The biggest crooks looting the country to the point that no money was found to sponsor the olyimpic athletes.
It is wrong for the senators to be such high paid crooks, they are lazy and cannot qualify for olympics or anything useful in an honest way.
They should shut up and eat their shame for sending talented Nigerians to represent with no means to sustain themselves while senators at home live in obscene dishonest excess and tell them not to accept help from kind strangers.
Wicked souls indeed. They are so dissociated from the common people who do all the real work in making the country surviveable.

Again, you need to get informed. You don't understand taxation and you are trying to lecture me about something i file for every year. Ok. Plus, 390,000 in ten places in 3,000,000. So lets say he donated into different places, it would add up.

You are guessing. He is not laundering with Naija. You can not claim you donated money. That is not how taxation works. You did not hear him say he donated to other teams. He reacted to the challenges he heard our National dream team faced.

You can donate after taxes. Not before.

Which is why you need to go back and read my initial post. I did not say he is a money launderer. I said that is how money is laundered. You brought up the issue of "if he was" a money launderer. And in the U.S, you can claim money you donated. Even money you paid as tithe in church you can claim. I file every year. Do You?

You file every year. I have heard that. I am saying, taxation does not work like that. Look at the cases going on with Mascherano, Neymar and Messi. Have you heard them talk about money they donated.

When we say Income tax, you can not say you donated your income tax. It does not work like that. Same goes to other taxes.

You pay taxes, not donate taxes. It is very logical.

Well, this is how it works in the U.S. Tax is deducted every month for 12 months. Starting January the following year, you have to file your returns. Your tax is basically a loan to the government if you earn below a certain per annum income which will be refunded back to you. Now, there are exemptions that you can claim while filling. This does not have per annum income restrictions. If you bought a car, bought a house, bought a fuel efficient car like a hybrid, donated money, paid tithe, had a baby, had two babies, had three babies, lost money in the stock market, Got a babysitter while you went to work the whole year or was looking for work, etc, the government will pay all or a percentage back to you,. Look it up. Google is your friend.

You can only claim a tax deduction for gifts or donations to organisations that have the status of deductible gift recipients (DGRs).

https://www.ato.gov.au/Individuals/Income-and-deductions/

Definitely, the Dream Team does not fall within the DGR.

So now you understand that you can claim donations. In the U.S, the NFF, not the dream team would have that status.

Enlightening. Learnt something new but in the case of the Dream Team, I doubt the Japanese Billionaire can use that for Tax claims. Considering we are operating on similar laws of the US.

Look at this article of the couple.

No time to dig deep into the matter. However, there is a kind of in place to assist bodies that assist. There is a filing system for this. From the points so far, I do not see how the Dream Team can qualify for Tax claims

He did not Donate to the NFF. He clearly wrote checks to Samson Siasia and Mikel. So there is no plan of Tax Evasion.

You are missing the point. The point of the whole discussion is there are a lot of things about the way the outside world conducts business that Nigerians are not aware of. And that is not good.

We know about the challenges we face in this country. We understand how behind we are in a lot of things, especially documentation.

In this case, this is about a Japanese businessman hearing about the challenges a team he likes went through. He went there to assist the team.

I do not see that as a crime. If we are talking about a suspected criminal, it is a different case. This is a legit businessman. Then it gets worse when we consider the crooks who call themselves Politicians.

If they have a problem with the Dream Team members receiving Cash gifts, then these men have to stop looting the country dry and start providing for Nigerians.

Thanks for your contribution.
