I cannot fall victim in this case, but if God permits it, I will beg my landlord and not stay for 2years pending a court case.

The victim was evil and devilish and was hoping to usurp the law's loopholes. 2years ? 24 months?

Come on bro..as evil minded as you, would you do this? Use your head.24months of arguing with landlord? Did he not pay children's school fees or fuel his car? Did he not buy new phone? Did he not drink beer or wine for 24 months?
Do you even know how much a property lawyer costs to hire?

If it were a hotel , will he even try to default one day?

A Wuse Zone 2 Chief Magistrates’ Court, Abuja, on Tuesday ordered one Baba Garba to pay N900,000 rent arrears to Larix Properties Limited.

The Senior Magistrate, Teribo Jim, gave the order after listening to the submissions of Hadiza Zarma, counsel to Larix Properties.

Zarma had told the court that since the beginning of the tenancy year of May, 2014 till date, the defendant had not been paid his annual rent of N450, 000.


She informed the court that the claim before the court was for payment of arrears of rent for the tenancy year of May, 2014 to June 2016.

When asked whether he was liable to the claims or not, Garba admitted the claims as presented.

“I am not denying, but I lost my job and have no money to pay my rent” he said

The magistrate delivered judgment in favour of Larix Properties Ltd.

“Having admitted the claims, I hereby enter judgment in favour of the plaintiff.

“The defendant shall pay N900, 000 as arrears of rent to the plaintiff for the period mentioned,’’ the court ruled.
