Thanks dear. We thank God for his continued goodness. I just gave birth to my son last two weeks, and i'm glad we both made it alive in good condition. That journey is not an easy one I swear! But the cry of the baby settles it all. Thank You Jesus

Funny enough, i have never raised my hand on a woman before. All i am saying is that the pains of giving birth is so overhyped. I know a few ladies who on the onset of their first pregnancies were scared to death but after they gave birth, they said it wasn't that tedious as they initially thought. Besides modern medicine has provided a way whereby the procedure is painless. Google "Painless Epidural" and get enlightened.

Some comments here are so saddening cry cry
Someone even compared human childbirth with that of animals. Like seriously?
Men actually contribute to this high rate of death during childbirth
naijaboiy:
You don't have to bother much bro! Obviously they were given birth to by those goats and dogs that's why their reasoning is so lopsided.
delishpot:
You have not seen goats and dogs die from child birth? Who is raising these men of this generation?
Mothers, see una hand work O. Growing up to bite your daughters in the arse. Una Don try.
A man goes to the office to work he expects his wife to lick his arse and worship the floor he walks on because he pays the bills. she must not compare him to other men who better themselves for bigger options in future, who are making wise and smart decisions impacting positively in the lives of his family. She must appreciate him with all his faults.

A woman stakes a her life to bring a new life into a mans family, she is compared to dogs and goats, told how she is a nuisance for stating how hard it was for her to bring the child into the world. And her effort looked at as nothing.

So you're comparing your fellow female humans to animals? Because you are not educated that's why you're saying this rubbish undecided
daisyella:
For Christ sake, people have died from childbirth and even though not all women go through the same level of pain, some women have actually described it as a near death experience. It's enough that u want to underrate the pain of childbirth but comparing it to that of animals is very laughable. If you don't know about a topic, its better you don't bring it up. Let me inform you that animals have it easier to give birth because of the shape of their pelvis unlike that of humans. the animal pelvis are better built for giving birth while a human's pelvis are narrower because we are built for walking upright, making the birth canal smaller. The other thing is that the baby animals are much smaller (proportionally) than a human baby, so it hurts less to push one out.

See attacks o! You people should stop all these blubbering!! I didn't make that comment to demean women in anyway because after all, i was also born from a woman. What i am saying that feminism has warped the minds of most women which they try to use in blackmailing we men. I AM A STRONG ANTI-FEMINIST. My analogy is simple: Labor pains albeit very tedious in the past is no longer scary and painful as many people think or say it is. You all attacking me here should try to do a lot of research before making assertions...And for the person that said he/she wishes that labor should be rotated and shared between men and women, i concur and it it becomes possible, I WILL GLADLY GO TO THE LABOR ROOM AND GIVE BIRTH...YOU KNOW WHY? Google the phrase "Epidural Anesthesia" and get enlightened!
It was just like getting a tooth extracted in the past which was usually scary and painful but now, you can go to the dentist and extract 6 teeth from your denture and still come out smiling! I just don't talk because i want to talk. Thanks!

If we check now, na man dey sponsor you! Na you suppose swerve inside gutter! Menstrual cramps my hairy a*se! I won't make this an argument of who experiences the most pain because you're obviously not worth that effort. I don't need to tell you what i've gone through because that would be a total waste of my time, my unreserved condolences goes to the woman who ends up with you cool
Re: Why Some Nigerian Women Die At Child Birth by delishpot: 1:28pm On Oct 05, 2016
Epidural is not used in every hospital. It requires the service of specialy trained medical personnel to administer it and it is not given just anyhow. Not all hospitals can boast of it's availability as an option in their services.
Depending on the stage a woman's labour has gotten, she may be denied epidural. Plus not all women qualify for it health wise.
So Abeg, go back and research. When you find new thing come back to is to discuss it.
Its just like saying because you can get some injection to numb pain during bone setting, it means the patient should not complain of pain. Or because you can be given anaesthetic during a surgery, it means the body would not feel the pain after the meds wear off.
Child birth goes beyond the contractions a woman feels. After a tooth extraction, you can be pumped full of meds to help with pain relief but a mother is not given so much mmeds for pain cos she has a baby to breast feed and care for. A new mom is limited in what she can or can not do.

