Quick question for the thread members .... please do u guys think technician trainees will be allowed to participate in the management trainee programme this year if there's one ....
Re: Nigeria Bottling Company Aptitude Test Invite by usmanbma(m): 11:27am On Aug 17, 2016
From inside source, one can apply and its possible to make that leap but no technician trainee has been able to successfully make that transition

bro congratulations on your new position, i wish you more success as you progress on your career, i applied for the position too, but i didn't bother taking the test because i wanted to apply for the management trainee programme instead...

i just need your help on something, i'd like you to tell me the sort of technical/skill based questions dragnet focus on, and if possible you forward any materials you feel will be of help to me and others that will be applying to other positions with NBC in the future, thanks in advance for your response.

Bro,the test was quite easy, the technical questions asked were mainly mechanical and electrical...Like machine tools(chisels, lathe machines etc) and their uses, fuses, circuit breakers, some basic circuit theory. I didn't use any material,it was just speed and some guided guesses.

That never stopped you from applying you know!!! I applied for the technical trainee program in a bid to prep myself for the forthcorming management trainee recruitment and any other engineering related opportunities.
You know, familiarize myself with the necessary questions and the interview approach, and thats exactly what I did..
I know the management trainee procedure might not be as technical as this, but at least I came out of this process a bit wiser...
The interview actually went well.. too bad i wont consider the offer.
I specificaly asked the Interviewer about the career prospects of a potential technical trainee in NBC. He authoritatively told me that the program is a CSR (corporate social responsibility, their way of giving back to the society and that they werent under any obligation to employ anybody)

18months of training(with a stipend) that is most likely proprietary to NBC and zero chance of employment Naaaaaaa!!

Man pikin go jus dey drink coke dey go sha!!!
I drank like three the other day...
They wouldnt give me 'five alive pulp', I wonder why, yeye people!!!!!

The man that interviewd us told me they would employ me as a junior staff after the training. You think they would spend money training you and at the end of the day throw you out?

I am currently on a graduate trainees programme at a power station, and there's this guy who did that technical traineeship with NBC in 2014, dude works here full time now, he gave me insights about the programme n how it works...

Here's the deal, u get trained on a specific area u want to focus on in NBC's lab n breweries, during which u will b prepared also for C and G exams.

The training is top class and u learn a great deal to the extent that u become an asset to the company, he said the chances of dem retaining u is very high depending on your performance during d training, and that even if u choose to leave u will get other jobs easily, especially the guys that chose automation (PLCs n SCADA) ... I stand corrected on this piece I have written as I only heard them from a former trainee...

So the guys that got the job should make good use of the opportunity as it will open more doors for them, and as for the stipends just manage it for the time being, the experience you will get from such a training will put more than enough food on your table , its just time

Bro as long as you are focused, goal oriented and technically sound no company will train you for 18 months then register you for CnG and then throw you away after the training... That's unless the company lacks vision, which clearly ain't the case of NBC.

All I'll say is that you grow yourself in the technical aspects of the company's operations, and also try n get a project management certification and if possible u can start a part time masters degree or if its HND you've got you can go for your PGD, and don't let anyone fool you with the notion that there's no time for that, trust me there is if only u avail yourself the opportunity
