Please @bellong n @westafrica or anyone that applied after July 1st. Can u guys throw more light on this new visa rule. Who can be ur sponsor(s)? and what's the amount that should be in the bank account?. Please is it mandatory that someone should take the IELT test or is there any other way to go about the test?. The new visa rule is actually straight forward contrary to what many people think, statement of account is not acceptable as a means of financial proof, you can only use government tax clearance certificate of your parents or spouse (stating around #5m to #7m as annual income) as a means of financial proof if requested by your CO, test of english is require according to the visa checklist.

AUSTRALIA SUBCLASS 500 STUDENT VISA INTRODUCED ON 1ST JULY 2016 WHICH IS CALLED SIMPLIFIED STUDENT VISA FRAME WORK BUT IT IS NOT SO SIMPLE WITH HIGHEST REJECTION RATE AND LONG DELAY AND UNDERSTAND FIVE THINGS ABOUT THIS VISA

Australia’s new simplified student visa framework… not so simple?

SSVF - Five things you need to know about Australia’s new student visa framework

Australia’s new simplified student visa framework (SSVF) kicked into effect on 1 July 2016. Billed as a much-needed facelift for the Australian education sector, the framework aims to make applying for student visas feel less like jumping through circus hoops. It also envisions saving education providers a mountain of administrative paperwork. However, how ‘simple’ the framework actually is remains to be seen, as we explain below.

If you’re a potential student looking to further your education in Australia, here’s five things you need to know about the SSVF.

1. There are now only two visa subclasses…

Gone are the days when wanting to study in Australia meant selecting from one of many visas specific to your type of study. The SSVF has now reduced the number of student visas from eight to two:

International students (and their family members) will apply for a single Student visa (subclass 500) regardless of their chosen course of study;
Student guardians will apply for the new Student Guardian visa (subclass 590).

There are no restrictions on the duration of particular courses that the student must study to be accompanied by family members, including dependants who later join the student in Australia.

On the face of it, the reduction in the number of visas simplifies the application process – but it also makes assessing eligibility for a visa less straightforward than was previously the case. There will still presumably be different requirements and work rights for different types of study; only now these requirements are less explicit, having been subsumed into one visa category.

2. … and only one immigration risk framework.

By replacing both the current Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) arrangements and Assessment Level (AL) Framework, the new SSVF puts in place a single immigration risk framework that applies to all international students.

Under the SSVF, each country and each registered education provider is allocated an immigration risk rating. Both of these immigration risk ratings are then combined to determine what level of financial and English requirements prospective students will have to meet. (Immigration risk is calculated based on visa refusal rates, rates of students overstaying their visa and visa cancellation rates.)

All education providers have access to the benefits of what are called “streamlined evidentiary requirements”. This means that student visa applicants will generally not have to provide evidence of their English proficiency and can satisfy the financial capacity requirement just by making a declaration. The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) can still request further information if needed, however.

Education providers that receive the lowest immigration risk rating have streamlined evidentiary requirements for all countries, while education providers with the highest immigration risk rating only receive these benefits for students from the lowest immigration risk countries.

Country and provider immigration risk ratings will be updated twice a year, every March and September.

3. More people can now apply onshore.

Under the previous system, certain applicants were only allowed to apply from within Australia if they were renewing an existing student visa or were assessed as low-risk under the AL Framework.

But from 1 July 2016, all holders of a substantive visa (as long as they don’t fall into these categories) will be able to apply onshore for a student visa. This means, for instance, that those on a Working Holiday Visa, Graduate Temporary Subclass 485 Visa or a Partner Visa can apply without having to leave the country.

4. Applications are to be lodged online.

All students and student guardians will generally be required to lodge their visa application online by creating an account in ImmiAccount. This is a welcome change to the previous system, under which only a select few number of education agents could access fast-track applications online.

To find out what documentation they need to provide with their visa application based on their combined country provider immigration risk outcomes, students can use an online document checklist tool that can be found here.

5. But some things never change.

Despite all the changes, applicants still must meet all other core visa criteria, including the genuine temporary entrant requirement, health requirements and character requirements.

You don't choose school only because it is cheap, you have to put other factors into consideration.
Have you done any personal research on the city? It is one of the things to do when considering relocation.

Unfortunately, I can't help you look for schools, it is what you should do yourself.

If you can get supporting documents for your work experience, you can consider the construction project
manager. It is your responsibility to do personal research about it and the process. The templates are readily available here and on the internet with the help of Google.

I did a research on Adelaide it happens that most of the population are centralized only on the main city so to get job are not that easy to get.

I wanna know how the cost of living and getting a job that can cover for my tuition in Sydney would b compared to Adelaide. I want study advanced diploma in network security 2yrs in new south wales tafe can get me a post study stay in Australia.

To secure a job from Nigeria you need to have wealth of experience under your belt and must have studied a course that is highly in demand. Eg Medicine, Engineering. If you are a fresh graduate in Engineering and have studied in a recognized university you may be qualified for a skilled recognized graduate visa.
Find out more: https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/476-

Visa processing is between 1-3 months. Check link below

https://www.border.gov.au/about/access-accountability/service-standards/temporary-work-visa-processing-times

Fruit picking does not require a cert. Hence, you need a valid working visa.

If you are really serious, it is not little time you will spend but good time.

With this your profile, you can easily get a permanent resident visa. Read the thread I opened on guidelines for PR.

Go through every link in the thread, read the website of Engineers Australia who is responsible for assessing engineers.

If you read everything well, you will not need to ask any question because most challenges you may face in the process have been adequately answered.

The ball is in your court now.

What am about to say might not go down well with you. am also an engineer with a first degree in chemical engineering and currently doing masters here in australia. what am about saying is out of love and not as a hater. IF I WERE U I WILL COME TO OZ VIA PR (PERMANENT RESIDENCE) no need to come and waste your money especially when u plan on not being an academic. it will be better to enter and come do a six months internship to have australian work experience before starting to look for work than to come here all in an effort to get post work study after spending thousands of dollars with no access to scholarships like our brothers and sisters in the united states. if u have plenty money or on scholarship its a different case entirely. as for me i never looked at the PR critically until i was over invested in the whole student visa parade. Dont get it wrong coming to do Masters here is noble but i am asking you to do your COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS. truth is after school and ur post work study big ass employers still want u to have PR before they employ u. i have been here three months and 10 days now. in this time i have started my PR waka thanks to all the info i got from the lengends on this forum Bosslady et al. i decided to be proactive and have gone to several recruiters like chandler macloed, Hays and spoken to several other recruitment advisors in this firms. my general strategy was to inform them about my circumstance and ask them for advice on how to integrate myself into the industry after my program. BROS i cant begin to speak the english that i heard. plenty advice "Reasonable and unreasonable" the bottom line was I NEEDED PR ASAP. i have met other nigerians who came here with PR and working professional jobs with only BSC. if i get hold of that PR today all this acada will turn distant learning at my convenience or part time. MORAL OF MY STORY.... PR without work experience is better than masters without paper... so just take your time and come via PR. but if u are not patient enough you can still come ooooh its still waaaaaaay better than being in naija with all this drama and all. just be prepared to work your ass off to foot your bills if you dont have enough support from home.

God bless.

Only a good person would post what you posted. You are indeed a good man.

I am currently in Germany studying Msc in Chemical and Bioprocess Engineering. I did my bachelors in Nigeria (Chemical Engr) and a guy on Nairaland recommended that I read through your posts. That I have done. I am really interested in this PR route and would want to PM you for essy and quick access to information as I start this journey. I hope you dont mind that?
