CaptEColeJnr:Anyway, I have respect for those who are sincerely religious, so I wouldn't give you a piece of my mind (or tell you how I perceive the about statement) because their is no polite way of saying it. Take care. |

Farmerforlife:The op never opposed pleasuring members of the opposite sex, he was merely stating what most religions accept as evil. Unbridled hedonism can't have much more negative affects than unbridled superstition. |

Ranchhoddas:Theist always like to cherry pick their arguments, here you talk about the supposed good religion has done forgetting all the evil, the terrorism, war. All the countless dead, and saying atheism will lead to anarchy is rubbish, most of the civilized world, like Japan, China, Netherland and a lot more are largely atheistic. while most crime riddled, underdeveloped nations are strongly theistic. |

Codedrock:its called double linking bro, I was once disillusioned by religion once. double linking is an amazing feat of the human brain, that doesn't allow logic to touch our beliefs. I recommend this website since it helped me break the link www.godisimaginary.com its long but definitely worth it |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by Ranchhoddas: 11:07am On Aug 24, 2016 |
Lennycool:Liar. Those countries you mentioned are not atheistic. Do your research well. That a person does not identify with a religion does not make him atheist. And you have conviniently forgotten the religious countries that are prosperous. You want examples? |

JackBizzle:Lol. Sir LogicBoy. No be lie na. |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by JackBizzle: 4:06pm On Aug 24, 2016 |
Ranchhoddas:It is a lie that religious countries are prosperous. Most are not prosperous. Also, atheists have no problem with non-atheists that aren't religious. |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by Ranchhoddas: 4:17pm On Aug 24, 2016 |
JackBizzle:They are prosperous religious countries and non-prosperous ones. The same thing also applies the non-religious nations. My overall point is that religion is not necessarily the cause of the backwardness in those countries. It might be a factor but it certainly isn't the major factor. |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by JackBizzle: 4:29pm On Aug 24, 2016 |
Ranchhoddas:you might be right. However, the fact remains that religion is a major factor in Nigeria. I wouldn't mind if we were liberal about our religion. When I mean liberal, I mean the Yoruba muslim that will chill with you even if he doesnt drink. Compare that to the conservative northern almajiri that will decapitate you and your bottle of beer on sight. |

cloudgoddess:Why do you call someone who derive satisfaction in killing people a psychopath? Who set the standard for normality? You? Majority vote? Please, I dont think you or anyone has the right to dictate what is normal to another person. It more rational to Do what pleases you or what works for you with the short time you have to live. Its not like the universe will give you a medal for being good. Camping or restricting people who act to their advantage and satisfaction is unjustifiable. People should be left alone to live their lives to the fullest, then you will see the problem with an atheistic majority. Atheist Nietzche probably pointed this out in all honesty. |

| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by Seun(mod): 9:06pm On Sep 04, 2016 |
Touchnot01:Are you suggesting that atheists don't enjoy freedom of speech? Atheists are free to tell people what to do and they are free to ignore us. |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by Mescopaul(m): 9:41pm On Sep 04, 2016 |
@Seun , bro you need help. The confusion you are in is really eating up every fabric of your thinking faculty. I've always known that when people don't want to serve God, they hide under the guise of claiming to be atheists. It's just laziness that's the problem of these so-called atheists. I don't have the time to go through all your lenthy crappy post. Religion indeed has hurt the world (not just Nigeria), but if you consider the good it has done to man in the light of JESUS every other thing grows dim in the light of his glory and grace. Atheism is a psychological jargon. You can choose to believe, or not. It doesn't change the fact. I've always told people: "It's better to play safe: You'ld make a good bargain if you believe on JESUS now, and at last discover that he really do exist rather than refusing him now, only to discover that he actually exists and by then it might be too late." You wont party forever. You wont have sex forever. You wont dress naked forever. Everything would still end someday. At that time all these pleasures you treasure would be seen as dung in your eyes. Speak to a dying shrunken old woman. Can she ever still treasure having sex all the day? Or dressing nude? Or partying? Or dancing about? No. She dont even know if there's any pleasure in those things. All she knows is that her end is near. It's just that our life on earth and what we're exposed to has made us so myopic. We do not know anything outside our nose. And we think we knew it all. Remember Plato's Allegory of the cave? That's just how we are. Now you've written a piece Seun, and you might be thinking: "Wow, I've killed them all. I've finished all these religious fanatics!" But the sad truth is that, to you, you've written something worthwhile, but in the real sense one can look at how much knowledge you lack to have composed such criticism against religion all in the name of atheism. I wonder what you'll do when you found out the truth. Just do something for me Seun, Lock up yourself in your room oneday. Take a Bible. Spread it before you and say: "God if there is a God. They said you exist and you sent Jesus to die for me. I don't believe this crap (That is if you trully don't). And if this is true, I want you to do anything that would make me believe, else I don't believe it." Have a nice day. |