Thigh cramps experienced by men who drive for a living with manual gears.
The type that shuttle from PH to abj on a daily basis just to feed the woman going through menstrual cramps, give me a break!

If they think Menstruation is painful, they should try barrow pushing under Maiduguri sun for a living.

Na wah o, can you afford to pay $1000 or more just for the epidural for your wife in Nigeria?

That's minus the cost of the delivery itself.

That's a major reason epidural isn't explored in our society, because only a few men can afford that. We all know the state of health insurance in Nigeria, which won't even cover such services and it's definitely not affordable in govt hospitals.

I hear UCH, Ibadan used to offer the services for extra 300K sometime back, but that's not confirmed by me. Hope someone who'd worked in their 0&G unit can refute or confirm this
I wonder though, why you're purposely down playing the pain some women get during labour. It's your type that usually faints when having a blood test, for fear of the needle.

Should we also talk of the pain that accompanies episiotomy I.e deliberately giving the woman a cut with a pair of scissors in the vagina to make the passage way for the baby roomier? That's also given with no form of Anaesthesia in Nigeria.

first,I am not "anti-female",whatever that means. and i couldn't care less about trying to sound annoying.

People die during childbirth, this I have experienced firsthand. so do not assume to know my whole life's story.
Won't stop Me from repeating what I said: We appreciate you ladies for the pains you go through, but I'm not worshipping the ground you walk on because you gave birth to a child. If guys were the ones with the womb, there wouldn't be this much noise when it comes to childbirth.

So frankly, I don't care if you're disappointed or not.

Epidural is used for women that wants to get operated on, not for natural birth. Natural birth is hell and its very different from painless epidural

I have a story to tell.

In the case of bleeding after birth my neighbour expeirienced it and the worst part was that, when labour kicked in her husband, will I call it stupidity, foolishness or what?!
He rushed her to White Garment Church to deliver and after a successful delivering of her child bleeding kicks in and the so called doctor ran out of experience. Their inability to control the pressure of the bleeding led to her untimely death awarding the man an eminence title as a WIDOWER and the children..? MOTHERLESS!
This is the end of my story.

The point is, LIVE IS TOO PRECIOUS TO BE WASTED IN A CHURCH WHICH IS NEVER AN HOSPITAL...
Lost my wife's elder sister this morning to bleeding after delivery after she had successfully birth a very pretty baby girl around 2am.

The four kids she has in total now are motherless, so painful. If anyone wants to even lose a parent, not a mother Biko! Feeling for those kids, my wife is now breastfeeding d newborn cos she too just put to bed three months back after battling pre-eclampsia. Women must be respected, childbirth is not easy at all...

Someone mentioned BAD HUSBAND In page two above, very correct dear!

Nobody should ever take such advise, it's very risky. I lost my sister in 2016 to this same act. The husband who has never written jamb before let alone being a graduate of medicine made attempt to birth his wife in labor right in thier house. Ofcourse u know what happened. The wife bled to death after d baby was pushed out while he manage to cut d umbilical cord and saved d child. We almost buried him with her during her burial. The pains was just unbearable, such a preventable death! It's not like there's was no money to go to hospital, dude is quite rich, we later learnt he belonged to the popular ogboni confraternity. Little wonder! That was her second childbirth o, not first.

Okay, just last night January 17th, my elder brother's wife lost her son during childbirth, she almost started bleeding too but was quickly manage. Her water broke around 5pm, she labored since 1pm precious day till 12 midnight today d baby died on arrival. Although I blame the hospital here cos no ventilator, Nigeria!
