Tnks. could you help me understand one of the List of exemptions for biometrics for nigerians i got from their website which says "In Canada as a student or worker and eligible to apply for a temporary resident visa to study or to work"

Mikymiko:
Once you are Nigerian using a Nigerian passport. Biometrics is highly needed.

I advice you have to rethink. My concern is that we must be cautious. Some have used the so called agents in the past who ended up misrepresenting them with fishy SOA. I say it again that we all must be cautious. The best form of application you will have is self application and self representation. That's why I say be cautious in all your dealings because any information you submit through any agent or any intermediary is considered to have originated/emanated from the Applicant and applicant must be answerable. Be wise. Those criticizing my post should at least pause and reflect for a while. Sometime in the past, someone's SOA was seen as fake by the Immi and the applicant attributed such misrepresentation to the use of agent. Be wise. I've actually gained a lot of knowledge from this thread which I like to continue sharing it with members. This is not the first time I have been criticized by some members, the first criticism came as a response to my opposition of a mail written to Immigration Minister by an Applicant accusing that CIC is biased when reviewing PGC/PGD application as Masters and Phd applicant receives fair review. With the way this criticisms are coming up, I may decide to take a bold decision which I had never wished for. I pray God helps us all to understand and see the reason why VO are actually skeptical about applications coming from Nigeria. Be your brothers keeper as there is nothing to hide. Let's help ourselves and God will help us. Thank you.

What's unique about studying in UofS and UOfM?

Why are there many Nigerians going to Saskatchewan and Manitoba?
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by expertman(m): 3:05pm On Oct 14, 2016
You are to use interbank rate not parallel rate.

Official bank rate you are to use.

Enjoy

My CGPA in the last two years of full time study is 3.65 out of 5.0 and I studied telecommunication engineering. I would love to do a course based masters degree in wireless communications or network security.
If u want to do a Masters program in University of Manitoba, then u must start your application immediately, as the deadline for admission should be around 30th November.
Your CGPA is Quite Okay.
Check whether the have this Course which u want to do.

You can also check out *University of Western Ontario Institute of Technology*

I believe its because they are way cheaper than almost every other school when it comes to Masters? And it doesn't take away from the level of academic excellence they also portray.

I may be wrong, apart from that its every mans choice tho. Lol

The truth is it depends on your bank o, but id advise you check out abokifx.com, they are usually on the right path.

NB: pls I'm not a marketer for the website, but it has helped me a whole lot, also try and gauge using the most expensive quote for any currency u r searching for.

Hope it helps

I agree with you that they are both cheap but UBC is cheaper than U OF M.

I guess there maybe other reasons.

lets consider these things too

UBC is relatively "harder" to get into, it is top notch
As for saska, everyone is accommodated regardless of whether you are an einstein kind of guy or you are a lil kesh kind of goon.

That UBC is cheaper, i don't know about other courses, but for law, its not their fees are about 3-4k dolls apart. And UBC is one of the top 3 unis in Canada, and they are very strict with the 2:1 request unlike other schools that will consider your last 2 years despite your 2:2, I'm not sure UBC does same, at least according to my brother who's a masters student there currently.

I may be wrong though.

Pls do not quote me out of context I said they will consider if your last 2 years made good sense.
1. U of Manitoba
2. U of Saskatchewan
3. U of Ottawa.

Those three I'm sure of at least info was from some persons who are already in these schools.

Your excuse and explanation is incoherent and doesn't make any sense. You had a back up plan that you didn't inform him about but stringed him along.
What stopped you from using the phone of the person who came to pick you? or what stopped you from using the airport's wifi to update him of development before leaving the airport?
You probably think it is easy to pick someone from the airport leaving other personal schedules?

One principle to live by "Do unto others as you would like to be done to".

I have observed there are too many selfish and inconsiderate people on this thread. Prior to getting their visa, they are always active asking questions etc.. but as soon as they get what they want, they disappeared. Only resurface when in need of something like asking who is coming from Nigeria.

I understand that some could be busy but I don't see how busy you will be that you can't offer assistance once in a while. But not busy when in need of something.

I understand that one must look after himself but when looking after oneself will affect another party, every action must be considered not to cause the other party any harm.

What is done is done, I can only advice you to act wisely for your own sake as this kind of behaviour can block great benefits from you in the future.

some1 experience on Australian thread and similar experience complained of here too.can fellows more especially on this Nairaland study threads stop being self-centered. The thousands and millions you would have paid an agent to facilitate the whole process, you get responses and those aids here for free. And when you get ur visas, attitudes changes.
Any selfish persons here should just go passive and be assimilating suggestions.don't put on regrets to a willful mind and block good lucks for others

Bro, it is Low.
Canadian universities mostly requires a second class upper for admission. Or occasionally a very high CGPA in your last two years of full time study or last 60 units of study..
My cousin had a second class lower 3.31 but his last two years of full time study was 4.62 on a 5.0 scale, he got an admission in University of Alberta (which is among the most Competitive Universities in the world and Canada in terms of getting an admission).

I would have advised you to do a Pgd, but from what I am reading on this thread recently, it seems like getting a TRV for a Pgd is becoming more strict.

But that doesn't still matter, you can definitely get a TRV(study permit) for your Pgd, many have still gotten, ur case could be successful.
Canadian Embassy hasn't issued a statement or policy banning TRV for Pgd programs undecided

Or you could try Germany, Ireland, Australia....
What course did you study in ur Baccalaureate degree nd what course are u hoping to do for Masters