Seun:Of course you do. please get the point. Who is man that he gets to decide what or what not is appropriate for another man?. You may not be able to give a straight forward answer, thats why God makes sense. I believe God is the only rational explanation for human lives and doings. |

Touchnot01:Ruthlessly killing people for no reason is detrimental to our species as a whole and thus maladaptive. Social animals like us need to cooperate with eachother to survive & thrive. Mirror neurons & oxytocin exist to promote this. |

Touchnot01:I hope the same can be said for Christians that goes about giving sermons on the road and in a public transportation, and their unending distribution of placards. Why should atheist own be any different. |
| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by PastorAIO: 8:39am On Sep 05, 2016 |
Touchnot01:But your God doesn't decide anything. If he came down from heaven to decide 'what or what not is appropriate for another man' then maybe I could cut you some slack, but NO... ... all I see is Man (claiming God to add credence) deciding 'what or what not is approrpriate for another man'. The history of religion is one of Evil men going about dictating to other men and claiming that they are representing God. Your God never came to speak for himself, it is only nasty people claiming to speak for him. They are the ones who get 'to decide what or what not is appropriate for another man'. |

| Re: Every Nigerian Atheist Should Be Outspoken by Seun(mod): 12:04pm On Sep 05, 2016 |
Touchnot01:If you are in a position of authority e.g. a parent, a boss, a moderator, or a government official, you have the right to decide what is appropriate for the people under your authority. The national assembly's entire job is to decide what is appropriate for Nigerian citizens. As members of society, we have the right to use our brains to figure out what is best for other members of our society and then try to persuade them to do it (not by force). We can have a good society without pretending that an invisible mind-reading dictator exists. |

Mr Seun u are clearly ignorant of a true relationship with God; may i ask... Do u believe in evil? If yes why or how do u come to terms with the existence of evil how does d good balance the evil. Do u believe in grace? I want answers... |

obiZEAL:This may be the right decision for you, but I don't think it helps your mum. The most depressing truth is better than the most comforting lie. my siblings and friends are religious and I can't lose them because of a non existing god...What if your siblings and friends are also secret atheists but they are also afraid of telling you because they think they will lose you if they do? |

Smallville10:You're right. I'm ignorant of a true relationship with God. So are you. And everybody else. A relationship with an imaginary being can't be true. may i ask... Do u believe in evil?I believe in evil. To me, evil is any unnecessary and unjust suffering. Bad people are those who cause others to suffer unnecessarily and unjustly. If by evil you mean Satan, demons, witches, wizards, mermaids, blood sucking spirits, ghosts, etc, I don't believe in such nonsense. If yes why or how do u come to terms with the existence of evil how does d good balance the evil.Factors responsible for the existence of evil include lack of empathy, desperation, ignorance, poor communication, tribalism, and carelessness. Do u believe in grace? I want answers...It depends. Is she intelligent, inquisitive, creative, rational, honest, and kind? ![]() |
