I have an older friend who suffered this fate in the US. A once wealthy professor was reduced to nothing by a wife he married and brought to the US. House gone, cars, and he still has to be paying child support and the woman still had the kids turned against him because it's very easy for a mother to turn the kids against their father. Thank God the man didn't take the death route, instead he left the US for them and returned to Nigeria.

Whoever supports what some of these women become over there needs a cross examination.

just recently my mum told me about our church girl,she just came back from rural Cameron to stay with one of our church brothers,very dirty,illiterate poor girl this family brushed up.unfortunately one of our deacons son fell in luv with this girl to the point of marrying her.just 3 mths later his papers arrived and he travelled abroad,his family was just managing and rily looked up to this guy.he later came back to take this girl abroad,put her in school she is about graduating as a nurse this year but the news came that she is threatening the guy with divorce if he doesn't allow her mother to come and live with them.
the guys parents are late now and the church board tried to settle the issue and the girl opened her mouth to insult the same church that helped to cater for her welfare while in Nigeria.
As it stands my guy is putting up with this girl just because of the 2 boys and the idea of starting all over again and yes mama is now living there.life can be cruel at times.

I don't know why a sane adult will think it's his duty to control another living, breathing and functioning adult because he is the husband. I was very hard on a nlder that was claiming he's going to Nigeria to get a wife to bring back with him to the UK for this very reason. These men live in cities with a lot of eligible Nigerian single women but choose to go to Nigeria to import village girls so they can isolate them from their family and friends and control them. Unfortunately for them, the girls eyes will open and then they will resort to killing them as a means of final control. They would rather have a dead wife than a wife that comes and goes as she pleases. That money is just a catalyst to the whole problem.
Its a break down fo values and traditions, which they both WILLINGLY subscribed to, at the onset of the marriage, which the man invested-in heavily but the woman chose to abuse (because she is now loaded with money).

Taking advantage of the US laws and stripping the man of all his belongings, event those he has acquired through hard work, decades before coming into contact with the wife, is another insult to his injuries.

The vast majority of home- based Nigerian men aspire to marry Nigerian women. They already made that decision long long before they were opportuned to go abroad.That has always been their dream.

Also, vast majority of home based Nigerian men, see it as a normal thing to improve the lot of their families by educating their children and , if neccessary, thier wives.Its a mindset.

In addition,their is a particular way,families who live in Nigeria operate.
