She wasn't in the mood for my playful charm.
She wore a frown and went all motherly on me.

''baby,l've been in this school longer than you. I know things. I've seen things. It's not for nothing that he'd asked you to meet him at that place and that time. His motives are ulterior'',she said almost whispering.

To her chagrin,l burst out laughing.
''l wasn't trying to be funny'',she said to me curtly.

All l saw was a woman truly in love with me and scared of losing me.

That made me laughed more.
I laughed at her ignorance.
If she really knew me,she should know there was no cause for worry.
No cause for fear.
She knows nothing about my growing up.
What l have seen and done.

''Mine! I still feel that's more comfortable at the moment'',she replied me with a triumphant look.

Damn!!! I thought. It's getting to two months already and all l've gotten is a kiss.

I took my loss with a heavy heart and drove her to the hostel that night.
She gave me a long,sensual and tonging kiss that got my junior saluting.

When she stopped,she said to me almost crying,''l love you baby,please be careful''.

''l will'',l replied with my smile.

She drew me close,kissed my forehead,and left.

9:45am the next day,just before my second lecture,l was at the security post.

''Musa! Ya ne. You still remember me so?'',l asked the security man on duty.

Days after l gave him the umbrella for safe keep,l met Musa at a ''shepke'' and smoking joint.
I bought a lungfull of smoke for him that day and he has since remained grateful.

''l know. l just dey joke. Make l get that umbrella na'',l told him.

''ok. Ai dan si zha owna?'',he asked me while trying to sort the umbrella from other missing items.

''Yeah. Ai l don see am'',l replied.

''toh,gashi'',he said extending the umbrella to me with the same level of enthusiasm.

''nan gode'',l said to him and left,not actually paying attention to his fareware.

See me blushing yet I'm not even close to being Nonye.

I finished lecture by 12pm. I won't say l learnt anything because Nonye and l were exchanging messages all through my lecture.
I never paid attention to the lecturer.

We agreed to meet at the school canteen after my lecture.
She got there before me because her lecture didn't hold.

When l arrived at the canteen she ran to me and pecked me on the lips.
She dragged me to where she was seated,with a friend,like a mother crossing her kid on a highway.

I just followed.
I didn't have a choice.
When we sat she said immediately,''look behind me and tell me what you see''.

I took a quick glance and immediately noticed that that gang leader was seated in the canteen with two other boys and three pretty girls.

''Well,l see three misled youths...'',l said with a pause.
She immediately burst out laughing.
''And three very hot girls with them'',l concluded.
The change was real. She stopped laughing abruptly and pinched my nose.
''observe the misled youths only,ignore the 'hottttt' girls'',she said with a grimace while simultaneously pinching.

''Well'',l began with a shrug,''that should have been easier if you weren't starving the boy'',l concluded pointing to my junior.

Her friend had to chuckle at my reply.

She laughed at it and gave me a funny look,then said,''I'm actually starving literally. Shall we order some jellof and plantain while we decide how best to submit THAT umbrella to the real owner who's just behind me?''.

''of course we shall,my lady'',l said with my charming demeanor. ''but who's your friend?'',l asked with utmost curiosity.

''That l will tell you only when l'm full'',she replied as she stood to go make our order.

''hey'',l grabbed her hand,''it's pounded yam and vegetable for me''.

''No way. Mama says it jellof and plantain'',she replied as she wriggled her hand free from my grip.
