, USA, Australia etc)...spread opportunities rather than waiting on these guys for weeks unending. For paper applicants, let's stop submitting our passports on the reason for needing to use it during their infinity visa processing period...if they have visa to give, let them ask for it.

UK universities have started to come on radio to advertise their schools, listened to Coventry uni this morning asking people to still come apply for next month's semester. they recognize this country is a big market and patronage is in a free fall because of the exchange rate and unaccommodating immigration options for international students.

I doubt if the mails you're all ending would make any difference. They most likely wouldn't even be read by him. And frankly, we are non Canadians outside Canadian territories, how is your headache his headache? Got a problem with the processing time, first email them, if nothing then drag 'em out and confront in public on twitterr and FB...they have accounts I should assume. Tag as many associated institutions and parastatals. If they are going to take a piss, our 55k gives us the licence to make it messy!

okechukwu101:

Please how did u cancel ur app? And also was your refund for school fees or visa application fee?

You should be able to request a tuition refund anytime before resumption date. I contacted the school that my visa application has not been processed and that I don't want to defer. They told me I can get a full refund with no admin charge since my visa application has not been processed but that I should provide them with a screenshot of my online application page.

I took a screenshot of the page showing the status of the visa application as "Open". They sent me a wire transfer form, I filled it and they said it will take 4 to 6 weeks to process my full refund.

Details on how to get visa processing fee refund from CIC: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=619&top=4

I contact CIC through this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp and I selected "Type of application/enquiry" as "Withdrawal of online application" and In "Your enquiry" I stated that I have decided to withdraw my application and that I want a refund of processing fee. They replied back saying they have added a note to my application but that the refund is at the discretion of the visa officer. Based on what I read online, if your application has not been processed, you are entitled to a refund.

Please note: Your mileage may vary and I'm not encouraging anyone to lose hope, hope isn't lost.

You should:

- Let CIC know what they are doing wrong through this page: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/feedback-retroaction/feedback-retroaction-eng.aspx

- Send a case enquiry by requesting them to urgently look into processing your application, that school is about to resume through this page: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/confirmation-eng.aspx

- Wait for CIC to respond.

- If you noticed that you will not be able to meet resumption date, you can defer your admission to January.

My advise for anyone applying to study in Canada is to be aware that it can take months to process your application and if you are not comfortable with waiting that long, you should also have a "Plan B" in another country. Probably in U.S, Australia or U.K so as not to waste time and leave your future hanging.

Never give up, good news will come your way.

Wishing everyone all the best.
