I got in through Conference and I'm back home. You should go through the forum very well.. You will see more than 10 instances for your particular issue.

I heard someone said if you requested for 2 weeks Visa that the V.O can stamp 6 months for you,how true is this?
I'm curious.... Have they issued you a U.S visit visa? if not then why are you worried about 2 weeks and 6 months stamp?

I got an Invitation letter from my sister who is an US citizen, can anyone states the Documents I need to take along to the interview

if she is currently in Nigeria,do she need to follow me to the interview? what sense would this make?

It would do you a lot of good to go to the US embassy website and read. Cos from these questions, you are yet to get the hang of it.
The documents required are on the US embassy website but on reality they NEVER ask for it. You can go thru the thread and verify from transcripts.

Your sister who's a citizen can be allowed in to the embassy for her own business. Are you inclusive of that business? NO. Because your visa is granted based on you and your ties and not what or who u have in the US.
End point, your sister will not be interviewed with you under any circumstance

It is at the discretion of the cbp (the police at the gate of america-for lack of a better term) to stamp you in for any period not exceeding 6 months.so yes, you may apply for a 2 week trip and be stamped in for 6 months. Dosent mean you should stay that whole period by force

Hello LadyG,in one of your reply in this forum, you somehow emphasis that travelling experience should not include Togo,Ghana and Dubai. Why these countries,is there something fishing out in these countries. Please I really want to know.

Its really simple.
The reason why travel history helps is because if for example , you visited UK (a very developed country) and didn't default on your visa and returned to Naija (fill in the apprioprate adjective), then there's a higher likelihood that you will also leave the US as you said. Pray tell, in your opinion visiting Togo and Ghana which are in Africa and akin to Nigeria with its many problems, what does it add? What issit that will tempt you to leave your job and family to permanently reside there? How many people run away from Nigeria to Togo? Which job can you get there? As opposed to the US where you have several opportunites for under the table employment.
Then as for Dubai, really anybody can get the visa. I'm yet to see who said he was denied a Dubai visa. UK on the other hand conducts checks sometimes, go through your documents and sorta sieve the grain from the chaff.
With these few points of mine I hope I convinced you that Togo travel history can never have the same weight with European contry travel history.

Ermm correction. I did not emphasize that travel history SHOULD NOT include these countries, rather that the weight attached to these countries aren't fantastic. Reason already posted

Nobody except the V.O can determine your chances... You can go through the thread from Page 1 to the end... You will learn a lot that I can promise you.

Thanks to all, I got my visa! I studied peoples transcript carefully and I learnt a lot. I learnt that confidence is of utmost importance for a successful interview. So my battery was well charged. I wore a new suit, new tie, new shoe and most importantly, I wore a brand new smile...lol

VO: Passport pls
Me: Passed my 2 passports
VO: scanned through my new passport. You have been to Germany 5 times this year alone, what do you do for a living?
Me: I work as an Assistant Logistics Manager at ****Limited, and my job involves hitting the road often to meet our business partners for business meetings.
VO: OK. (Not looking satisfied) You recently traveled to Brazil, what for?
Me: I traveled to meet our Logstics partner in Sao Paulo and also to cheer Team Nigeria at the Olympics, unfortunately we didn't come out in flying colours like the US team.
VO: (blushed) typed for about 30secs or so, are you married?
Me: No, am not.
VO: Are you traveling to the US for business also?
Me: oh no! Vacation
VO: Where would you be visiting on this trip and how long would you be staying?
Me: I intend to visit New York and enjoy a bus ride to Washington DC. I also intend to stay for 2weeks.
VO: smiling, (typing for about 20 secs) Do you have anybody in the US?
Me: Yes, I do have an uncle who lives in Houston, Texas with his family.
VO: Your visa is approved, pick up at this circled place in 3 days. Gave me a slip and returned my old passport.
Me: smiling, thanks, God Bless you.

That place has a way of making people nervous, a lot of people were speaking incoherently and avoiding eye contact, many of them didn't make it. In my opinion, I believe those guys at the embassy are cool.

Collected my passport on Wednesday, booked a Lufthansa flight to Newyork that evening, traveled on Thursday. America is indeed beautiful!

Unlike in Europe, everything is big here, even their babes. Nothing is free here, i have spent a lot of money on stuffs i would get cheaply or even for free in Spain or even Italy. I was surprised, when I met a Policeman with a tag name (**** Alade) while I was waiting for a Taxi, I spoke Yoruba to him straight and he responded speaking Yoruba back. I felt at home immediately. We even spoke about Mushin Olosha, God Bless America...God Bless Nigeria!

Visa reciprocity means that even if you're applying to go for one day, you'll get a two-year visa.
It's when you arrive at the POE that the CBP officer will determine how long you stay for that particular visit.
Usually, they give you enough latitude

Hi LadyG. My fiancee who's in Nigeria has been asked to provide a police certificate which should be brought in on the day of the interview. Please what are the steps involved in getting a police certificate in Lagos and how long does it take? Also, she's supposed to have a medical exam done at one of the clinics recommended by the U.S embassy; I called the listed phone numbers to the clinic and no one picked, I just want to know how easy it is to get an appointment or do you just show up to the clinic and have the medical examination done there and then? Can you also, shed some light on some of the common questions asked during the interview for K1 visa. Thanks
This is the visit visa thread o. So enter 50 naira keke to the migrant visa thread. All those things you asked aren't applicable here and would be a detraction...
But good luck to y'all

No need to be rude dear, if I was in naija I wouldn't be asking you this question, nonetheless thanks anyway.

That was a polite and factual answer not rude at all.

Just because the answer is not what you want to hear you do not have any right to throw insults at people
who give up their own time to help people.

You should apologise at once to LadyG!

If the message came across as rude, sorry. The reference to keke is clearly (or so I thought) a joke.
However it still remains a fact that different threads exist for difference purposes and this is NOT for K visas.
