Coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that 11 points from the ‘Group of Death’ will qualify Nigeria to a sixth World Cup final. On Sunday, the Super Eagles won three valuable points on the road in Zambia and welcome Algeria to Uyo next month. They lead their qualifying group after Algeria were forced to a 1-1 draw by Cameroon in Blida. “I think we need 11 points to be first of the group, but all the teams have a good chance to qualify (for the World Cup),” the experienced Rohr said at a press briefing. “We all know that it is very difficult to win a game in the qualifiers especially away in the first game. I don't think 11 point can guarantee a world cup ticket, what if any team in group wins all their remaining matches? I think a minimum of 13 point is good to go. 10 Likes |

I think we need 13 point to qualify. All we need is to win all our home game and draw one away game. Because if any team in our group win 4 out of remaining 5 game it will be difficult for us to qualify. This present Eagles have some splashing semblance of great things to come and I believe in them to take us to Russia in 2018 I'm just bothered about their lack of friendlies in recent times.. For them to improve and blend-bond together, they need to play more games together to understand themselves and do better because there's always room for improvement in all we do We really need to take this qualifiers one game at a time.. It's too early for us to start pressing calculators like the days of old and our qualifications depending on other people's win or loss or draw.. Oga, with my in-depth knowledge of Mathematics and with experience of past World Cup and Nations Cup Qualifiers, I've been carrying out some permutations on Nigeria's chances in qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, I've come to the conclusion that 14pts will be enough to see us through to the FIFA Mundial. 11pts isn't enough Mr Rohr... 11 Points may not be enough. He should target to win the three home matches and also pick at least 2 more away points. 14 points will guarantee qualification Each team still has 5 games to play and each team can get 12 points by winning 4 games 2 Likes |

jerrythafinisher:Sorry bro. But your analysis is not correct, for any team to have 11 points no other would have won all her matches. This is simple. There are six matches in all, for 11 points, a team will have to win 3 games and 2 draws. That is a loss . Since the so call " all wins" must also beat the "11 points" team twice i.e home and away , it is therefore practically impossible for another team have all win in a group with 11 point team.
