Someone Please Explain Deuteronomy 14:23-26 by lonecat: 11:41am On Oct 09, 2016 |
please I need a clearer explanation to this bible verse Deuteronomy 14:23-26 but my very concern is :26 26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household (KJV) does it actually mean we can drink alcohol in the house if God? 1 Like |

lonecat: Strong drink actually mean something like spirit/wine with strong alcoholic content. Strong drink by itself is not a sin, but drunkenness is a sin.
Jesus was accused of mixing with sinners: Luk 7:34 Holy communion used to contain some wine 1Co 11:21 But the defacto standard for Christians is: Rom 14:21 It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. View more As much as possible, alcoholic or not alcoholic a christian must NOT be controlled by what he drinks. I will rather NOT drink than allow a weak brother not having my self control go into the sin of drunkenness Now, back to you OP, is this your question for the sake of a justifying reason to drink alcohol? God knows your motive: it is certainly not that which goes into the stomach that pollutes the body; it is that which comes out. What is coming out of your heart, mouth and actions.... Hope your question is answered! |
Re: Someone Please Explain Deuteronomy 14:23-26 by lonecat: 12:54pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
shadeyinka:nothing to justify because I don't have a reason not to drink alcohol since the bible didn't specifically say I shouldn't (at least from your explanation; I just don't have to get drunk). I only wanted to know if it's ok to drink in the house of God |
Re: Someone Please Explain Deuteronomy 14:23-26 by shadeyinka(m): 3:54pm On Oct 09, 2016 |
lonecat: Like I said, what comes out of you is what defines you before God: your heart! God knows if your heart is truely for Him or Not and with that, whatever our reasons are is transparent before Him. If alcohol will make my weaker brother to go to hell, I will never touch it. This should be the attitude for everyone who claim they love God for weaker brother exist in large numbers. |

SHALOM! There was no HOUSE OF GOD, until about 600 years later. In those days, The Spirit of God was hovering over them in a Pillar of Cloud by day, and a Pillar of Fire by Night, you had the Amalekites, the Hittites, the Shootites, and the Otherites showing up to kill anyone they could- just for fun-! Seems to me you TOTALLY NEEDED "Strong Drink" in those days! These COCA-COLA KUMUYI types would never have lasted in those days- what with all that their LACTIC ACID Muscles, and CHOLESTEROL TUMMY! |

ifenes: Of course, I am more than convinced that God exists. He gave us different forms of life codes (laws) to guide us Moral Laws Spiritual Laws Health Laws How does Tue life of a drunk affect others: 1. The average drunk is irresponsible towards his family 2. His addiction to alcohol drives his moral values 3. He is not respected by his children 4. He adds nothing of value to the life of his children by being alcoholic 4. He drives he kills: dangerous on the road 5. He cannot be trusted to lead other people: do you mind having a President who is a drunk He is a shame to have as a friend, uncle, brother, in-law, husband, friend.. 1 Like |

SHALOM! shadeyinka: CHANGING THE BIBLE DEFINITION OF SIN OPENS the door to the invention of Sins that do not exist- which is an Oyinbo Tactic of Religious Mind Control. .. 1st JOHN 3:4-17. 4. Whosoever committeth Sin Transgresseth also The Law: for Sin is The Transgression of The Law. 5And ye know that he was manifested to take away our Sins; and in him is no Sin. 6. Whosoever abideth in him Sinneth not: whosoever Sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7.Little Children, let no man deceive you: "HE THAT DOETH RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, EVEN AS HE IS RIGHTEOUS." 8. He that committeth Sin is ofTthe Devil; for The Devil Sinneth From The Beginning. For this Purpose The Son of God was manifested, "THAT HE MIGHT DESTROY THE WORKS OF THE DEVIL." 9. Whosoever is Born of God doth not Commit Sin; for His Seed remaineth in him: and he cannot Sin, because he is Born of God. 10. In this The Children of God are manifest, and The Children of The Devil: "WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, NEITHER HE THAT LOVETH NOT HIS BROTHER." 11. For this is The Message that ye heard From The Beginning, "THAT WE SHOULD LOVE ONE ANOTHER." 12. Not as Cain, who was of That Wicked One, and slew his Brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own Works were Evil, and his Brother's Righteous. 13. Marvel not, my Brethren, if the World hate you. 14. We know that we have Passed from Death unto Life, because we love the Brethren. He that loveth not his Brother abideth in Death. 15. Whosoever hateth his Brother is a Murderer: and ye know that no Murderer hath EternalLlife abiding in him. 16. Hereby perceive we The Love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the Brethren. 17. But whoso hath this World's Good, and seeth his Brother have Need, and shutteth up his Bowels of Compassion from him, how dwelleth The Love of God in him? OBFUSCATION OF THE DEFINITION OF SIN IS CONSISTENT WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF YAHSHUA, THE LORD AND SAVIOUR OF THE CHURCH, WITH PAUL- A MERE SELF-EXALTING FAILED SERVANT OF GOD, AND UNJUST STEWARD OF YAHSHUA. Such must also lie about the definition of the term "LOVE." .. 1st JOHN 5:1-5. WHOSOEVER believeth that "JESUS IS THE CHRIST" is Born of God: and every one that loveth Him that Begat loveth him also that is Begotten of Him. 2. By this we know that we love The Children of God, "WHEN WE LOVE GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS." 3. For this is The Love of God, "THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS:" and His Commandments are not grievous. 4. For whatsoever is Born of God Overcometh the World: and this is The Victory that Overcometh the World, "(EVEN) OUR FAITH." 5. Who is he that Overcometh the World, but he that believeth that Jesus is The Son of God? PAUL HID THE FACT THE THE ONLY WAY TO AGREE WITH GOD IS TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. PAUL HID THE FACT THAT THE ONLY WAY TO LOVE GOD IS TO KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. PAUL HID THE FACT THAT GOD CAN NEVER DISAPPROVE OF SOMEONE KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS. Aren't you hiding those facts every day, yourself? MEDITATING ON THE COMMANDMENTS OF GOD enables the CHILD OF GOD to access THE ETERNITY POINT, where God Spoke that Commandment into being. When that is achieved, TIME ON EARTH STOPS, as one receives GOD'S IMPRINT OF TOTAL UNDERSTANDING. When Time RESTARTS, such have POWER OVER EVERYTHING that was STOPPED during their Access of ETERNITY TIME. This is the most important thing, to the Oyinbos, to HIDE from their CHRISTIAN COLONIAL VICTIMS- because, if they knew it, ALL of their STRATEGIES and WEAPONS would be rendered USELESS, overnight! |

