It's not really good discrediting what u have not tried
In this biz we learn from experience and not critize what we have not tried but what we just think is bad

The grower feed will slow their growth and reduce their weight so if I where u I will maintain my finisher for best results if u think the birds are too big reduce their feed but u will need to double it later and support with vitamins
Are you saying I should switch back to giving them super starter sir? Or you mean i should start giving them finisher from now on bearing in mind they're still going to December. I await your response sir.

What could this mean, I had coccidiosis outbreak that resulted to death of one of my birds.. Used prococ and dogzegen for the coccidiosis for three days, this is what their poops looks like this morning after feeding.. What does this suggest. it has not been easyoo on this my trial farm...

It's not 100% clear from their system so will need to repeat the treatment or u can ask ur vet for Est mix if u get it use for 3 days but if u can't get it, use ur Provo and dogzygen for another 3 days

Is it poor to feed 98 broilers a bag of feed in three days, they are 6weeks and three days.. Or, are they over fed..
Re: Xmas Broiler Broading In Pictures by kingjonez: 12:31pm On Oct 22, 2016
@noeloge82 Boss, my birds are in their 8th week now and they are doing fine size-wise. i've been feeding them superstarter the whole while, when do I change to finisher (with December sales in view) ?
Re: Xmas Broiler Broading In Pictures by kingjonez: 12:38pm On Oct 22, 2016
This thread has been very helpful in a lot ways & I can only pray God blesses the O.P and all the contributors for the knowledge you give out freely.
Incase any new poultry farmer has any case of torticollis/wry neck, fret not...it can be cured. As distressing as it might be, all you need is Vit. E.
I cured my bird successfully with that & I felt I should share. might be helpful to someone too

After the 4th week, your birds (98) should be eating a bag in 2days for optimum result.

Whoa! That's a whoole lot of bags before December. That's like 30 bags till december. Will it pay him in the end? I mean, will he make money after spending that much? My 50 6 weeks old Noilers eat a bag in 10 days, and they are doing fine sizewise. Well, they can't be compared to Broilers sha.

Who do you intend to sell to? I am also looking for buyers for my Noilers once they reach 2kg. I have 102, and I want to sell at least 40 of them before Christmas. I rear them in cages in my house, and they are so many for a compound and I don't want my neighbors complaining. One of them might go and complain to Landlord or something.

Anyone with ideas where I can sell them when they reach maturity. I just moved to Ibadan in June.

The best way. I am preparing my Poultry house for that.
Purchase noilers and raise indoors for at 4 - 6 weeks and free them in my compound for free range.

Anyone know the difference between white vs black/white cockerels?

Okay. Cool plan. I buy directly from Amo Hatchery in Awe (Oyo state), at N80 per bird...that's N4,000 for a cartoon of 50. The last time I went, they said the least they now sell is 3 cartons. I had to beg the lady before she agreed to sell me just one carton.

The black and white ones are stronger...I guess that's why they are more expensive than the white ones.

Have you ever done this? And did you have to kill the birds and dress them before selling them? And how much would you sell them. Also, how much would you sell to market women? I know those women can price market ehn!

I doubt that is the reason. One of the guys rearing cockerel here told me its because of the low demand for white cockerels.
That to him, they are basically the same.

Still need a reason from the hatcheries why the price difference.

If I get my noilers, I will update the thread.
