Hello NL members pls I greet everyone here,my issue is that in Sept 3rd 2007 I was refused visiting visa but the problem was that the name I used on my passport then wasn't my real name and even all the documents were packaged too.ever since then I am afraid to apply with my new e passport that bears my real name and I'm married and be willing to travel on vacatio with my family not even fo greener pasture anymore coz we are blessed already.pls how can I go about my new name now?thank you

LadyG, Seyewest and other learned fellows. I bring you warm greetings from Obamaland. smiley

Now i fully understand why ties are strongly checked before the approval of visa applications. This place is super tempting and one can easily refuse to return home if you have no ties to "drag" you back. Cant wait to reunite with my kids.

Should be out of here by February. God bless us all.

That's not true...
There are three year bans, there are 10 year bans, there are even lifetime bans. It's important to listen to what the visa officer tells you so that you know how long your ban is for.

When you lie. You damage your intergrity. If you have been banned...
If you haven't, your intergrity is still an issue and it will take some convincing for the vo to believe u.

Judging from hundreds or replies here from rejected applicants.
Only a tiny percentage listen to the officer or read their rejection paper. shocked shocked

This is quite clear from the questions asked.
Also people post long transcripts of their interview but not the rejection code which would make things clear!

It is well! By the time she is called in randomly for an interview during renewal (if she will be coming home oh), this thread becomes unnecessarily busy with all the questions afresh. Lemme assume the February I read up there is a mistake or it's for good explainable reason, else I will conclude we are being mocked here (as the did is already done).

Common sense alone will tell anyone that if you have a serz job or family, you can't stay away for 6 months. Clearly the person has something better to do in the US.
When I read those renewal questions I always wonder why folks post it . At that point stories like 'my aunty was sick so I stayed back to show love and cherish...' Go full the place.
Well everyborry get their life and cross.

You said it all LadyG. I mean, how could someone just decided to stay away for 6 months when you told the vo you had a job and probably a family to return home to Na then different stories about unknown and undeclared relatives go begin fly upadawn during renewal. smiley

May I understand the import of this thing you keep emphasizing? We know oftentimes it's the generic section 214(b) stuff that gets issued to them. They listen and they read methinks. The understanding of that paper and its content is what this is about. VOs are constrained from giving you details as a policy, we wouldn't blame them.

Have you seen how detailed the UK own is? The Canadian one (GCMS notes) can be gotten by applicants if they so wish to get the details of what transpired or is being held against them (sometimes very cheap and easily correctable, and at other times heartbreaking, etc but at least one becomes aware and stay of their embassy if need be). You need some senator or so to do that for you in the US case if refused. Those notes and deeper reasons are very important if I may say.

Some of us rant here when refused, I'm sure if some of us knew the exact reason for denial we will be put to shame and just zip our rants up, really. Imagine a VO denying you a visa for and to a PLEASURE trip because your wife is heavy (with even your 2 year old child in her care too, and these ought to be your strong ties in your estimation, right? But....) and yet you decide to travel at a time close to her delivery for 3-4wks, will you come and be speaking grammar here of being unjustly treated? People need to know these reasons indepthly! Hoping the US frees this part of visa applications up some day. Regards

Yes your points are valid.
I see comments like
"I was denied for some reason."
"The VO did not explain."

Post a transcript by all means, but the rejection code, even if it is 214b gives guidance for the way forward.
Sometimes we have to work hard to discover that the reason was false papers or finance. wink
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 2:27pm On Sep 15, 2016
@omobendel whilst I agree that your points are valid. I'll say that every applicants needs to get one thing clear before applying
1. America is not your fatherland. You just need to understand you can be refused. If you knock on my house door I can decide not to open. And I don't have to tell you why. It is my house. My door. My rules

2. Applicants' idea of ties may not be the same with the vos.
If applicants can get these principles down and objectively access themselves, a lotta folks wouldn't be applying and reapplying.
Then Nigerians generally have killed our good name hence the way they treat us. Do they treat other nationals same way? Nope.
Case in point: I am going for 14 days ends up staying for 6 months...

The problem with that is she would need to convince a VO at her next renewal that she did not work and violate her visa in the almost 6months she is planning to spend.
