Crime is worse than where you are presently. Don't make your situation worse. Everyone has his own cross to bear. This phase of life will pass you by. Hang on bro.

What did you study and where are you based?

EXCUSES FOR FAILURE, THE KILLER OF TALENTS
A
KING CALLED TOGETHER A NUMBER OF HIS SUBJECTS AND SET THEM TO DIG A SERIES OF FURROWS. TO EACH MAN HE GAVE A DIFFERENT SPADE. ONE CONSIDERED THAT HIS SPADE WAS TOO LONG, ANOTHER THAT HIS WAS TOO SHORT, ANOTHER THAT HIS WAS TOO BROAD, YET ANOTHER THAT HIS WAS TOO NARROW AND SO ON. THEY SPENT A WHOLE LOT OF TIME DISCUSSING THESE DEFECTS AND MADE VERY LITTLE PROGRESS ON THE JOB. BUT ONE MAN JUST TOOK OFF HIS COAT AND BEGAN TO DIG AS BEST AS HE COULD WITH THE SPADE HE HAD RECEIVED. HE FINISHED HIS “FURROW” LONG BEFORE THE OTHERS, ALTHOUGH HIS SPADE WAS NO BETTER THAN THAT OF THE OTHERS.
LIFE IS LIKE DIGGING A “FURROW”! YOU HAVE SOME DREAMS, SOME GOALS, ASPIRATIONS, SOMETHING YOU WANT, AND YOU HAVE A SPADE, GET DOWN TO WORK, DON’T WASTE TIME THINKING OF HOW MUCH BETTER YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN OR SUCCEEDED IF YOU HAD OTHER TALENTS AND ADVANTAGES (A BETTER SPADE) LIKE A HIGHER EDUCATION, A HANDSOME FACE, A BETTER BRAIN, A RICH PARENT AND SO ON
ALWAYS REMEMBER; NOBODY HAS IT ALL, YOU MUST DIG YOUR OWN “FURROW”! YOU ARE YOU AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE YOU OR ANY ONE CAN DO ABOUT IT, STOP TRYING TO BE SOMEONE ELSE, GET DOWN TO THE JOB, THE TIME TO BEGIN IS NOW AND THE PLACE TO START FROM IS RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.
FORGET YOUR OWN ASSUMED INADEQUACIES AND YOU WILL REALIZE TO YOUR SURPRISE HOW MUCH EASY IT IS TO SUCCEED. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF COMPARING YOURSELF WITH OTHERS WHEN IT IS REALLY NOT NECESSARY.

DO NOT LOOK FOR EXCUSES, STOP LOOKING FOR EXCUSES, DO THE THINGS YOU THINK YOU FEAR AND WATCH THE FEAR DISAPPEAR AND DO IT NOW, IT WILL SOON BECOME A HABIT AND THE FEAR WILL BE A THING OF THE PAST.

bro l had to dig this out from my Facebook page. the folks who commented above on your thread are kind enough at least you owe the some gratitude.
currently in Nigeria you simply need 3 simple steps to put food on the table, viz: Some THOUGHT, CREATIVITY, AND INITIATIVE, you can develop those points to suit you. l wish you the best.. but stay aware from crime, it bites more than serpent.

The advice i have 4 u is this.
keep ur degree aside and go learn a skill. dnt put too much hope on paper qualification and dnt think u are too old to learn a skill. i saw a married man with 3 kids puts his qualification outside as things are nt working out well and starts all over as an apprentice to a welder, he was patiently learning the skill despite all odds but today, that same man is a proud owner of a big welding workshop with lots of boys under him, he is living fine, has his own car and currently building a big house.
My brother dnt rely on ur qualification of 6 yrs back when companies are interested in fresh graduates not above the age of 25.
i had to keep my qualification aside and go learn software engineering of which i believe by the grace of God i will start my own biz after am tru with the program.
Learning a skill might even boost ur chances in the labour market with ur degree.
My opinion
Plz what area of software engineering, am kind of interested, thank you!
As for you op, be humble and seek. God's help, his Grace will qualify you and open closed doors!

if actually you keep going with this capitalist ideology that society owes no one anything, is it not better we go back to the anarchical state of nature? Where no govt rules over anyone and each man must survive for himself?

