I'll be travelling to the UK for the 1st time in a couple of days. On my visa application form, I booked a hotel. But a family friend has asked me to stay with them so as to save me the cost of staying in a hotel. Will be this an issue at the POE when I fill in her address in my landing card?

It's not a serious issue because every other document has the correct name and you can correct it on the printout before submitting physically

It will be an issue, did u declare in ur visa application that you shall be staying with a family friend? If No and you have already cancelled the hotel booking, you had better make another hotel booking for that date of arrival so you won't have issues at the POE. Cos the info on ur landing card must not be different from what you wrote in ur visa application. Don't kobalize urself.

If No and you have cancelled the hotel booking, you had better book that same hotel for that date so you won't have issues at the POE. Cos you shall be asked to fill a form, in which all ur answers must not be different from what u wrote in ur visa application. Don't kobalize urself.

Thanks Askari01. I haven't cancelled my booking yet. You mean there's no way I can stay with my family friend? My hotel booking lasts only 12days while my flight booking shows I'll be in the UK for 17 days. Do I have to book and extra 5 days now?

Overcacu dey worry u... how many days r u gonna be staying in the UK? Work inline with the schedule dates, both ur hotel and flight to avoid wahala for yourself@ POE.. You need the hotel address for just the POE, once you enter UK, if you have money stay in the hotel for one day if not, go flenjor with ur family friend. Shikenna

Let him log on to TLS portal and go to track my application when he sign in.I think that will give him updates as regards is documents.

This would be an issue if they found out that you have changed your place of stay: and if you lied about it, you would be barred from the UK for ages.
I'd advice you to revert to the status quo and avoid something that may raise questions or you would be returned.

Valeroso don't be scared dear, uk pop is not as hard and scary as you think.. Just be urself and you will be fine..@ d point of entry, tell them you are stayin in an hotel... It might be diff from the one you filled but it has to be hotel. Be good

I plan to apply for Family Visit Visa in September. Duration of visit is 18days.

Please, is there anything possibly left out in this list of supporting documents for a Family Visit Visa:

1. Company Introduction Letter
2. Offer of employment letter
3. Promotion letter
4. Cover letter addressing refusal points for same category of visa in April
Refusal reasons:
1. Lack of supporting documents to prove marriage is genuine and subsisting. I submitted a photocopy (i don't know what i was thinking)
2. Lack of supporting document to prove relationship with daughter. (I didnt submit marriage and birth certificates for wife and daughter)
3. Lack of home tie because salaries were not paid regularly at the time. (We all dey 9ja, so you should know better)

5. Marriage certificate (both religious and registry). Is it allowed to submit only religious? Just asking.
6. Daughter's birth certificate. Long and short form issued in the UK.
3. Salary account with 6 month's bank statement. Closing balance say 940k. Salaries have since been paid regularly.
7. Tenancy agreement for accommodation belonging to Father-in-law.
8. Consent/permission letter to stay in the accommodation above for the duration of my visit.
9. Passport data bio-page of Father-in-law.
10. Passport data bio-page of Wife.
11. Passport data bio-page of Daughter.
12. Wife's invitation letter.
13. Wedding pictures and some pictures we took while dating in Uni and after getting married. All were not dated though.
14. Print out of flight reservations for my wife's last two visits.
15. Skype call logs and some facebooks chats.
16. Printouts of items i bought her on amazon.co.uk

I really want to inundate them with supporting documents this time around. Thank you.

Hi everyone, is there any way of calling TLS CONTACT ikeja? I have been waiting for my parcel delivery from them, no call either from them or DHL and no tracking number either.

I got my parcel delivered 30mins ago while in my office with my 2yrs visa, thanks to God almighty,@justwice @askari and others that helped me God almighty will reward you.Amen

Boss let me advise you o if this is your first time and you state you have no relative in the uk you better stick to hotel and make sure you pay at least a night out of your reservation that issue almost sent me back to Nigeria on my first entry uk mad o

Pls, can i email uk embassy concerning my refund for the 1st application i cancelled due to mistake in the application.
My timeline:
Applied on Monday 15th Aug
Appointment/Biometrics in Abuja Tues 16th Aug
Tls sent me email that UK visas and immigration has received my package on Wed 17th Aug
TLS sent me message on Mon 22nd dat my application has been accessed and my decision and docs will sent to the VAC.
TLS sent me a message on Tues 23rd that my PP and docs are ready for collection. That was fast oooo.
NB: I did not receive any message from UKVI. Also, no VAF ref in the emails sent from TLS just my name and ref GWF****** neither did anyone get any phone call.
Collected my visa on Tues 23rd sharp sharp with my 6 months visa.
Issue date is Fri 19th and suprisingly it was issued in sheffield. It was written on the package DMC: Abuja, Lagos- Sheffield. My last visa was issued in Abuja. I wonder why dis one was issued in sheffield.
U can make correction on a cover note or add extra information if need be cos it worked for me.
Maybe it was issued in sheffield because i will be travelling with my lil american baby.
Documents submitted:
Application form with a cover note attached to it
2 savings statement of acc from 2 diff banks. One has a turn over of 15M and bal of 1.sth million and is a year plus statemenent
The other has a turn over of 3M with bal of 1.sth and is a 6 months statement. I wrote that i will spend 1 million for the trip. I also wrote my figures in naira not pounds in my application form.
NB: My corperate biz acc was not submitted. Just savings which is where i will spend from.
Monies were paid into the acc days b4 and even prior to printing from businesses i did. So i think it is only an issue when such monies hasn't been entering ur acc and when they are not geniune. Business has to continue even on the verge of application.
Tax clearance with turn over of 1.7M and tax paid is 55k
CAC docs of my biz name which was incorperated feb last yr
Vat Reg Cert
Marriage Cert
2 nigerian and 1 american birth certs of kids
Wedding pic and lovely family pic
Consent letter from DH
Letter of intro/sponsorship from me with my letter headed.

Also, funny enough i did not state how much i make on the application. I wrote VARIES which is the truth. I also explained in the space give that my income is not fixed and it varies since i do biz and can differ month by month but i stated in the cover note an average of atleast 300k monthly.
I am a married woman with kids and i have a good travel history UK(once), USA(twice) with a newly renewed US visa again on the PP, Dubai (twice), India and Ukraine. Other countries like schengen are more than 10 yrs.
I THINK SINCERITY AND GENUINE DOCUMENTS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS AND WILL ALWAYS BE...
I got all docs except few pages of the statements and my american baby's photocopy of data page and birth cert. I wonder why but its all good.
Now my sleepless nites, anxiety and days of adrenaline pumping is over cos of feeling to know the outcome.
IN ALL I GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE

Hello house and justwise, pls I have a question, can one be denied uk visa after been given 3 times previously? Cos tho I applied for the 3 in nigeria nd the renewals took maximum of 6 days for me to get back, but now m in Europe,applied with my baby here nd its 8 working days still haven't heard back from dem..I said I was sponsoring myself cos m on maternity leave nd I get paid by d government,I showed proof of d payment,acct statement,residence permit photocopy,childs birth certificate,letter from my hubby. My past visas,I never used more dan a month,I put my marriage certificate in,invitation letter of my host and passport page... or is dere something I should have added? Cos this one its taking long,I hope they are not typing my appeal letter so, or whats ur take?
