Great then ..Now Ameachi should have gone further to tell us the beautiful and worthwhile things he did with his share of the ECA after it was disbursed to them ..If he can't then he has just admitted what some pundits have said all along that both the governors and the FG played and equal role in the squandering g of our national wealth

What about the monument rail way project, now that was an investment. grin

Don't mind him oh! He is powered by Aisha Halliburton rice and salad.
That is why he is so much energised and does not feel the recession his illiterate idol, Buhari has inflicted on his fellow citizens.

Hmmmm.

Some people need to look at themselves in the mirror and ask, "God, what am I?"

First and foremost, I believe this ECA money is earmarked for certain specific purpose(s). Embezzling it alone signifies an abnormal act/human being, as it's a collective fund.

2nd this man's statement is like what a nagging child would say in a playground as toys are hoarded by the bully amongst them.
To think of it being mentioned in this context is unimaginable (sorry, but I hold myself to high standards in life). I simply cannot comprehend the reasoning among so called leaders that can lead to this laughable situation.

It's simply daylight robbery without guns, basically.

Oh well... Hmmmm

To call a spade a spade our leaders are not ready for governance . GEJ wasted oil reserve in his time and yet wanted the wastage to continue.. though those who benefited from the financial carnage are not ready to admit it is pitiful to discover that our present leader too seems not to have a full grasp of our economic outlook. solving the myriads of problems hasn't been easy for him..No economic blue print to tackle the present recession..bye & large his tenure is going small small..May God raise up the needed leader that will take us out if the wood to our desired state of development .

I thought you will say that the project had been completed and it has generated over N250B revenue to the government. Come to think of it the distance from Lagos buss top to Isaac Boro Park is less than from Fadayi to Anthony bus stop a treckable distance how much will it generates to the government in terms of revenue

Stop being an illiterate and read with ur brain. Did u see the word each in what u qouted? Why didn't u incorporate that in ur reasoning?
Again I say, none of the governors received above 3% of the total sum. When u add up all governors, it's roughly 47 to 48percent of total sum for all 36 states and FCT. Jonah-daft took the rest.

Once the article is against GEJ you will resurface from nowhere. Ask Amaechi what he used the money he got for. Instead of developing Rivers with the money he gave all to Buhari campaign....

No I think we should ask what gej did with his own share cos that one concern the whole Nigeria. What Amaechi did with his own should be the concern of rivers state ppl...

It is a pity that some APC traducers have misquoted and misinterpreted that statement by Okonjo-Iweala to “Jonathan lacked the political will to save” instead of government(governors) lacked the political will to save under Jonathan's administration, all just to paint Jonathan as a failure and poison the mind of Nigerians against him.

Now that Jonathan's govt have been vindicated by giving accounts of how its share was used the pertinent and rational questions now are,

• What did those governors(especially those plaintiffs that moved the motion and compelled FG to share the funds like Amaechi, Oshiomhole, Fashola) do with the astronomical share of the ECA that were disbursed to them?

• How much is currently in our Excess Crude Account considering that oil price has been undulating between $45 to $50 per barrel and the benchmark at $38?

*How long has Oil price hit $45 since this administration came to power? probably just one month. So, how do you use a value of only one month, to compare with an effect of over one year? If this price remains so with considerable time, then we can judge the Govt based on that price.
You should also factor-in that our production has been considerably reduced due to act of sabotage by the vandals in the S/South and surrounding areas thus, the net income may not be better than when it was actually $28/Barrel

*I agree with you, the Governors, like the LGA Chairs are a bunch of rogues, no different form the GEJ they accuse! They looted the money as well.

But there is a Cliche which says: When the HEAD is ROTTEN, the whole BODY will also be ROTTEN!
Jonathan was the HEAD of Government..... he was very, very rotten in a corrupt way.
His BODY, the Governors and LGA Chairs only took a cue form him and looted away their own share
.

I mean, when you see the head of a family using Drugs, how can he control his children not to be drug addicts?

Now, the HEAD of the current Govt (Buhari) is not rotten (at least until we can nail him), EFFC is not so rotten (at least until we can see otherwise), some Judges are beginning to regain their conscience (while the Crooks are been sacked and held responsible by the Nig. Judicial Council NJC) .... and it is as expected, you wont hear any Governor clamouring for "let us share the booty" as was the National anthem under that Kleptomaniac called GEJ.

So, as the Head is, so will be the Body.
Its that simple.

U thought...... Very lame talk......Governance is a continuum and leaving uncompleted projects isn't an offence. Why didn't u stone ur hero Jonah-daft for leaving second niger bridge uncompleted?
Again, the project is in phases, I mentioned that earlier but ur hatred won't allow u to learn something new. Continue to wallow in ur ignorance.

How come fuel was 65 naira under yaradua and eca is not depleting but increasing?

Plus, didn't they put fuel subsidy in the budget?

Maybe you have the answer to why fuel was cheaper during Abacha's time and you may also think budget is some kind of money kept somewhere.

During Goodluck Jonathan, every month when the governors went for the economic council meeting, the amount in the account kept dropping. If we asked about what happened to the money, the response we got was that the president approved for it to be spent.

Jonathan ordered me to withdraw $2bn from ECA to pay fuel subsidy – Okonjo-Iweala

Dr. Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, Nigeria’s former minister of finance said on Tuesday night that the $2 billion she was alleged to have withdrawn from Excess Crude Account without authorisation was used to pay for fuel subsidy on the instruction of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

She however said the issue was discussed at the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC), a statutory body which is chaired by the Minister of State for Finance in which all the states are represented.

The former Minister however said FAAC did not approve the withdrawal.
It will be recalled that Nigerian state governors had after the inauguration of the National Economic Council about two weeks ago accused Okonjo-Iweala of spending $2 billion from the ECA, a pool of funds which belonged to the three tiers of government.

http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/07/08/jonathan-ordered-me-to-withdraw-2bn-from-eca-to-pay-fuel-subsidy-okonjo-iweala/

The question is was there no arrangement for subsidy in the budget? Why should money from the ECA be used to pay subsidy. There was surely oil benchmark for the budget..
