Pidggin:stop using pascals wager as a yardstick for your belief are you forgetting that Christianity isn't the only religion in the world. It also has a number of denominations so how are you sure Catholics are wrong or protestants. After all all other denominations broke out of the catholic church so it is only rational for a catholic to see other denominations as heresy. If you were alive during the inquisition you would have been burnt to the stake if you practised a different christian doctrine(heresy) what of Christianity is wrong, what if Protestantism is wrong What if Mormonism is right. I personally don't see how people can be Mormons but yet people still believe that doctrine that is the power of delusion what if the methodists are right or what if Islam is right you are failing to consider other religions and other christian denominations not to mention I am yet to understand how you guys are 100% comfortable with an innocent man being punished so you a guilty person can escape accountability. You are not even guilty cuz you weren't born during the time of Christ. Another immoral thing punishing people for the sins they didn't commit. You guys call it "original sin" or "adamic nature" this is total bull! How does this make sense A perfect being would not advocate such an immoral flawed system. How would you like it if you an innocent person were brutally punished for the crimes of a rapist. Yet this is what the entire christian doctrine is based upon. I'm sure if we had a chance to save jesus Christ that you claim to love so much you wouldn't save him. Why? cuz that'll means you would be responsible for your own wrongdoing and yet Christianity claims to be moral. We don't practice that kind of barbaric law in our judiciary simply because it makes no sense and is not moral. The cross is a device used for torture and that is your holy symbol. If jesus Christ was killed with a Molotov cocktail that would be the symbol of Christianity. If he was killed with an AK47 that will be the symbol if Christianity. If he was burned to the stake that would be the symbol of Christianity If God wanted to forgive our sins he could have just forgiven them. He didn't have to send his son to be tortured and killed. A perfect being would know better |

felixomor1:How did we begin? I started by saying that for Christians it is always a book thing and my main contention is that for the kind of claims Christianity makes, reliance on a book is not good enough. You brought in my grandies, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle ostensibly to show that I can prove their existence through books and I in effect told you that as far as the existence of Aristotle, Plato and Socrates is concerned we can safely rely on historical narratives contained in the books of history but for your biblical God who is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent coupled with the pressing demands he makes and the extraordinary claims of Christianity, a book will not cut it for me. Mind you I once believed. I only snapped out of it when I realised it's all hogwash. The Bible is full of lies and truth, contradiction and directness, mistakes and errors and it is seriously out of tune with Archeology and history for example Luke claims that Jesus was born when a Census was declared over the entire roman world by Ceaser Augustus when Quirinius was Governor of Syria. But historians say Quirinius was appointed a Governor of Syria in 6AD and the Census was conducted in 6 AD and it was local not extended to the entire roman world and you know jesus was not born in 6AD. But you see I lost my faith in the Bible God not because of whether the Bible is true or not in its history, archeology or prophecies. I stopped believing in it when realised it's a book written by men just like any other literary work and I say my God cannot be vocal in a book and be silent in real life. |

dalaman:Simple answer is the earth was created in eternity! time like the universe was created! And time also has it's own life span. Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3. Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. 4. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. (NKJV) Time was not created until verse 14. 14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; Please visit www.livingwordmedia.org and get all your questions answered. |

cloudgoddess:You will feel this way and it's kind of healing ain't it? I think the reason one feels this warming is because you are once again align to the universe. Christianity is very unnatural, it takes our natural instincts for life and turns them upside down, condemns them, poisons our soul with its unrelenting demands. For example how can love be commanded? Do you know that pagans are more natural and humane than Christians? |

Mujtahida:Luke never said Jesus was born at the census. You see how u misinterprete stuffs up and down? And then jump at conclusions? And go into history and check how many years that census lasted. Moreover there were numerous censuses. And sorry, nobody fixed any particular date around the times of these events. They are usually described "around". What Luke said that can be used to estimate is that John the baptist began his ministry in the fifteenth year of Tiberius Caesar (who reigned around 14AD) and if u work that age forward and backward with when Jesus started his ministry, u would land at around 1 BC as Jesus year of birth. Which is almost perfect considering the discrepancy in jewish vs roman counting of years and also considering the fact that Jesus birth month was not stated. If u dont understand things, ask for explanations rather than making unsubstantiated claims of lies in the bible. |

Why is it easier to believe in science than to believe in God? Only by faith can you believe God and that is the essence of Christianity. I have also been at the point when I started to feel there was no point believing in God. I tried to join the world as a free thinker but then I saw it was even harder being on the other side. No peace. When something bigger than you happens and you are emotionally overwhelmed do you reach out to science? Does science give you hope? Everything including science was created by God. The great things done with science are also inspired by God but he wont force anyone to believe in him. |

