So this thread was brought to my attention by a nairalander. I am not sure what else needs to be said on here. however if anyone has any

questions, you can post it right here and i will do my best to respond.

One thing i must stress though, is that getting the visa from Nigeria is the hard part, going thru the POE is the easy part..

For years, some Nigerians has spoilt our countries name here, especially in Tokyo (Especially the igbos and yorubas). I have no beef against

any of this ethnicities but i am only stating the fact. From pimping ladies on the streets of roppongi, to drugs, etc.

On the flipside, We have serious minded Nigerians here who earn their living the legit way, from oil and gas, education sector, IT sector etc.

There was even a Yoruba guy by the name of Bobby Ologun ( look him on the internet for more information) who was very popular.

Sorry least i forget, knowning the Japanese language is key if you want to succeed here... If you dont know the language, you will be

handicapped seriously....

Pls bro I need more explanation on POE, you said going through POE is the easy part , full mean of POE

Just as detailed on the website.

You have tourist, Education or business visa.

Click on the section you want and follow 'religiously' all requirements.

This is it.

I went to Abuja on the 28th of September, 2015 and on the 2nd of October, 2015 my Visa was ready. Took about 3days, cos October 1st was national holiday.

Common things are

1) passport photo
2) Invitation letter from Japanese sponsor
3) Your bank statement ( I presented about 3 and in excess of 5m)
4) Though company sponsored my trip. I still showed them I could have sponsored myself
5) my letter of employment
6) I'm a professional so I showed evidence of belonging to a professional body in Nigeria. Eg ICAN, NBA, NMA, CITN, etc

7) Introduction letter from my company

cool hotel booking
9) Air ticket reservation
10) tax card

That's all.

But be sure you have a strong ties with Nigeria and the person inviting you from Japan must be capable

Landed in Narita Int.

We went to Marita express and took train.

Got ticket to Suidobashi. One from Narita to Tokyo station and the other to Suidobashi.

When we got to Tokyo, I was lost patapata. Saw the only Japanese who could speak English and he helped me out.

He said the Suidobashi train stopped and I have to go through Kunda and ochaomizu at subo line.

On getting to Ochanonizu, no one could speak in English, then I knew I was in for it.

I just walked up a staircase from the underground to the normal ground level.

Not knowing when to turn to, saw this couple and walked up to them telling my predicament. Time now 11:30pm Japanese time.

They couldn't English too well. The guy was trying, but the lady is zero.

Cab man, not fit speak A and B. We had to use car Navigation system to trace Suidobashi in Chiyoda Ku.

These couple had to join me in the cab to lead me to the hotel themselves.

The cab billed me ¥1000 yen from Ochanomizu to Suidobashi. It was the car that calculated the fare on the metre board.

We got to the hotel, I booked from Nigeria via Booking. com and these couple finally said their good bye.

I thanked them a lot and prayed for them.

Moral is that don't enter as a stranger to anywhere in the night, except you have a strong lead

I am planning to go for a conference in Japan that will be holding between November 22 to 24th but the Committee will only send me Invitation letter and no other document. It's actually an international conference for Engineering and Applied Science Researchers and i am currently a Masters degree student in one of Nigerian Universities. Please, how best do i go about this in order to obtain my visa and scale through other immigration processes?
Note: I will be going by a Company's sponsorship and can provide identification letter from my department.
Thank you in anticipation.

Thank you so much for your quick response.
But, considering my case below, what advice do you have for me;

i go about this in order to obtain my visa and

Also, what is expected to be in the content of the sponsor's letter and do they ask for any kind of health insurance?
Note: I will be going by a Company's sponsorship
and can provide identification letter from my School/
department.

One more question. Must all the letters be addressed to Japanese embassy or To whom it may concern?
Just to know as to avoid unnecessary mistakes.
