I grew up in Benin so I knew this lady way back in the 90s, her father had a motel or beer parlor if you call it, there was this big mechanic workshop near the beer parlor where this lady actually started learning, it was like a child's play but look at what passion has brought this lady be it fame, wealth and so on.

Lesson: never despise the days of humble beginnings, even me myself never knew this is how far this lady will go. Am sure she is surely the biggest start her family has produced among her many siblings. God bless you Sandra, I am humbled.

OP she is definitely not the 1st female mechanic in Nigeria but one of the first to pay her dues. I used to know a female mechanic in Wukari Taraba state (then Gongola state) in the 1980's.
I wonder o. There's even a celebrated female mechanical engineer that was frsc boss at one time

We learn everyday. Please post evidence of the Iyagba mechanic that you knew from the 1950s. grin grin cheesy cool

We all say Mrs Ransome-Kuti was Nigeria's first female driver because we have no other evidence otherwise. It does not mean that some black lady married to a white person back in the 1930s or even earlier in 9ja would not have driven along country roads or around the compound unseen/undocumented by the media.

There are unemployed youths playing draft in cities around the country. Just because GRA or Sapele Road boys do theirs within the house/fenced compounds or are likely more privileged does not mean they are more industrious. I know both areas well since decades.

You face same challenge looking for guys to do manual job for you in both areas. Everybody feels too sexy to do it, while depending on Bank of Daddy/Mummy and relatives abroad. They think after having a degree they are beyond manual work. You're not above any job until you get your dream job.shocked shocked
