Okay.

I'll continue searching to see if there's any scientist who can experimentally determine whether an individual contains jealousy, and in what amount.

Thanks for your time.

You're welcome

Very well. Even my village native doctor too does. He makes rain to fall during important occasions.

Let's meet at Igbobi so you can perform your miracles smiley

Let's be honest, most people on this religious section who question evolution are being who didn't or who barely finished biology in secondary school.
Besides, even Nigerian teachers and lecturers frown at the theory of evolution. So I don't blame most Nigerians. It's the poor quality of the system.

Sure, you have the right to ask questions. But the answers are already in the public domains.
The religious section is the best place to learn everything about evolution and the theory of evolution.

Now, I said that if you are sincere, not just arguing for religious sake, grab a book on evolution and try to understand.

I've read many books on evolution, but I've not understood how a bacteria can change into a worm. Please explain to me.

Agumentun ad hominem.
Towing your line, since you happened to finish biology class conclusively, please answer my question.
Again, please suggest one biology textbook for me which you believe can answer my question and I'll gladly read.

It's childish when some folks here argue just to protect their beliefs while rejecting or ignoring verifiable facts which they don't know prior to the argument.

I have no obligations to do so.
You can start with Google, and then find a public library. This is the information age.

Atheists on the other hand, read the Bible thoroughly, in fact , much more thoroughly than Christians, before we come here to repudiate stone age myths.

Infact, reading the Bible thoroughly is the gateway to agnosticism and atheism.

Let's be honest....

You are not honest, and you know it.

You are evading facts, and then claiming to be rational.

Explain how it is that the Nobel Prize has been awarded to Peter Higgs because "the existence of the Higgs Boson has been confirmed", when the black and white evidence shows that it has not been confirmed.

What you are is a cheerleader. A lot of scientists are cheerleaders, too. Numbers of supporting cheerleaders means nothing when it comes to facts.

Sorry, that' nobody's fault but your own shortcomings.
In fact, your statements alone show that it's beyond your grasp, because you're still thinking in magical terms like , Jesus turning water into wine and 5 fishes and loaves multiplying to feed thousands. This is your problem.

I spotted about two or more logical fallacies in this post:

1. Argumentum ad hominem

2. Appeal to ridicule (Horse Laugh).

By saying "we" in your reply, you believe that you fall into the category of people I'm referring to right?

Nice! Good job.

When next we argue, if I have a verifiable fact which you didn't know a priori, I'll call your attention to it, and vice versa because I'd like to learn new stuff.
agreed?

grin You could have been included in that "we", you know...

So, you mean that for this argument, there is no verifiable fact which we didn't know? Hmm. That's a bonus to us.

I have researched thoroughly on evolution and still came to the same conclusion: animals do evolve through mutation, natural selection et al but that's not sufficient to explain the diversity of life form.

Not every information you get through Google search is factual. Anybody can put information on the internet and Google will bring it up.

Since you picked to discuss the bible, the holy book of christians, let us go there. Studying a book to understanding it is different from studying to discover loophole. Bible is a collection of different books written over a long period. The consistency is unrivaled. You can't say same of your science textbook.

You have drawn your conclusion on evolution based on your limited research.

Nice of your inquisitive mind.

But this conclusion of yours which you hold and believe in, remains your opinion and doesn't automatically stand as the ultimate truth.

It doesn't prove or disprove the evolution theory. Does it?

Fact: science is full of theories that were earlier held in high esteem in the scientific community but later repudiated. By inference, the very tool of science, science is not an end in itself. It keeps evolving and cannot be trusted to answer all my questions.

Welcome on board. With your unlimited research help me out with explanation for this and I'll not have any doubt on evolution of man: 1) explain how evolved animals appear in pairs ( male and female) 2) how the first evolved man escaped predators because he couldn't have evolved with tools.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you too. I rightly mentioned that you conducted your 'limited' research. It doesn't imply that I conducted 'unlimited' research.

So, in the light of that, I'm sorry I can't explain the issues you highlighted. I don't even know if what you have asked me to explain is correct in the first place.

But you can still react to my previous post "your opinion on evolution can't stand as 'ultimate truth' thereby proving or disproving the theory".

Do you agree with me?

You show that you , in this 21st century, are still clueless about what science is.

I find it funny how mad you guys are because you neither understand what science is or fail to grasp simple scientific ideas and norms. And then you lash out at atheists for your lack of understanding.
In a way, I only pity and don't blame most of you guys. You're a product of a bad system,. a system that doesn't encourage rational thinking. With clowns like Adeboye, Oyedepo , Mbaka etc titillating you simpletons with magic, abracadabra and smoked and mirrors, your minds have been hardwired to be aversive to scientific rationalism.

Like you said, science is not an end, but a PROCESS of discovery.
That old ideas can be discarded for new discoveries is what makes science the truly preeminent SYSTEM , the preeminent arbiter of reality.

Sorry to have burdened you with the question. I thought as a molecular biologist that you'll have the answers.

However, I've drawn a conclusion: if asked by fellow biologist you'll allude to evolution even though you don't know. I'll therefore suggest you implore your fellow biologist to assist you in imbibing evolution before you ask the respective religious ardent followers to proof God's existence.

I ain't asking anyone to provide proof of Gods existence though.

Dear, you're still committing same error: argumentum ad hominem.
Religion and science are different matters. Science has its place. Upon it discoveries, technolgy is built. But science can't answer the question of God because it's purely a religious matter. It's foolhardy that tend to use science to discredit religious views.

If you believe there's no God so be it but don't try to use science to buttress your point. Because, I'll always be here to expose you. Science cannot proof or disproof God's existence.

If because I'm a Nigerian, I'm a product of bad system. Are there no religious followers in advance countries?

In cosmology/astronomy, some of the ideas are just assumptions; some of the ideas are even conflicting ideas. Should we therefore dismiss them without further discussion? Evolution too is based on assumption. Should we therefore dismiss it too since we can't proof it? Furthermore evolution cannot even explain, the existence of animals in pairs (male and female) even by assumption.

The quote says that it may be dismissed without evidence, not that it should be or must be. Many of the great discoveries came from wild hypotheses which later had to be proved. The problem is that many theist say that their god exists and that their religion is true. I cannot disprove the existence of their god(s) but religion being divine can be easily disproved.

Evolution is absolutely not based on assumption, but on very careful and testable evidence.
