cos na his church de collect tax frm d pple now nd is it d responsibility of church to perform govt responsibility
If his church had gone there to clear that rubbish don't you think this thread would have been full of praises for that priest and enough bashing for the govt?
Does this church not tax the people in form of tithes, so he has a social responsibility towards the society too

I see some people saying that the priest should help out in clearing out the refuse dump,my question to those people say all manner of junk with considering the other part of the story is WHO IS COLLECTING TAX LIKE environmental tax from the shop the shop owners in douglas and it environs?. Is it the church the priest presides or the priest?. WELL back to the topic, that refuse is the way for the governor to eXpress his displeasure on owerri people for their refusal to allow his have his way, which is to relocate that market, after the owerri people won him in court. He now result to this as if the owerri people never stood by him in his darkest hour or they never contribute to his success today. And my massage to owerri people is that if you truly want to keep your market after making your stance known is to organize yourself( as I believe you have owerri development union both home and abroad) to handle the dirt yourselves, BECOS IF YOU ARE WAITING FOR GOVERNMENT YOU GUYS MIGHT DIE OF DISEASE

Did rochas families dump refuges on the Road, was it not the people living around dumping it up to that level.
And they still feel indifferent to the stinks and odour oozing out of the refuge.

Simply mobilize your church members to clean that environment and the community will feel the love of Christ through that selfless service while your church will be better for that....
.this act look more hypocritical to me. undecided

Thank God you mentioned Anambra. But the whole of South West from Oyo to Osun to Ogun to Ondo to Ekiti to your almighty Lagos is known for dirtiness and mad people roaming the streets. Why??

Bro why you finding it very difficult to see outside the box? Why you so hung up on waiting till the govt responds? There are many things we can do ourselves if the govt fails to live up to its responsibility.
Probably many of his church members contributed to that heap of rot, regardless of this, many churches do no social work but collect so much from members.

My argument is simple: it would have been more suitable if he was pictured in his robe clearing that rubbish with his congregation than popping wine in a dump!

NIGERIA IS CELEBRATING IN THE MIDST OF TERRIBLE ROT, DECADENCE AND FILTH! THE POLITICAL CLASS ARE ALL DECKED IN FLOWING AGBADA, POPPING BOTTLES OF CHAMPAGNE TO CELEBRATE A COUNTRY THAT THEY HAVE DESTROYED WITH RECKLESS ABANDON!

Only when you see the message will you stop cursing the messenger!

Kudos Rev. Father.

Rochas has failed me on this. On the other side of it, this could be one of the reasons why he wants to relocate that market. There is no space and the busiest market should not be located at the heart of the state capital. I urge Rochas to demolition that market and relocate it. Market should be big enough to take care of waste generated and enough space for parking.
Owerri elites can't continue to stall the progress of the state in the name of protecting their ancient homes.

blame Rochas, even aba doesn't have the amount of waste owerri has currently, still you want Easterners to embrace APC.
So because the governor is APC ,the people cannot use thier common brain to maintain a clean environment on a busy and popular road as Douglas road. Shane on the Imolites.
Same thing is seen in Aba, where they even have PDP. Mtcheew

why not shut up your stinking pie hole if you have nothing meaningful to say you brat! Is any city exempted from dirtiness, what should looked into is where all the environmental levies is being channeled into, this is saddening and a big eyesore, because I once lived in owerri when my dad was transferred from Enugu and that was 2009 during ohakim tenure. Owerri was a very neat and I remember all those garbage collection trucks that carry waste products off the streets of owerri. Not to mention the street cleaners, it was cool staying in owerri then because of the neatness. Now look at what owerri have turned out to be. Gosh it's sickening and heartbreaking cry
