Roosevelt Hotel – Hollywood, Los Angeles

Now this one is very interesting....

Montgomery Clift, stayed at the hotel for three months while rehearsing his role in the 1953 movie "From Here to Eternity." His ghost now allegedly haunts room #928 of the 9th floor of the hotel, playing a trumpet, and pacing the hallways while reciting his old lines

Marilyn Monroe has supposedly been seen several times in a full-length mirror, which was originally located in her poolside Suite 1200, where Marilyn often stayed. The mirror in which her image supposedly appears is now located next to the elevator on the lower level

There is also supposed to be a "cold spot" in the Blossom Ballroom at the same Roosevelt Hotel (the room where the very first Academy Awards ceremony was held), a circle about 30 inches in diameter and about 10 degrees colder than the rest of the ballroom

visit the Roosevelt Hotel in LA. The hotel was a staple of Old Hollywood, and Marilyn Monroe supposedly still visits her favorite room, Suite 1200

This matter tire me....would love those room that has ghost in them would move my whole family there and my whole generation....

Snake Island!!!

“Snake Island” is home to an estimated 4,000 Golden Lancehead Vipers, and is the only place in the world these extremely venomous snakes can be found. The only people who dare visit the uninhabited island are the occasional scientists who are truly brave souls.

Presently, reaching the island legally requires the cooperation of the Brazilian Navy. A particularly daring tourist could hypothetically travel to Peruíbe or Itanhaém (approx. 1.5-2.5 hours from downtown São Paulo) and convince a local with a boat to approach the island, but doing so is dangerous and illegal. Golden lanceheads can legally be seen at the Butantã Institute in São Paulo if one asks politely.

All those people on nairaland who love to eat snake i think you should all go to this island you will eat to your fill..that is if you survive sha.....

House of the Bulgarian Communist Party

Tucked away in the Balkan Mountains is this now abandoned monument to the Eastern Bloc. Graffiti marks the walls of the former seat of Bulgaria’s Communist Party. The place looks like a crashed spaceship. Completely otherworldly

Formally known as the House-Monument of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the monument at Buzludzha Peak is like something out of a 1950s sci-fi movie.
Perched on a high promontory of the Balkan Mountains, this otherworldly structure resembles a great concrete saucer adorned with rousing socialist slogans. Now abandoned, the site has become one of the world’s most famous modern ruins; but as a symbol, Buzludzha is more than just a building, and its demise carries a deeper significance than can rightly be understood by the crowds of foreign visitors who now visit the monument from week to week.
I don’t know how many times I’ve been to Buzludzha now – but I’ll always remember my first time. What follows is an account of that first visit, on a cold spring day back in 2012, with the saucer still cloaked in its winter coat of snow upon the mountaintop; but first, a little background to this surreal memorial.

The Poison Garden

In this section of the famed Alnwick Garden, you definitely don’t want to stop and smell the roses because they could kill you. Added in 2005 as a bit of a tourist attraction, the garden’s plants are toxic and poisonous, and grown for educational purposes.

this kind of reminds me of the garden of eden.....where it all started..

Cambridge Military Hospital – Aldershot, England

From 1878 to 1996 the hospital treated Britain’s soldiers and then civilians until high costs and asbestos caused the hospital to close its doors. Certainly the souls of an unfortunate patient or two still haven’t checked out

Leap Castle (most haunted castle in Ireland)

Leap Castle is said to be the most haunted castle in Ireland. It has had a horrific history with each passing century being punctuated by ferocious acts of violence. One of the most gruesome murders to take place in the castle occurred in 1532 in a room above the main hall of the castle which is now know as ‘The Bloody Chapel’ and this is the room featured in this photograph.

The original castle is thought to have been built circa 1250 and was the principal seat of the fearsome Ely O’Carroll clan. In the aftermath of the death of the chieftain Mulrooney O’Carroll in 1532 a bitter succession dispute arose over the leadership of the clan. The dispute came to an abrupt end when 'one-eyed Teige O’Carroll' who as mass was being celebrated in the room stormed in chanting holy rites and drove a sword into the back of the priest who was also his older brother Thaddeus. The fatally wounded priest fell onto the altar in front of his family and breathed his last.

Hill of Crosses

The “Hill of Crosses” has been a central location to religious Lithuanians who have placed crosses on the hill for over 150 years. Even after the ruling Soviets destroyed the hill multiple times, the devout would return and bring more and more crosses with them. There are now over 100,000 crosses on the hill.

Hashima Island, Japan

The abandoned island off the coast of Nagasaki was home to over 5,000 as a mining community, until the mines ran dry in 1974. The island was left to rot and now stand as time capsule over 40 years later.

If you've seen the James Bond film "Skyfall," then you were probably struck by Javier Bardem's portrayal of the villain, Raoul Silva. He's a bad dude, and his evil island lair seems a fitting place for him — a rotting heap of buildings sitting out in the middle of the ocean, populated with derelict buildings. It's so creepy, that you think it can't be real.

But here's the thing. The island is real. And its true history is even creepier than you can imagine.

Fine place like this has been abandon that is what i know wont happen in nigeria Omo onile would take over the plaace and start selling plot by plot....

Subway System – Cincinnati, Ohio

The Queen City tried to build a subway system, but ran out of funding in the 90’s. An eerie system of half-built tunnels and abandoned subway cars are now found throughout the city.

The subway project was scrapped without a single train ever having run. The debt incurred by the project wasn't fully paid until 1966, at a cost of $13 million--in addition to the lives of several workers. According to someone who e-mailed me, the subway is said to be haunted by the ghosts of the dead workmen. The only thing remotely resembling the paranormal which occurred while we were travelling through the subway happened when we were about a mile in; in the middle of a sentence we both heard a "shhh" sound, like someone shushing us. Creepy, but then again we heard lots of noises coming from traffic overhead.

I thought it was only in Naija we had abandoned projects....

San Zhi Resort – Taiwan

Construction of the resort outside of Taipei was halted after a series of mysterious accidents and suicides. People said the calamities were caused from bad luck due to the destruction of a Chinese dragon statue during construction and/or possibly the site being an old burial ground for Dutch soldiers.

Poveglia, Italy

Known as “Plague Island”, Poveglia was a place of forced quarantine for plague victims from 1793 to 1814 that numbered about 160,000. Their mass graves are still there. Perhaps even more morbid, the island would later be home to a mental hospital whose doctor did strange experiments on patients before killing himself because he said he was being haunted by ghosts

Sanctuary of Tophet, Tunisia

Ancient Tunisians would sacrifice thousands of children during hard times. Seems legit

The Sanctuary of Tophet holds the remains of a vast number of children’s graves dating back to the Punic period of Carthage. Many historians have speculated that the Carthaginians practised child-sacrifice during times of serious hardship, though this point is hotly disputed

We are in Africa we might soon find our self in Nigeria..... grin