oaroloye: I am so sorry you misunderstood me. I think we say the same thing about SIN. The only difference is that I used the shortest definition to reach the unsaved and you use a more detailed explanation. Christians should not quarrel over simple doctrinal issues when reaching out to non Christians. Shalom |

shadeyinka: What laws did this god give you concerning Rape and Slavery? Or treating women as objects, picking up sticks on a Saturday,Genocide and Killing someone for having different views to you How does Tue life of a drunk affect others: The above you listed are not a crime. Yes it is advisable not to drink and drive, what about noise pollution created by churches with high bass loud speakers.....are there laws from your god concerning disturbing others with noise etc.... A man drinks and is responsible for the outcome of what he does after drinking not because it displeases a god. In fact a god should be the last reason not to drink. 4 Likes |

ifenes: Love you Neigbour as Yourself! ifenes: Not all laws are given because it harms the society. Example: Nudity, There are laws against Noise Pollution. Drinking is NOT actually the sin, Drunkenness is the Sin. ..but, my honest view: Theists and Atheists can discuss without a display of hatred and animosity. We could be brothers from the same parent you know. I believe that a person arrives at the position of atheism because of some observable facts he has seen. So also a Theist. Why must they hate each other for understanding life differently. Except you really believe that God exists, you have no reason to hate Him that much! |

Not all laws are given because it harms the society. show me There are laws against Noise Pollution.show me Drinking is NOT actually the sin, Drunkenness is the Sin. what makes being drunk a crime? ..but, my honest view: No doubt we are I believe that a person arrives at the position of atheism because of some observable facts he has seen. So also a Theist. Why must they hate each other for understanding life differently. We read the same bible and understand it differently. You say god of the bible and I say extraterrestrials who came to earth to mine gold and tinkle the human DNA. You see them as gods to worship,I see them partly as positive and negative advanced extra dimensional humanoids. I think I got my understanding from being a detective who studied the bible, noticed that other civilizations wrote about the same story. Except you really believe that God exists, you have no reason to hate Him that much! The only God I see exist is me,not the bible god. I don't hate him because there is no Him,but many advance humans as described by your bible. 4 Likes |

shadeyinka: I love others and often help them than I help myself. I'm usually busy sorting other people's problems before remembering mine...why? Because it's a natural instinct of humans to be kind. So why do you think it has to be a law before being nice? So I say again, loving others has nothing to do with laws. I didn't say drunk , I said drunkenness or a drunkard if you want to make it a noun Whichever one,it doesn't matter. Some people are better off drunk trust me....but still,it shouldn't be a crime but if people get drunk,it's usually due to frustrations and they need help not judgment. But you act like we are long lost enemies! Trust me we ain't. I have no reason to see a fellow brother as an enemy(that includes all Christians and Muslims on this forum) OK! I am just getting to understand your views. Like the Anunakis and co..? That is exactly what the bible gods are. It may be hard to accept, but read the bible from Genesis again, you will see that what I'm saying is true. OK! Your Executive Majesty! My mind is my temple. I guess you should createba thread to discuss your views. I actually thought that you were a Gnostic Atheist. I don't have a definition,I am only a seeker of truth. 4 Likes |

SHALOM! lonecat: IF THAT IS WHAT YOUR SOUL LUSTS AFTER IN THE HOUSE OF GOD, WHAT SORT OF WORSHIPPER OF GOD DOES THAT MAKE YOU? The Scripture is not talking about CHURCH, but Christians need to find ways to fulfill this Commandment in our own time. There are more important things to be done, which ahould be your priority before this. |
