The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, has said that about 300 militants were killed Friday night during an airstrikes in Borno State. Mr. Abubakar made this known after commissioning a hospital and borehole built by the Nigeria Air Force for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) in Bama. He stated out that the Air Force had carried out many successful airstrikes against Boko Haram in the last few weeks. "We have intensified airstrikes in recent weeks and have had outstanding results," Mr. Abubakar said. "On the 19th of this month [August], 300 terrorists were killed by our night operations."

I wonder the types of assets the Nigerian Air Force used for it's night operations. I don't think it's possible only Drone strikes killed 300 militants. Also, the Nigerian Air Force only uses attack helicopters for CAS missions, not deep air strikes. |

chinese8107:Seychelles operates 2 dornier 228 both gifted by India . The Do-228 maritime surveillance version is developed and produced by India only.it holds full IPR rights and can modify and export the same. they are equipped with 1.360 degree surveillance radar -Elta’s EL/M 2022 V3 multimode radar 2.FLIR a retractable Elop CoMPASS electro-optical (EO) pod. also HAL and BEL together with IAI have integrated an Airborne Multi-Mission Optronic Stabilised Payload (AMOSP) on the fuselage in the forward starboard side fairing of the main landing gear. It houses three optical apertures – the larger one is a low light Charge Coupled Device (CCD) camera, a second one is an IR camera and the third is for possible fitment of a Laser Range Finder. It is based on a full day and night imagery gathering concept with a down link to the ground station’s intelligence system. The AMOSP can view targets of up to a range of 25 miles (40 km). 3.EAGLE Electronic Support Measures (ESM) systems have been fitted on-board the MPA – The system is an indigenous development by the Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL). 4.Trigun AIS and SATCOM and data links . 5.Tactical Data Management System. 6.plus other classified EW equipment's. the indian versions have two inboard and two outboard pylons that can carry an array of external stores, including gun pods, rockets, short-range anti-ship missiles and even SAR pods. The IN Dorniers can carry AShMs. the workmanship looks improved from what nemesis2u shown HAL made onereally you should check your eyes or maybe your brains ![]() can you explain how you came to this conclusion? 1.since both aircraft's were made by HAL 2.and also the aircraft in the pic i posted in the other thread is NEWER than the one which was gifted and posted here. what a brainfart ![]() |

nemesis2u:https://www.yourvotegoa.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/Indian-Navy-Dornier-228-Web-9861.jpg look at the discoloration paint in the horizontal stablizer and elevator trim ,and the back back-up door. That made me think it's old plane. what I mean by workmanship.some parts look like hammer working. maybe It doesn't matter for a little plane , some old Soviet or Eastern European plane look the same.no over standard required ,who cares as long as it flys and reliable it's competitive. Off topic .I know the workmanship for an little plane is not matter, but for huge plane it's critical.eg:like C-130 size plane or bigger |

chinese8107:man i almost died laughing ![]() maritime aircraft's when deployed at sea suffer such discolorations due to corrosive effects of sea water spray and salty air. aircraft's are not painted for show they serve to act as a protective barrier from chemical corrosion and biological growth, but an ignoramus like you will not even know that. maybe It doesn't matter for a little plane , some old Soviet or Eastern European plane look the same.no over standard required ,who cares as long as it flys.this statement of yours shows your insolence, prejudice and the fact you know shit about chinese military industrial origins/practices. most of chinese military factories were/are clones/reverse engineered versions of soviet / east European / Russian military industries and follow their techniques. by the way dorniers are manufactured using German toolings and technology. and the same factory manufactures and exports parts of C-130 to Boeing. as for using hammers to manufacture planes , this might be a Chinese way i don't know and i don't care , but this much i will say i never read a stupider statement than this in this forum. |

nemesis2u:you are a twister. How did you make conclution that I don't know" not painted for show they serve to act as a protective barrier from chemical corrosion ".it' common sense for painting. I was just talking about the discolorations.though I obviously know it is not paited for fun. India can export some C-130 parts no doubts but can not make whole C-130,there is obviously some technical problem,Yes maybe they got tools and technology from Germany which I don't care about. Not that simply just copying/clones/reverse engineered versions of soviet / east European technology. But also some technology they don't have, that's why Russia wants to co-develop the a commercial plane as big as BOEING 787 with China to compete with West. Hammer workmanship no worth arguing ,no supprise even if someone make one WWI basic trainer by hands and hammer, yes, this could be a Chinese way,why not if someone wants to. But Y-20 is obviously not hammer worked https://www.people.com.cn/mediafile/pic/20160706/42/12713713203406553930.jpg

Henry240:Any updates on the Congress approval for the sale of the A-29? Kerry's visit might not be unconnected to the approval of the Super Tucanos. Not sure though |
| Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 12:32pm On Aug 23, 2016 |
Posidonius:I don't think Kerry can do anything about the Tucanos. Although Reuters news agency did say the US government is trying to push Congress to approve the sale of 12 units. The chances of us getting the Tucano is 40% in my opinion. Our current obstacle is congress. We should be looking at 2017. The only aircrafts coming this 2016 are the JF-17, Super-Mushak, Yahbon Flash 20, MI-35M and MI-17 termintor1SH. |
