From my own side point of view both op are correct in their own ways, I also checked the list, first of all the school is in the east whether federal or state university they love to admit their ppl first, all schools are guilty of that, I remember that time in AAU I got 51 while my friend for 47 but hé was admitted simply because he came from that place, so nsukka admitting 99% igbos maybe because they are from the east or few S/west applied

Buhari is the President of Nigeria and is expected by the Constitution, federal character and democracy to run an inclusive Government, hence appointing individuals from all the regions, this he crazily didn't do..

Football game is a totally different issue, football is based on talents, coach tactics, preferences etc..
A Football team has nothing to do with democracy or federal character.
For example, America's Olympic basketball team is made up of ONLY blacks no SINGLE white or Latino.
Spanish football team during World Cup the won SA 2010 was made up of 90% players from Real Madrid and Barcelona (there are over 40 clubs in Spain, and over 200 professional Footballers)

Likewise, the President's choice of advisers, ministers, etc are based on their capabilities, experience, personal preference i.e his ability to work with them, etc. President Buhari's cabinet is not made up of only Northerners, there are enough southerners there too, but I can only attribute the prescence of more Northerners to the fact that they are people he has known over the years, and interacted with. People he has previously spent time with, and he feels work would go smoothly with them.

Emir of Kano Alh Muhammadu Sanusi II (Kano), is the pro-chancellor University of Benin.

Shehu of Borno, Mustapha Umar El-Kanemi (Borno) is the pro - chancellor University of Lagos.

Buhari is expected to appoint whoever he deems the most qualified. Which is his personal decision, in his position as president. Before recently, most US presidents had cabinets of mostly white men, people they knew, despite the united states being even more diverse than Nigeria.


Likewise, the President's choice of advisers, ministers, etc are based on their capabilities, experience, personal preference i.e his ability to work with them, etc. President Buhari's cabinet is not made up of only Northerners, there are enough southerners there too, but I can only attribute the prescence of more Northerners to the fact that they are people he has known over the years, and interacted with. People he has previously spent time with, and he feels work would go smoothly with them.

if yorubas's cut off mark should be made 70, believe me other tribe including the igbos will be giving 40 to 50 that is how it is done here.

It is university if Nigeria not University of igbos for God sake, that university should be the best in Nigeria and Africa to make Nigeria a great country but if na only igbo students dey there, the purpose has bn forfeited.

Same thing is applicable to the recruitment of staff in state and federal universities....the southwest readily considers staffs applications frm all regions.

my brother take am easy, no be fight...i'm a student of UNN and I know how things are done there, if u ask 100 yoruba students that are writing jamb the name of the school they applied to, I bet u only 3 of them might have applied to UNN and virtually none of them have heard of the school UNN. Most yoruba students always go for their popular, UNILAG, IFE, UI, OOU etc. Cos they have so many institutions in the west to make choices from. I have just yoruba student in my class, and he might not have done better than his igbo counterparts but he was offered the admission without stress. Proud Lion
