OP, GOD will bless you for this write up. A lot of sacrifice is required when you are earning salary and allowances - there is always that emotional and impulse push to live big as opposed to get what is necessary. If the opportunity calls please remember the basics :investment, housing, food,Clothing to mention a few. |

FTBOY:Bro the amount of over-aged single ladies out there is alarming. Many have fallen prey to their pastors as they keep sowing seed to get a husband. |

@Op you're lucky u married (from ur story) a good woman... I once asked a babe I really admired back in school a trick question " what will u do if you're married & 8months pregnant then your husband comes home to inform u he quit his job because it wasn't his passion/no motivation/unhappiness? " Her answer was proof of why till this day she's the yardstick I use to measure up ladies I meet. I wish u Good luck in your future endeavours, i'll advice you/wife to try to delve into entrepreneurship on the side (or hire a sales rep to manage the biz) while you monitor inventory / receipts on weekends... don't depend on one source of income. |

charles009:The only person to blame here is you! I wonder while the Sun was shining on you, why didn't you invest? If you had invested, you won't be crying. But thank God you're okay now. Remember to invest so you won't repeat you past mistakes. |

Bros you are a young man, nothing do you. Thank God your wake up call came early. Yoruba people have a saying Iya o je e o lo gbon, ta ni teacher e. Suffer no catch you, u say u wise, who be your teacher. You have learnt your lesson. Bigger and better opportunities will still come your way. God loves you that is why he pulled your ear when there is still time to amend. Stay focused and don't cry over spilled milk. |

No one is asking you not to enjoy your life as a youth, but do it wisely. And speaking of enjoyment, what enjoyment is there in having different women grace your bed at ur beck and call enh or lavishing on expensive alcoholic wines or drinks. Wise up. Invest in your tomorrow as a youngman and enjoy the rest of your mid and later years. d4guy: |

Only yorubas can make that kind of mistake. They love to enjoy life so much and throw owanbe parties all over the place without being financially futuristic. Eastern brains are born with default app on basic Economics. |

Yeah,Opportunity they say comes but once...I have learnt many lessons in the act of Work and Expenditure ...In order to succeed i advise most people i meet to do the following as a working class youth; ... Don't be tempted to live above your means,Don't rent a house of #500,000 Per Annum while you earn #1.5m..Your Rent must not exceed 15-20% of your yearly earnings ....Ensure you start a Capital Fund account you won't have access to and improve your capital base through Fixed Deposits,Govt. Bonds etc ....AVOID INSTAGRAM BABES...They can wreck your Finances with their insatiable demands ....Possibly Date a Working Class/Independent Lady or any Lady with a Conservative Mindset ... Do Charity work |

charles009:Very touching. But, what happened to you is actually a blessing in disguise. You needed to make those mistakes in order to correct them. Otherwise, how else would you have corrected them? You have to be very thankful it happened to you on time while you're still young and have a lot of time to catch up. And that wife of yours, if I'm lucky enough to come across that type of girl I will marry her, even though I decided not interested in marriage. The important thing now is you understand you made a mistake, but most important you take responsibility for your mistake, instead of blaming someone else a.k.a village people. If I tell you my own story you'll consider yours a small affair. You're talking about 1 car, I went from 4 cars to zero then back to one. But, I'm not bothered at all, cause unlike you, though I'm not a saint, but I can't say I wasted money in clubs or anything of such. In fact, I can say money I gave out for free both to people I know and even people I don't know was so much, but i'm not a greedy or stingy person. Since my mum late and I'm the head of the family, had to take care of everyone's need, but the major cause was going from one bad business venture to another until I crashed out. I can't blame myself for making an attempt that didn't pay off. Everything is ok. And that reminds me of one of my junior brother who's exactly at that age and probably living that type of life now. I was in Lagos the other time and saw one day he and her girl friend had a receipt of about N15,000 from a restuarant and I did worry for his sake, though I never said a word to him. This's a guy I spent money to go learn software coding at one of the best computer/tech outfit in Nigeria- APTEC and fortunately he learnt the stuff very well and have built some private software for me. But, he just prefer salaried job which gets him paid at month end. I have told him many times to try his hands in making APPs and other stuffs that can give him even more money, but he sees no reason why he should do so. Even if he quit that job, I could show him how to earn more money online legitimately, but he probably thinks he have a better idea. Before twitter I had that idea I wanted people discuss live evens online, before this holographic gaming I had that idea as well. Problem remains the technical skill to code them. And this guy is just taking peanut outside. He have his life to live though, but I really worry for him, cause the way I see him going, one day he's going to tell this type of story of yours. |

eph12:I agree with you @eph12 , but u'll also agree with me that savings is the foundation to buy a 4million naira piece of land if ur salary is 200k /month, you will have to save to achieve the property price tag. That's what am talking about. Have a nice day dear |

Thanks for the advice i pray things work out well for you very soon but i have something to add it's not only saving but investing in a business u understand, and mind you even if all you realize from the business a month is not more than 20k that one can take care of some of your monthly bills like buy petrol and paying for some other minor services. |

musicwriter:If you love your brother, best you speak to him. If I could turn back the hand of time, I would learn software programming. If you know what guys are doing with that skill, your brother will know he is earning peanuts. I know a guy who does not code but did over 40 million naira some months ago, thanks to Buhari's dollar scarcity. Too bad, just too bad. |