AWA churches' pastors have done real damages to young mind by not preaching sound doctrines ![]() You can find God in any other text, apart from what introduces him, the Bible. Even with the Bible, if you are not filled with the Holy Ghost you can find God. Ordinarily, you will be doing fine as a regular Christian and will make heaven because of your faith in Christ Jesus, but right here on heart your wont find God. The Bible say God is Spirit that is not visible to human eye, just like the air exited and cant grab with hand. You can see God but will Sense/Experience Him. I really love the nairalander with moniker sixthsense. Its after you have sense God, then you will find him. Those who wrote some garbage as book, who did not experience God how will they guide you how to see God? |

Akdegreat:Dear brother, I wish you know better than what you know for now in reference to understanding GOD. GOD is whatever you think He is... "As a man thinks in his heart so is he," Proverbs 23:7. If anyone decides to see God as A NON-EXITING GOD then He relates with such person that way... Romans 1:28. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient. GOD has given all creatures the FREEDOM to use what they have as tools to build or destroy here on earth and one day to return to Him in His presence to give account of the usage. One of the the tools you have is your ability to query and prove all things in order to hold on to the truth. 1 Thessalonians 5:21. Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. However, you need to be EXTREMELY careful in your quest to know the truth as devil is watching you too and STRONGLY desiring to steal your knowledge of the truth you know already and leaping further to take the most previous( your soul ). My dear friend, kindly guide your heart from the wiles of satan. Remember satan knows your weakness and his only still waiting for God's permission to use it against you but that God is not giving him for HE( GOD ) loves you dearly. Philippians 1:10-11. 9 And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, 10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God. Go back to God in MEEKNESS of heart and listen to Him to do the explanation in His own way for you and NOT in your way of preemption and presumption. God is Love and He still cares about you... Psalms 103:11-12. |

Akdegreat:The problem with you sir (said with all sense of respect) is the same problem with most learned men and scientist...you read too much. So the complexity of the complex completion in the incomplete books you read has complety complexionized your incmplexed mind to accept incomplete truths that are distorting the same truth. Now just like how the above sentence I just said is confusing in a way (although grammatically its correct, ur belief in God get distorted). Just take things one step at a time. Be a friend of God first, then you will understand why he does some things the way he does. You can't know much about a person if u don't get close to that person. PS: the bible has all the answers. Trust me mr , there I once was there. |

KingEbukasBlog:yeah,. an agnostic would indeed fit your type. i dont really know if we should start proclaiming the concept of atheism or not because atheist are often misunderstood. i could remember the first time i heard of atheist, i cursed my tongue out at the concept;you see, common sense would remind you that there must be a cause somewhere hence the term Agnostic Atheist. inside every atheist's mind there is a constant battle of a maker(s) creator(s) but not "God". not the Christian god or any religious one but a grand maker who doesn't even give a damn about what you smoke or who you fnck with thats why many terms have emerged from atheism and thousands of atheism believed in spiritual stuffs and many more have gone to Buddhism (not Religion)for answer. i would advice every atheist to try meditation, mantras and affirmation (prayer)or using your mind to correct some things in your body,, it works. |

Akdegreat:Seek God For Yourself Whenever anyone asks me how I can be so certain about who and what God really is, I am reminded of the story of the little boy who was out flying a kite. It was a fine day to go kite-flying, the wind was brisk, and large billowy clouds were blowing across the sky. The kite went up and up until it was entirely hidden by the clouds. “What are you doing?” a man asked the little boy. “I’m flying a kite,” he replied. “Flying a kite, are you?” the man said, “How can you be sure? You can’t see your kite.” “No,” said the little boy, “I can’t see it, but every little while I feel a tug, so I know for sure that it’s there!” Don’t take anyone else’s word for God. Find Him for yourself, and then you too will know by the wonderful, warm tug on your heartstring, that He is there, for sure. - Billy Graham |

Seun:The three people you just quoted aren't atheists.....most people who reject the "Nigerian" God and indeed a very large chunk of belief in the typical Christian God in our world as we know it would rather call themselves Atheist. You, in every sense of the word, are an atheist. They, on the other hand are evolving into something that's beyond atheism....something their intellectual faculties cannot give satisfying explanation to.....The Real Deal. They may be atheists outwardly, but at the core of their beings, they aren't. |
