PRESS RELEASE

WE MUST FIGHT CORRUPTION FOR ITS DAMAGE ON NIGERIA ECONOMY-VP

It is important that Nigerians insist that the problem of corruption must be dealt with considering the extent of the damage it has caused the country's economy.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, made the assertion today while receiving a delegation of the University of Lagos Alumni Association that paid him a courtesy call at the Presidential Villa.

"We've watched corruption fighting back, some people even said bring back corruption, but not the man on the street," according to Prof. Osinbajo who added that the nation has witnessed excessive corruption.

Said he : "no economy can tolerate the level of corruption seen in Nigeria without consequences. Look at the Northeast, while a war is going, Nigerian lives being lost, some local governments had been taken over, and yet people cannot account for $15B meant for security equipment purchases."

"The corruption has been so much. Look at the sheer amount of money stolen and decisions taken that fuels corruption, decisions taken just with the sole aim of cornering national resources," the Vice President lamented.

While explaining the Buhari administration's approach to the fight against corruption, the Vice President noted that "we are not sitting down focussing on it, all we do is to empower the relevant agencies EFCC and co to do their jobs. Our main focus is the national economy."

Continuing he said "what catches our attention is the kind of discoveries we get and hear of daily." But he observed that Nigeria is still blessed with honest people, adding that as a nation it is important to pay serious attention to issues of integrity.

According to him, regarding the current government, "I can say is one that is completely focussed on dealing with issues that concerns this country. I work everyday with the President so I can say so. He is totally focussed on how to make this country a better place to live."

The UNILAG Alumni Association was led by Dr. Sunny Kuku who noted the group's support for the Buhari administration, expressing readiness to assist in any way necessary. He said the members of the Alumni Association were proud that one of them rose to the high office of the Vice President. Prof. Osinbajo said he was glad to receive the group in his office and grateful to be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award.

Corruption is an act solely committed by PDP members according to Buhari and his Zombies.

Evidence That Kyari Took N500m From MTN To Help Reduce Fine Presented To Buhari.

President Muhammad Buhari has received concrete evidence that his Chief of Staff (CoS), Abba Kyari, took N500m from operators of MTN to help the telecommunications giant mitigate the fine imposed on it by the federal government, SaharaReporters has learned.

Sources say the evidence was presented to President Buhari several times including during the Sallah holiday.

The mind-boggling revelation is the latest in the mounting allegations of corruption involving members of the top echelon of President Buhari’s administration.

Confronted with the evidence, the CoS reportedly claimed he was helping the All Progressives Congress party raise funds for the gubernatorial election in Bayelsa State, to which the president is said to have asked him if he was the party chairman, but did not relieve him of his post.

Among others:

The Chief of Army Staff, Yusuf Buratai, was found to have used Nigerian Army funds to purchase homes in Dubai;
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Abdulrahman Dambazau, bought homes for millions of dollars in Boston in the United States;
Several other aides and officials within the government have been exposed for involvement in illegal employments and forgery of age and certificates.

As in the case of Mr. Kyari, they have so far all been shielded by President Buhari. Speaking earlier this to journalists in Daura, his hometown, the president said his “anti-corruption war” was being implemented on the basis of justice and fairness.

Anyway wetin concern me for here.

I know say Buhari and his teaming zombie followers have always and consistently defined corruption as an act that is only capable of being committed by PDP members.

corruption as been in Depth part of most Nigeria politican,a fight for corruption is a good call but they should not forget that they have to focus on other relevant challenges facing the country,buhari administration should take drastic measure in the fight against corruption and make sure the offenders are been punished and sanction regardless of his status in the society.Once a legacy is made they will know u are serious in the fight against corruption,cause am tired of hearing these stuff every now and then ,take action rather than blabbing of mouth,The government should focus on how the economy will be back on his track cause things are not going well in the country.Action speak louder than voice,they should focus on other things and set the country right,My personal opinion.

The corruption you guys been fighting haven't improved the poor economical statr of the country neither has it helped the masses,

Or are you guys fighting corruptions for your pockets only?

At least when GEJ was in power there was money circulation even though the dollar price was going up.

But in your case PMB; high price of goods and transportation plus no money.

Hmmm! Kwantinue.
