Though slapping wasn't the best approach to communicate his displeasure to his wife's wickedness and selfishness but yes she failed by denying her husband of sex.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with having sex before going to church.
In fact, your marriage comes first before any church and if as a wife her husband pleaded for sex and she refused with this silly excuses that she gave, then she shouldn't be married to him in the first place.