It beats my imagination how we keep saying this things when actually few people mortgage what belongs to us all. Is the president of Nigeria more human than any of us? Why will a people supervise and predetermine and condition the way we live our lives? Are you telling me dat aside corruption that has bedeviled Nigeria over the years that all Nigerians will remain the way they are? Do you know how many destinies and lives that have been reconfigured as a result of perversive and monumental corruption? Nigeria owes its citizens not just good and quality lives but an equal opportunity of growth. This is why we surrendered our individual chaos and sovereignty to the state(govt). The primary essence of govt is to do for the people what they cannot do for themselves.

Inasmuch as I understand and appreciate your line of thought, I do not necessarily disturb my self with circumstances beyond my control ! The gentleman in question has been waiting on the government for the past 6 years... What have they offered him? My destiny is in my own hands! I will never sit back and allow anyone or any government ruin or manipulate my life.

I think today makes it exactly six years I graduated from a state owned university somewhere here in Nigeria with a fairly good result. After so many application and numerous interviews, I am yet to get a job.

I think it is high time I delve into crime, or worse still money rituals. Please do not give me all those sanctimonous talk about '' God will do it'' '' be patience'' ''hustle hard'' ' 'self employment'' ''start up'' and all those bullshit.

Heaven knows I have tried my best. I have gone into start ups that failed eventually due to the Nigerian factor. I have involved myslef in careers that are below my qualification; I have sold rat poison; I have done cleaning/sanitaion jobs; I have hawked wares etc etc etc.

I am the only male child of my family. I need to cater for my family. I am not getting younger also, I need to plan for my own life too. IT IS HIGH TIME I LEAVE THE LEGITIMATE AND GO INTO THE ILLEGITIMATE
have u tried buying and selling business? identify a need in ur immediate environment(life food stuffs) and source the items where it is relatively low and come and market it to people around u. u can as well meet people that own restaurants or any fast food and strike a deal with them on items u can supply them. u can start small and dont complain about capital because the only thing needed to start a business is a vision not capital. Also dont forget to put everything in the hands of God because he said "SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND".I hope this meets u in good faith..Take care

Thanks for seeing the usefulness in my post. I recently got a job to write about 100 articles of 2000 words for 1,500 naira each. I can do about 5000 words everyday. Multiply 1,500 by 100 and see what I'm talking about. I had to reject it because it didn't meet my expectations as pertaining to price.

I'm just using this to let him know what you can make by staying in the comfort of your home and writing articles for people. So the ball is in his court. Stay legal and be free or go illegal and keep looking over your shoulders all the time.

No body owes u anything bro. ur destiny is in ur hands

At age 5 his Father died.
At age 16 he quit school.
At age 17 he had already lost four jobs.
At age 18 he got married.
Between ages 18 and 22, he was a railroad conductor and
failed.
He joined the army and washed out there.
He applied for law school he was rejected.
He became an insurance sales man and failed again.
At age 19 he became a father.
At age 20 his wife left him and took their baby daughter.
He became a cook and dishwasher in a small cafe.
He failed in an attempt to kidnap his own daughter, and
eventually he convinced his wife to return home.
At age 65 he retired.
On the 1st day of retirement he received a cheque from the
Government for $105.
He felt that the Government was saying that he couldn’t
provide for himself.
He decided to commit suicide, it wasn’t worth living anymore;
he had failed so much.
He sat under a tree writing his will, but instead, he wrote what
he would have accomplished with his life. He realised there
was much more that he hadn’t done. There was one thing he
could do better than anyone he knew. And that was how to
cook.
So he borrowed $87 against his cheque and bought and fried
up some chicken using his recipe, and went door to door to
sell them to his neighbours in Kentucky.
Remember at age 65 he was ready to commit suicide.
But at age 88 Colonel Sanders, founder of Kentucky Fried
Chicken (KFC) Empire was a billionaire.
Moral of the story: Attitude. It's never too late to start all over.
MOST IMPORTANLY, IT'S ALL ABOUT YOUR ATTITUDE.
NEVER GIVE UP NO MATTER HOW HARD IT GETS.
You have what it takes to be successful. Go for it and make a
difference.
