Not talking about this particular topic here. I am totally against the treatment giving to the old woman. its unjustifiable. I am Talking about seun attitude of incessant castigating of RELIGION, and reminds him that Mark Zukerberg whom he sees above everyone else is a Religionist, He is jewish. just cos you dont believe in something doesnt mean you should caste it all the time or it doesnt exist. The lady clearly has ascitis. And sadly, 9ja is just the perfect place to develop such if you are poor to afford medical help: infection, TB, liver cirrhosis, cancer, several heart diseases: pericarditis, bacterial endocarditis, CCF, etc, pancreatitis, venous obstruction from schistosomiasis or Budd-Chiari disorder, kidney failure & so many other causes. That is on the clinical side.
But I witnessed something similar as a kid: some area boys (some just finished NYSC & no job, some admission seekers) were running towards the main road with sticks and anything they could lay their hands on. We kids sneakily followed behind them, mum was not at home. It was around 5pm on that Sunday.
On getting to the federal highway, we were shocked. Two elderly men were being pummeled with all kinds of things. Both were slim but had CONSPICUOUSLY LARGE BELLIES.

As people walking along enquired why the maltreatment of the elderly men, other occupants of the car explained that the two men had being banished from their village. And were to be deposited far away never to return. From another state I think. Allegedly, both men were witches who "stole" babies from pregnant women's wombs and take to their coven at night. And that baby will be a "useless" child when born. Because the witches would have already used/stolen his/her spirit or destiny/fortunes even before being born. On this occasion, the pregnant women had found out their babies were being taken and night had prepared for it. Instead of falling into deep sleep after the babies were taken, they woke up, presumably helped by a babalawo. When the two witches returned from the coven, the women were not in their beds, so they could not return the babies. . So they had to confess.
They would have died right there if not for one good samaritan, a local JW christian, who happened to be driving by and picked them from the crowd and took them to the hospital. We never heard about them again.
NOW: did the two witches have ascitis at the same time? Both were also delirious and confessed? Were were their family members in that village??
Although scientific logic won't allow me to accept this witchcraft thing, but that childhood observation is very vivid.
