If you are doing paper application you will submit your passport with your application. I am sure submission is done everyday of the week at Lagos VFS. Not sure of Abuja. |

U can go any day on weekdays apart from public holiday. I used Abuja, just walk in submit, pay & do ur biometrics no appointment is needed. I applied in May this year and in less than a month they posted my passport with Visa granted. Dayzeeray: 3 Likes |

jinnyz: Thanks @Jinnyz for your response. Please further questions to all the gurus in the house: 1. Do I pay cash at the embassy there? 2. I don't have blood relatives in Canada but know a family from church who relocated there less than 2 years ago. Do you think I should ask them for a letter of invite to show ties to Canada or I should book hotel reservation? |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by jinnyz: 11:25am On Aug 29, 2016 |
We paid cash at the Abuja embassy, as at May it was around 35k BT that price might have doubled now due to Exch. Rate. My sis gave us letter of invite, I dnt know abt ur church member. Some1 else can help u answer that question. Dayzeeray: |

Hi Hotstepper, well done for the great work you are doing here. As a pregnant Canada PR, can you enter Canada at about 33weeks? How easy will it be to get a doctor? Will you have to pay yourself? Hotstepper: |

Hello good people, Please are married couples required to fill the Common Law Union form (in the paper application)? Thank you for your timely responses |
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 12:00am On Sep 03, 2016 |
If u have canada PR, u r good as a citizen and yes u can enter at 33 weeks and easily find a dr. Just go to any walk in clinic near u if u don't have a family Dr already. Register with the dr in the clinic and he or she will find u a gynea . Ur bills will be free nd that of the baby. Ur baby will aslo get health card and social insurance as a PR holder dupyshoo: 3 Likes 1 Share |

If u r married u dnt need to fill the common law form. You marriage certificate will suffice. Common law are for couples living together but are not legally married. Dayzeeray: |

Hotstepper: Pls Hotstepper if u still read this thread, I am 24wks Preggy and I want to apply for Canadian visa cos I want deliver there. How should I apply and am I supposed to tell them that my reason for going is cos I want to deliver or should we just apply for visa and the stay back for the birth. Pls can u give me the guidelines for the visa application. I will be going with my husband who is also a doctor here in Nigeria. Pls can u recommend a cheaper hospital or midwife and the breakdown of the cost of delivery both VD and CS. Can they turn one back at the point of entry because of the preggy. Pls I need the information urgent because I want to apply before I get to 30wks cos some airlines will not agree to carry one after that period. I want to have the flexibility to choose what I want now and not have to be forced to take anything else cos of time. I hope to hear from u soon. I have read a lot of good testimonies about and I hope to give mine too one day and tell my own experience. Thanks for your anticipated response. |

Hello again everyone I've mentioned before that I received the visa and mentioned all the details for everyone's benefit. and now am already there in Toronto and have been searching for an OB/GYN in Brampton (as I want to deliver in Brampton Civic Hospital) but with no luck and even the family doctor I found was in Mississauga and she said that she can't refer me to someone in Brampton as she only knows/deals with OB/GYNs in Mississauga, so please if anyone knows an OB/GYN who I can contact directly or a helpful family doctor in Brampton please give me the contacts as am 34 weeks already and almost there since am delivering C-Section and my due date is 15th of September!! Please Please Please I need your support Thanks in advance... |
