This is an update as requested. I got 50 from Amo Hatchery 4weeks ago. They are doing good, but they do tend to eat a lot. I will upload pictures when I get my phone back.

I went to amo site.didnt see anything like noilers.rather saw croilers .kindly enlighten me on how to deal,cos their website has nothing of such on noilers

Same thing I saw on their site, but when I went to their hatchery in Awe, the lady I spoke with laughed when I said I wanted to buy Croilers. Maybe their web designer made the error and they haven't been able to fix it. I am sure there are agents on this thread who deal with Noilers. But if you want to go directly to the hatchery like I did, go to their site and check for the one closest to you. Or call the number here for further information. This is how they look at 4 months.

They are capable. But you have to raise them on commercial feed till about 5-6 weeks first.

Please, don't overmedicate them with vaccines and all that. I am speaking from experience...i mean comparing my experience with someone else that overdrugged them and weakened their natural immune system.

They are naturally strong. Just vitamins and antibiotics in their first few weeks is all they need. And make sure you keep their living area clean and dry. The 3 Noilers I gave my parents since last year December are still living healthy, taking care of themselves in my parents compound.

Hey, guys, I was just on a Poultry related website when I saw Noiler Day Old chicks beings old on there. Have you ever heard of this hybrid? Anyway, this is what was said about the chicken- "Noiler is an hybrid of broiler and cockerel. It has the resistance of cockerels and some meat characteristics of broilers. It matures for meat consumption between 3 to 4 months."

I read the same thing too...but this is my experience. I guess i am lucky.

Below are eggs i have collected since monday from the ten female noilers. Their eggs are lighter in color when compared with normal layer eggs.

Wow! That's cool. But until we get a concise information as to the quantity of eggs that could be gotten from the same number of layers at the same age bracket, we cannot draw conclusions. I'm asking because I have interest in venturing into egg production. So would like to know precisely which, between the duo of layers and noilers will be more profitable.

Okay. I think you should go for brown layers then...they definitely would be more profitable when it comes to egg peoduction. They are smaller than Noilers, and i am sure they consume lower amount of feed. I just like Noilers cos they are heavier, and would command good price in the market when it is time to sell.

Definitely. One can't get it all at the same time. It's either you're gaining this and losing that or the other way round. I understand Noilers will definitely command good market price because of their weight but one cannot afford to keep them for the duration one would normally keep a layer for egg production else one would run at a loss because of their food consumption rate.

Kayo please when did ur noilers start laying. U meant u collects 10eggs every day. How many bags do they finish in a month, how much do u 1 crate

Yes, ten of them give me ten eggs every day.

They started laying around the 23rd week.

They eat quarter bag in 6 days...quarter bag is N800. In 6 days i get two crates. But i sell real cheap at N700 because of stiff competition in Ibadan. Two crates = N1400. I calculate N200 for the Vitamins and Antibiotics they take in a week...so, if i remove N200 from N1,400, i have N1,200. And if i remove N800 (price of feed) from N1,200, i have N400...which is the profit on two crates sold. Which comes down to N200 on a crate.

I feed the noilers (both male and female) starter feed from 0-7 weeks, and grower feed from then on.

I have 250 piece aged 7month, they are laying eggs for me on a daily basis! Now I am producing day old chicks as I am hatching it my self.

Noilers are very strong breed of chicken, very rugged and eat alot like broilers. I raised 51 last year with zero mortality. sold the remaining 12 this year January,they were laying every day.they also don't grow as fast as broilers

Noilers are a dual purpose multi coloured birds which are reared for both meat and egg production. They are a hybrid of broiler and cockerels and they attain maturity at 13 weeks with a weight of about 2.6kg for the males and 2.2kg for the females. The females start laying at 5months, laying about 150-200 eggs in a year. The females don't brood their eggs so if you want to hatch them you need an incubator. Noilers are the same as kuroilers or croiler. They were first bred in India by kerb farms, so they named them kuroiler derived from kerbb and broiler. So a Nigerian hatchery decided to also embark on the same project under the name croilers. But after the success of the research they change the name to Noilers.


They re not heavy eaters like broilers. The good thing about them is that they have the meat characteristics of broilers and the ruggedness of cockerels, plus they grow very fast and they are scavengers (They can be left to free range) They eat whatever you feed them and they still do well.


Actually the broilers and noilers are not comparable as such since broilers attain 2kg in 7-8wks, where as noilers Attain 2.6 kg in 13-16wks depending on how well they're fed. At 7wks the noilers are as big as 7wks broilers only that the broilers are heavier. Another thing is that any bird kept for meat production is termed "Broiler" so the noilers are a tougher and more rugged broilers so to speak but not as fast in growth as the fast growing broilers but faster in growth than the white cockerels.
The noilers or kuroiler or croiler initiative was carried out in other to assist those in rural areas to earn a living, especially those in poverty, it was first carried out and sponsored by bill gates in India under kerbb farms, in other to produce a fast growing and resistant variety of bird that will survive under harsh conditions and yet do as good as a commercial broiler with a little effort in terms of feeding and being taken care of.
The ugandans and Kenyans have been rearing them for quite some times now, their government shipped them from India. You can research online with the term croiler or kuroiler. Even though the dont grow as fast the commercial broiler atleast the are better than cockerels.
